It is determined by the necessity of rapid adaptation to modern dynamic life and conditions of practical activity. The vast array of current legislation, its frequent changes, gaps and conflicts require lawyers to have a high level of theoretical knowledge and law enforcement practice. Questions of the lawyer’s professional self-consciousness development becomes particularly relevant because of contradictions between the existing level of practical training of future specialists and the objective needs of improving higher legal education. In this regard an important socio-psychological task of higher education is the formation of professional selfconsciousness of a specialist as an essential prerequisite for further successful activities. In addition the problem of creating such conditions that would promote development the lawyer’s self-consciousness is very important. As practice shows specialists who are able to integrate changes in surrounding world into the context of the cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of their personality can adjust themselves to the changes of professional activity. Success of this adaptation is determined by the qualitative characteristics of the professional self-consciousness of a young specialist.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124971313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sheremetieva, Larissa Spynu","doi":"10.46529/socioint.2020158","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46529/socioint.2020158","url":null,"abstract":"Knowledge of foreign languages is an integral feature of the modern global world. One of the sources of information is still reading, in particular, reading fiction. The program of studying foreign languages at nonlinguistic faculties provides, first of all, for reading special texts. When teaching a common foreign language at non-linguistic faculties in 1-4 semesters, teaching aids and manuals include small fragments from the works of writers, and in 5-8 semesters, students study mainly special texts. However, for the better knowledge of a foreign language and the development of a common culture, the socio-cultural component is important, which is largely ensured by reading the fiction of the country of the language being studied. When reading stories, novels of the famous writers of the country of the language being studied, students deepen their knowledge of the language, form an artistic taste, they learn to analyze and generalize what is being read, to argue their point of view. That is why home reading remains an important component in acquiring linguistic and cultural knowledge. Home reading texts can come in many styles. Each style is characterized by its own characteristics. For home reading classes and the subsequent development of speech practice, it is advisable to choose texts with an entertaining plot, emotional, imaginative and related by themes to the life experience and interests of students. Most modern students do not feel the need for regular reading of fiction, since over the years of study in high school they have developed an artistic taste. Modern students read mostly not fiction, but short informational texts, blogs, etc., since most students spend a lot of time on social networks, read little books (paper / electronic) due to lack of time. Due to the established habit of exchanging short messages on the Internet, young people are increasingly choosing small format texts for reading and communication. Many teachers consider reading literary texts as an element of the aesthetic development of students. Recently, teachers from different countries of the world have noted that students are not able to convey their feelings and emotions in relation to the read texts. They cannot analyze what was read at the proper level due to the lack of analytical reading skills. A general decline in interest of reading and insufficiently developed verbal communication skills is also noted. The question arises before teachers: in what form and in what volumes students should read fiction at non-linguistic faculties, including classic literature, since it is the language of works of art that makes it possible to know the picture of the world, introducing it to the values of other peoples and promoting intercultural integration. Reading authentic literary texts by well-known classical writers of the 19th-21st centuries acquires special significance when teaching foreign languages as a means of communication and studying the cultural heritage o","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122905946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So thus, according to these studies, the image can be better estimated by shrinking the singular values as well. This paper is concerned with additive models of the form Y = M +E, where Y is an observed n×m matrix with m < n, M is an unknown n×m matrix of interest with low rank, and E is a random noise. For a family of estimators of which is obtained from shrinkage functions ϕ λ (σ i ) based on the singular values decomposition of the matrix Y, we are interested in the performance of the model proposed by Candès et al (2012) for other thresholding function (Minimax Concave Penalty (MCP)), and under the assumption that the distribution of data matrix Y is multivariate t-Student distribution that belongs to an elliptically distribution family which extends the Gaussian case. Under this distributional context, we propose to apply stein unbiased risk estimate (SURE) improved by S. Canu and D. Fourdrinier (2017), in order to select the best thresholding function between Minimax Concave Penalty (MCP) and Soft-thersholding, and also to find the optimal shrinking parameter λ from the data Y. Numerical results reveal that the risk estimate SURE is good, the minima are reached for the same lambda λ (λ ∗ = = 5218.4) and the difference between the estimated (SURE) and the usual (Mean Square Error (MSE)) risks is low, and that the risk of MCP is lower than SOFT. estimate, mean square error, elliptical distribution, singular value decomposition, minimax concave penalty, soft-thresholding.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123006094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors reveal the role of human capital in the modern economy, which is carried by University graduates. The use of the predictive method helped to analyze the requirements that the digital economy will soon impose on students of technical universities. The main competencies necessary for a modern professional are highlighted, which include not only theoretical and applied engineering knowledge, but also an aggregate of new professional and socio-cultural competencies. The authors consider in detail the internal content of soft skills, which they understand as a key intangible asset in the structure of human capital. It is proved that only social and humanitarian disciplines are fully capable of providing the formation of these soft skills. The authors conclude that it is necessary to strengthen the role of social and humanitarian knowledge in technical education, since it meets the needs of the digital society and can ensure the unity of intuitive, emotional, visual, and logical thinking of a modern specialist.