Visual stimuli that are representations of objects, shapes, colors, and so on, are important information for human perception. Some of properties of processing of visual information in human brain are revealed, for example existence of neuron responding an orientation of line segment. This research reveals the precision of pattern recognition using supervised machine learning of human brain activity when human see color circle drawn In a display. Support vector machine with various kernel, neural network, random forest, and sparse logistic regression are employed in this research and compared among each other. The result shows that the highest precision Is 71% for predicting color of circle from three colors using sparse logistic regression.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128182792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The core of a BMS is an accurate model upon which the control and monitoring can be established. Accuracy and low-computational load are the two important factors that the applied model for online tasks have to possess. This paper presents a Takagi-Sugeo (T-S) fuzzy-modeling approach toward Lithium ion battery where SoC is estimated using the knowledge of voltage, current and temperature. By the virtue of multiple-model structure of T-S model, the nonlinearities of battery dynamics and corresponding parameters can be appropriately accounted for, while keeping the local models linear and easy-to-implement control/estimation algorithms.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132560389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a promising manufacturing technique, laser based maskless digital patterning emerged recently. Especially, the fabrication of metal nanopatterns on various substrates, such as glass and flexible polymers, has become important for various electronic device applications. In this study, we used the direct femtosecond laser sintering of metal nanocrystals to fabricate organic thin-film transistors. This process is an ultra-high-resolution direct metal patterning method in which the metal nanocrystals are sintered with a femtosecond laser beam to form high quality metal electrodes for the bottom gated organic thin film transistors with pentacene as an active layer. Organic thin-film transistors with PFBT treatments were demonstrated showing good performance with the mobility up to 0.0173 cm2/Vs. These results indicate that the femtosecond laser sintering of metal nanocrystals can be applied to numerous applications in electronics.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130969350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If DWI could indicate brain temperature without a complicated procedure, such information may greatly contribute to initial diagnosis. Although DWI based thermometry has a potential to be a non-invasive temperature measurement method for the inside of human brain, the DWI might be influenced by the composition of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of protein content in CSF for DWI thermometry on both phantom and patients. We assessed both protein included artificial CSF (ACSF) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) patients as a representative example of brain hemorrhage. The ACSF phantom study showed that less than 10 mg/ml protein content did not affect DWI thermometry and low Fisher scale SAH patients' DWI thermometry did not be affected by hemorrhage.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"418 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117332502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since implementation of utility facility infrastructures and hardware/software applications is deployed on a different period. It can cause of service interruptions from many reasons for example, hardware failure or incompatibility, software failure or incompatibility, human error, upgrading system, and incompatible functions of system integration. To understand of ecological system malfunctions and system failures, we need to realize on each level of user requirements, application design, utility facility design, system configurations, system integration, system operations, system maintenance, and service quality management to increase the system reliability and robust system operations. This research proposes ecosystem model of data center project management (DCPM) in terms of total integrated system from user requirements, design and planning, implementation, monitoring and controlling, throughout the system operations and delivering service quality. Primary investigations via data processing and interview with data center experts and secondary literature reviews were conducted. The result findings revealed the critical factors that affect on DCPM success e.g., technology, consultant, contractor or implementer, marketing strategy, and operation and service team. These are the vital bases for delivering the project success.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128441194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The IEC 61131-3 is the third part of IEC 61131 standard; it is a standard for programming Industrial Control Systems like Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) etc. The IEC 61131- 3 specifies the syntax and semantics of two textual languages, Instruction List (IL) and Structured Text (ST), and two graphical languages, Ladder Diagram (LD) and Function Block Diagram (FBD) and one Sequential Function Chart (SFC). The program can be composed of single or multiple modules implemented in any of these languages, where the each language has its own dedicated editor. In this paper, we are going to discuss the available programming languages of the IEC 61131-3 standard and their features that can help us to select the appropriate language for industrial control system as per requirements. In the past, different manufacturers had different programming concepts and methodology which led to incompatibility between systems and make the system less reliable. It also used to consume a lot of time and effort in programming and maintaining the Industrial Control Systems. This IEC standard provides a common manufacturer independent programming language which is flexible and reusable within a project and it can also be used as a library in another programs.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132086721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first step, neural networks are used to identify the location of the noises in image and in the next step; the identified noisy pixel will be reduced by using Gaussian recursive filter. This method is called the Neural Network Gaussian (NNG) filter. Using neural networks to recognize the location of salt-pepper noises prevents incorrect recognition of noise and increase the quality of noise reduction process. Moreover, by using Gaussian recursive filters against the typical median filter, which used only to omit trivial noises, the algorithm performance will also be improved significantly.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132103442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We cope with non-triviality on performance evaluate of multiple pedestrians detection and tracking under the situation of having false positive and false negative, true positive and true negative, and swapping of tracking targets with respect to different pedestrians as well as among false tracks and true tracks. Evaluation results with comparison among A) Nearest Neighbour(NN), B) Plain mode of particle filter, and C) Weighted model of particle filter are summarized as follows. By truth detection rate criterion, A) NN is the worst performance, while B) Plain is better than C) Weighted. By Swapping ID criterion, performance is improved by B) Plain and C) Weighted with C) being slightly better than B). However, by the criterion of termination of tracking, B) and C) are not necessarily better than A), rather worse than A), and B) Plain is worse than C) Weighted. This means that short term tracking performance has been improved by particle filter. Also, an elaboration in C) Weighted to consider the change of target size improve the performance than B) Plain.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126724608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to obtain other ship information from radar images, it is necessary to select and acquire ship images on radar images. Ship images are selected and acquired by navigation officers based on their observation skill and experience. The future purpose of this study is to automatically detect ship images on the radar. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the method for dividing ship images from non-ship images by the image processing and the cluster analysis using radar raster images. Many image feature points were extracted by the image processing using radar raster images. As a result of the cluster analysis using these image feature points, it is possible to detect about 99.8% ship images from radar raster images. However, there were many cases that non-ship images were classed as ship images. Therefore, the accuracy rate of cluster analysis results in this study was about 83%. In other words, it was possible to fairly determine about 83% images in this study.","PeriodicalId":196519,"journal":{"name":"2014 World Automation Congress (WAC)","volume":"68 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114120003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
