As the OLTC operates in discrete steps, it brings in quantum jump in both the phase and magnitude of voltage at PCC, whereas sensitive load requires step-less operation. For step-less voltage regulation over extended range a hybrid combination of DVR with OLTC control of transformer is envisaged. The paper presents a simple and fast control strategy for hybrid control of both OLTC and DVR to desire stepless voltage regulation of the radial feeder under load perturbation and source side disturbances. A simple control algorithm is proposed which control the DVR and OLTC transformer to regulate the voltage in the radial feeder. Simulated results under MATLAB environment are presented to validate the effectiveness of control scheme.","PeriodicalId":198357,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications (PESA)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122918201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, the energy loss of the soft-switching circuit for the second topology is calculated and compared with the conventional one. An automated closed loop adjustable speed PMSM drive can be achieved by employing a speed controller, to which the information about the reference speed and actual speed should be available. The incorporation of Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) strategy establishes near sinusoidal armature phase currents and comparatively less torque ripples without sacrificing torque/weight ratio. In this closed loop model of PMSM drive, the information about reference speed is provided to a speed controller, to ensure that actual drive speed tracks the reference speed with ideally zero steady state speed error. Design of the speed controller and current controller will be incorporated in order to achieve the desired performance of the closed loop model of PMSM drive accordingly. Therefore classical PI controller is chosen for such a closed loop adjustable speed PMSM drive for the performance optimization.","PeriodicalId":198357,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications (PESA)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133179226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper develops a 3D scanning system using monocular vision to rapidly and automatically obtain the 3D dimension of the scanned object. The principle of the 3D scanning system is firstly introduced. The structure is then presented. The system consists of a camera, a line laser generator, and a rotation platform with a direct-current motor. The software of the system is developed based on C # and EmguCV library functions to realize image processing. Additionally, experiments are carried out through a fabricated prototype. Experimental results demonstrate that the developed system achieves the rapid acquisition for the 3D dimension of the scanned object and features simple structure, low cost, easy to extend, and rapid 3D reconstruction.","PeriodicalId":198357,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications (PESA)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114313179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As switching frequency increases, the problems such as switching loss and undesirable effects due to the parasitic capacitance of switching device are exacerbated. Considering these issues, design instructions are proposed about DC link capacitance, PCB transformer, snubber, magnetizing inductance, switch, output capacitance and turn ratio. Following the instructions, 1-MHz 65-W flyback converter was implemented. Its output voltage was regulated to 19 V in DC 100-373 V input voltage. The experimental results and loss breakdown analysis are given. To observe the effect of variation in switching device capacitance, Si and SiC MOSFET switches are tested. The switching waveforms and the efficiency of the two cases are compared.","PeriodicalId":198357,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications (PESA)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130924394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The stability of the improved SMO is further proved with the Lyapunov function. Additionally, the fuzzy PI speed controller is designed.