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132343929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Special education for talented individuals in Turkey has a variety of applications starting from elementary schoolage.. Although they receive different pieces of training, there are no transition processes similar to the differentiated practices provided in their education to move to a higher education institution. 983,000 12thgrade students have taken the university entrance exams in 2019. Assuming that 3% of the students who took the exam were gifted, approximately 30,000 gifted students have taken this exam. In line with the model recommended by Kırkıç for gifted students, the use of a different model in transition to university should be considered for gifted students. This study was carried out with a qualitative single case pattern, the purpose of which was to determine the participant's opinions about the summer school application, which can be used for the transition of gifted high school students to universities, which are higher education institutions. Participants of the study are a student who studies at the summer school determined by the purposeful sampling method and the supervisor of the laboratory in which she studies. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the laboratory studies process and the summer school application proposed by the model, where gifted high school student voluntarily attends during the summer holiday of the year she passed the 10th grade. Also, the opinions of the supervisor of the laboratory studies attended by the student were taken. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and renegotiation. Interview voice recordings were obtained with the permission of the participants. A descriptive analysis was done after obtaining the data. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the activities performed by the gifted high school students in summer school based on their interests help them to decide their department after the university exam, increase their motivation, provide learning experience by doing and living, contribute to deep learning, create the opportunity to experience university life, and make them aware of the advantages and disadvantages of starting early. Therefore, this study utilized Bakare (1977) study habits theory and the VAK learning styles theory postulated by Fernald and Keller (1920) as theoretical lenses to examine the influence of study habits on academic performance among students in public Junior High Schools in the Ekumfi District, while controlling for the possible effect of learning styles. A cross-sectional descriptive survey design was used to collect quantitative data through a questionnaire and checklist from 475 students using proportionate stratified sampling techniques. After meeting validity and reliability requirements, inferential statistical tools such as Pearson Product Moment Correlation and hierarchical multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The study revealed that overall, study habits attained a strong and statistically significant positive relationship with students’ overall academic performance. Besides, the study revealed that learning styles exclusively contributed significantly to academic performance. It was further revealed that learning styles did not impede the effect of study habits on academic performance. Instead, learning styles reinforced the link between study habits and academic performance among the students. Specifically, it was established that auditory learning style, visual learning style, kinesthetic learning style, reading and note-taking and time management made a unique and significant contribution to academic performance, however, the individual contributions of examination, homework and assignments, and concentration did not reach statistical significance. Therefore, it is recommended that strategies aimed at the improvement of study habits should run concurrently with approaches to enhancing the learning styles of the students for better academic performance. Migration is always stressful, the process of social adaptation is directly related to linguistic and psycholinguistic adaptation. The language factor has become a defining feature of those who migrate to America. Migration is a typical example of how the natural bilingualism functions. A characteristic feature of American attitude to migrants is the manifestation of their positive assessment through a negative description of opposite phenomena: nationalism, especially private nationalism of politicians, and terrorism, extremism, which is proved by the examples taken from the today-American media (The New York Times and Washington Post papers). The linguistic status of migrants may be described as that of people with a multilingual and multicultural identity, living under legal and social constraints, contradictions and very often also facing economic problems. It is a generally accepted view that the ability to speak the language of the receiving society usually plays an important part in the process of integration, because it is a precondition for assimilation. However, it is a necessary, but not a sufficient condition. It seems to be obvious that questions of language therefore can neither be observed and analysed nor be treated in isolation, because all these dimensions and factors are interrelated. The authors conclude that the migration process is both lingual and psychological problem of acculturation of migrants, which occurs in contact with a foreign culture and language.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129830662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These potentialities have changed the way classes are taught today and the dynamics are, in most cases, different from what existed a few decades ago. Among the resources available for teaching, exhibition of videos in the classroom seems to have very relevant effects, both on students' learning and on their greater involvement in activities. However, this is not always the case and the videos presented by teachers do not have the desired effects on students. Thus, based on the assumption that greater immersion in video activates positive behaviors in classrooms, this study seeks to analyze, through a conceptual model, the antecedents of “Narrative Transportation” (immersion in video). In this sense, a video was presented to 107 students from a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, whose narrative is based on fun. After the presentation of the video, data was collected through the application of a questionnaire. Through a causal relationship model, the research work reveals that, in addition to the structure of the video narrative (Narrative Structure), the variable “Joy” (Fun) acts as one of the antecedents of “Narrative Transportation”. These results thus suggest to teachers that the presentation of videos in the classroom, with narratives that involve fun and with clear structures, has benefits in immersing students in the content and narratives presented and in the involvement in the classroom.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116508349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
