The device is much similar to the conventional white cane in appearance and it is fabricated using ultrasonic sensors, a vibrator motor scheme, a controller and a power unit inside the walking stick. The sensor system comprises of three ultrasonic sensors to acquire obstacle distance measurements and the user can interpret the distance information as a tactile sensation. The sonar sensors are fired with a sequential firing mechanism to avoid crosstalk. Distance is felt by the user in terms of the vibration intensity change. Epileptic seizures are due to hyperactivity in certain parts of the brain. Automatic seizure detection helps in diagnosis and monitoring of epilepsy especially during long term recordings of EEG. This paper presents the bispectrum analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) for the detection of epilepsy. Bispectrum is a higher order spectrum. It characterizes the nonlinearities in the signal. Features extracted from the bispectrum of EEG are applied to the neural network classifier to detect normal and epileptic EEGs. The classification accuracy of 81.67% is obtained. The classical HVDC system and VSC-HVDC system showed greater advantages in power transmission and industry. Meanwhile major disadvantages like commutation failure, reactive power requirement in classical system and high cost, high switching losses and inability to handle DC line fault in VSC-HVDC system lead to the invention of LCC-VSC hybrid HVDC system. With no commutation failure, less reactive power requirement and reduced losses, the hybrid system is best suited for unidirectional power transmission scenarios, such as power transmission to islands and remote load centers, where the construction of new transmission lines is prohibitively expensive. The present work aims to study various aspects of hybrid HVDC system. The emphasis will be on developing appropriate control schemes at both rectifier and inverter terminals for efficient operation of the hybrid system and achieve best performance of the system under steady state and transient condition. It is part of Sthapatya Veda (book on civil engineering and architecture), an upa-veda (supplement) of Atharva Veda. It covers explanation of several modern arithmetical terms. In this paper the Parvartya yojayet algorithm is applied to develop a high performance divider and static timing analysis is done on vedic divider and conventional divider. CB-CPW is different from conventional CPW in a sense that it has an additional ground at the bottom surface of the substrate material. This bottom ground plane not only offers mechanical support to the substrate but also works as a heat sink for circuits with active devices. The antenna is designed on a flame retardant woven glass reinforced epoxy resin (FR4) substrate material. The proposed design has reduced total area by 55 percentage with respect to the previous similar antenna. The antenna parameters such as 2D radiation patterns, gain, VSWR, return loss, and antenna efficiency are obtained and all of them meet acceptable standards of basic antenna. This kind of deployment creates large number of redundant sensor data. Routing of such redundant data not only saturates network resources, but also consumes more energy. Data aggregation is the effective technique which reduces the number of transmissions to sink node by aggregating the similar packets in an energy efficient manner to enhance the lifetime of network. There exists different data aggregation techniques which perform aggregation in single level or two levels. This paper presents simulation and evaluation of Random Early Detection with In and Out (RIO), Deficit Round Robin (DRR) and Worst case Fair Weighted Fair Queuing (WF2Q+) scheduling schemes and their comparative analysis under mix of Constant Bit Rate (CBR), video and data traffic. Simulation results are obtained using NS-2 simulator and performance of these three scheduling schemes in terms of throughput, delay and packet losses have been evaluated. It was observed from the results that DRR achieves highest throughput for all class of traffic. However, most of the traditional methods employed for this purpose suffer from certain limitations in accomplishing this task. A successful implementation of condition monitoring requires the development of a simple but reliable detector of various faults. This paper investigates the performance of Discrete Wavelet Transform and Radial Basis Function based Neural Network for incipient stator fault diagnosis in induction motors. Wavelet analysis helps in the extraction of important features from the faulty signal and neural network classifies the fault type depending on the nature of fault.
