The method incorporates the features like shape, position and texture to accurately diagnose from the infected images. The geometric transformation invariant nature of the method helps in detecting the tumor in various scales, positions and orientations, at a better rate compared to the state-of-the art methods. The method combines three features (shape, position and texture) to form a feature vector, which is used for detecting the infected parts in the image. In order to improve the accuracy of detection process, we employ a preprocessing step to denoise and enhance the images. The result section details the analysis and results of the proposed method and highlights on the accuracy of the method to properly identify the tumor parts in an MR image.","PeriodicalId":194102,"journal":{"name":"2013 International conference on Circuits, Controls and Communications (CCUBE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125346333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This architecture is embedded in FPGA using Verilog to implement speed control loop. Controller design, synthesis and analysis are completed by Xilinx ISE software and chipscope tool. Real time interface of this architecture with DC motor is demonstrated successfully, under dynamic load conditions. Re-configurability, high degree of parallelism, robustness of solution and DSP capability, these features of FPGA are explored to design the customized PID architecture. Further, closed loop system is simulated using MATLAB Simulink. Comparison of simulation results with the experimental results shows the efficacy of the proposed PID design.","PeriodicalId":194102,"journal":{"name":"2013 International conference on Circuits, Controls and Communications (CCUBE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133245557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MEMS microphones have advantages such as compact size, high signal-to-noise ratio, high sensitivity, quick response, and long term stability. MEMS microphone is also compatible with the surface mount process. There are various design considerations for MEMS microphone such as less interference, better sound quality, higher sensitivity, higher signal to noise ratio, less current drain, and low distortion. MEMS microphones are similar to the standard ECMs (electrets condenser microphones) found in modern consumer electronics, except that the components are built onto a single chip using CMOS technology (material deposition & etching), rather than assembled from discrete parts. In this an SU8 polymer MEMS piezoelectric microphone is designed and simulated using COMSOL Multiphysics tool. The physics used for analysis is structural mechanics and Piezo-Electric Devices.","PeriodicalId":194102,"journal":{"name":"2013 International conference on Circuits, Controls and Communications (CCUBE)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117052503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image noising is being done to a quality image by addition of impulse noise in different variances. There are two methods of image restoration namely; adaptive median filter and improved median filter. These filters are used to perform impulse noise removal function. Then the quality assessment of the restored image with original image (reference image) is performed. Reduced-reference metrics is implemented, wherein it makes use of only limited information from the reference image. For implementing reduced reference metrics, 2D Fourier transform is used to obtain the phase and magnitude value. This paper presents better results in terms of the combination of phase and magnitude score denoted as Qc. Based on Qc score, the suitable filter is chosen for the particular value of variance of the impulse noise. The least Qc score indicates the best quality image and highest score indicate the worst image quality. From the analysis with Qc score, it was found that higher impulse noise image can be restored by means of improved median filter and the lower impulse noise image can be restored by means of adaptive median filter.","PeriodicalId":194102,"journal":{"name":"2013 International conference on Circuits, Controls and Communications (CCUBE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121961185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work the complete mathematical model of field oriented controlled Induction Motor is described and simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK. For studies a 200 HP(150kw ) squirrel cage type IM has been considered. The comparative study of IFOC and conventional V/f control of IM is done in this work. The IFOC induction motor drive involves decoupling of the stator current components which produces torque and flux. It is seen that it provides smooth speed control, can generate full torque at zero speed and capable of fast acceleration and deceleration compared to V/f control.","PeriodicalId":194102,"journal":{"name":"2013 International conference on Circuits, Controls and Communications (CCUBE)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122884439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a system with HVDC link in parallel with AC tie line the dynamic analysis is carried out. The advantage of HVDC link is to implement frequency stabilization in interconnected power systems. The reason for Automatic Generation Control (AGC) system getting affected is open transmission access and evaluation of more socialized companies. Therefore conventional two area system is changed so that it considers the effect of bilateral contract on dynamics. In comparison with the HVDC link ac tie line dynamic response of two area hydro thermal system is degraded and sluggish. The paper discusses the effects of Integral, PI, PID and fuzzy controller with and without HVDC on an interconnected two area power system in a deregulated environment. Using Matlab-Simulink frequency deviation is simulated with different controllers. Different methods are used to control the actuator force exerted between the sprung mass and unsprung mass in order to achieve the active suspension. Most of the other research areas have introduced LQR controllers, Fuzzy logic controller methodologies. But this paper presents a control method based on a virtual spring-damper combination. A linear motor model is expected to be used as the actuator in realizing the values of the virtual spring damper. The simulation results show the sprung mass displacement with and without the active suspension when subjected to a large disturbance. The success and the limitations of the proposed virtual spring-damper combination are discussed with the simulation results.","PeriodicalId":194102,"journal":{"name":"2013 International conference on Circuits, Controls and Communications (CCUBE)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124220202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
