They represent the key advancements, shaping information-communication technologies. Fiber-optic transmission suffers from many degradation effects, and of particular concern are stochastic fiber impairments represented by polarization mode dispersion (PMD). The PMD is critical as it limits link operation at data rates higher than 10 Gbps. In this work, we report on experimental measurements and theoretical analysis characterization for PMD-based propagation effects in optical fibers influenced by wind gusts. The study was performed on fiber-optic link that runs through 111-km-long optical power ground wire cables. Measured maximum of DGD was up to 10 ps for a wind speed of 20 m/s. In the introduction, we justified the need to modernize teaching methods in university subjects aimed at acquiring and deepening programming skills. We briefly described the nature of the course for which the presented web interface is created, to justify some specific elements of the future design. We also analyzed various existing courses of a similar nature, freely available on the internet, for the created web application to meet current standards and meet the needs of students as much as possible. After identifying the key features and teaching methods applied in the analyzed courses, we designed and implemented an original solution. We verified its adequacy and usability through an extensive sample of students in the subject. Last year can be considered critical in terms of changes from a historical point of view. Strong technological advances are associated with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has changed the world. Human resources management has faced the greatest challenge since its inception, the planned changes due to technological progress, digitization and automation have had to be accelerated in several cases and at the same time a smooth transition to a new pandemic operating mode has had to be ensured. The main aim of this paper is to present the research results focused on examination of the influence of Industry 4.0 as well as COVID-19 on changes of job positions. The results of the research will form the basis for the creation of proposals for sustainable human resources management in industrial enterprises in the conditions of the 4th industrial revolution. For the purposes of the analysis, the authors of the paper have designed a valid and reliable collection tool (research survey). The research sample consisted of N = 287 respondents, HR specialists, employees of industrial enterprises in the Slovak Republic. Lego Mindstorms provides design options for various robotic systems. It contains an intelligent brick with which it controls a set of modular sensors, motors as well as the entire system. The experiment bring us to understanding how a VR experience, in a gamified form, may improve our visuospatial cognitive functions. The experiment consists of a cognitive tests and a training part. Preparatory application has been developed for these tests phase and several different types of EEG devices (from simple to professional) have been used. The article also provides a simplified description of the entire test procedure. The selection of usable EEG devices was aimed both at ensuring a quality testing process but also at answering the question of the possibility of using cheaper solutions.
