The object is often given to the researcher by the background of the development of an enterprise or branch of science due to the continuity of scientific research and time constraints that the graduate student was involved in. The study must be completed within a strictly limited time frame, and it must also be practically implemented. Unfortunately, the choice of research object is often sharply limited. Determining the choice are the needs of this branch of technology, the state of the question, and the capabilities of the researcher. The newer the object of research, the higher the probability of obtaining scientific results, although it may be at the cost of additional time and labor.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126786859","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"YOUTH LEISURE ACTIVITIES: A SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SPLIT (CROATIA)","authors":"Zorana Šuljug Vučica, Gorana Bandalović, Marija Lončar","doi":"10.46529/socioint.202080","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46529/socioint.202080","url":null,"abstract":"The study of leisure is one of the most significant phenomena studied by sociology and other social sciences in recent decades. Leisure time can be defined as the time that a person has after fulfilling all his/her professional, familiar, social and physiological obligations, and creates it according to his/her own desires, possibilities and abilities. It is a particularly important segment of the daily life of young people as they are expected to arrange the most of their free time for their own growth and development. Most authors who study the concept of leisure time emphasize that it must satisfy three functions in the life of young people: rest, leisure and personal development. Thus, leisure is the time that is set aside to fulfill one's personal needs and choices, which does not include the fulfillment of formal obligations. It should provide young people with fun, opportunities to socialize, to learn new skills, and to be active in the life of their local community. Therefore, most of them emphasize that leisure is an important distraction from stress and allows people to rest from everyday worries. The aim of this research is to examine the ways in which students spend their leisure time and activities and how they arrange them according to their obligations at the faculty. Activities are divided into: sports, entertainment, cultural and educational. The specific aim of the research is to determine if there are statistically significant differences between male and female. The survey was conducted on a sample of 428 students of the University of Split at 12 different faculties during April 2019. Most respondents have up to four hours of leisure time per day. There is a slightly higher percentage of those expressing dissatisfaction with the amount of free time. Almost all respondents surf the internet daily and spend time on social networks, while only a third of them watch television every day. Among other activities, students attend night clubs and cafes in the largest percentage, while almost half of the respondents attend cultural events (usually sport events, cinemas and concerts) only 1 to 2 times a year. A significant number of respondents are engaged in sports activities (such as recreational activities and going to the gym) daily or several times a week. There is also a significantly small number of respondents who spend their free time being engaged in additional educational activities (courses, workshops...). Leisure time also includes interactions with other people. Respondents thus spend most of their free time interacting with friends on a daily basis and are extremely satisfied with their relationships with them. Finally, research has shown that leisure activities affect students' quality of life and their satisfaction with it.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127169229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Businesses, economics, and even education have been at the epicenter of this pandemic. This research is centered around 412 university students who are also K-12 teachers in seven countries. The research focuses on the changing needs of these online students from before the pandemic to the days when the quarantines disrupted life as we know it. Drawing on current literature, this study seeks answers related to how today’s adult learners want to learn and how that learning will undoubted be changed. The eight-question survey identifies evolving trends in the online classroom. The utilization of interaction and a sense of presence in online learning has in the past been essential to engagement. Much research has also focused on interaction and retention. During and following social distancing and quarantine, the wheels of education were turning to accommodate new learning methodologies and new shifts in interaction. This study then explored how interaction will evolve in the months and years to come. Subsequently the study considers at the impact of the Coronavirus on education today, and how the role of the educator is being altered. Finally, the study addresses the potential for reopening schools and how that process will impact distance learning.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126527538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the jury is still out on the exact definition of STEM education, it is clear that at least three pedagogical aspects are different from traditional mono-disciplinary subject learning, including learning content, attitudinal knowledge and instructional strategies. In STEM, learning content involves disciplinary knowledge, concepts and skills of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, attitudinal knowledge refers to positive attitudes and intellectual strengths such as creativity and mindset towards STEM learning, while instructional strategies embrace methods of applying and integrating disciplinary knowledge such as project and inquiry-based learning. It is argued that conventional classroom settings cannot facilitate such pedagogical needs of STEM due to the lack of adaptability. This paper examines the spatial requirements of STEM education and demonstrates through an actual redesign project in a Hong Kong primary school how architectural design can support learning content, attitudinal knowledge and instructional strategies specific to STEM learning.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126224719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The higher school, although providing a wide range of opportunities for soft skills development, is focused primarily on the development of hard skills. That is why it is so important for young people to be in the discourse of implementing the real socio-economic practices of the development of the Territory. This opportunity is provided to them by the discursive platform of the Youth Parliament. This article provides an analysis of the educational potential of the youth parliament of the Voronezh region, as well as a systematization of communication practices of the platform aimed at the development of soft skills of young people of the region.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127073680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is determined by the necessity of rapid adaptation to modern dynamic life and conditions of practical activity. The vast array of current legislation, its frequent changes, gaps and conflicts require lawyers to have a high level of theoretical knowledge and law enforcement practice. However practice shows wick relationship between universities and the sphere of graduates activity. After graduation young specialists do not know how to use the knowledge of various branches of law received in the university. Modern conditions can be characterized by the instability of the socio-economic environment. As usual training and selection of lawyers is based on the assessment of a number of psychological qualities, as well as professional competence, including theoretical and practical training. However, these indicators are not an accurate basis for predicting and achieving a high level of professional activity productivity.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132642559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This sequential explanatory mixed method design study sought to present both documentary and practical evidences, from the perspective of RME teachers and head teachers, regarding factors predicting implementation of the Basic school Religious and Moral Education (RME) curriculum in the Cape Coast Metropolis of Ghana. Six research questions and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study using a sample size of 276 people (264 RME teachers and 12 head teachers) selected through the convenience, simple and purposive sampling techniques. Data were gathered from questionnaire, interviews and lesson observations after subjecting them to rigorous pre-testing and validation processes. The questionnaire for the teachers obtained an overall reliability co-efficient of r =.945, the observation checklist indicated a high level of reliability (κ = .785, p < .000) while the interview data were checked for their trustworthiness (validity) and dependability (reliability). Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (multiple linear regression) were used in analyzing the research questions and hypothesis respectively and the results showed that school and community-based factors individually and in linear combination, contribute to the implementation of the RME curriculum. The ANOVA test of statistical significance, the regression coefficients, t-test results as well as partial correlation of the significant factors proved level of influence on implementation by the factors. On the basis of these findings, it was recommended that all the necessary processes involved in the RME curriculum implementation, including staff development, regular supervision as well as adequate provision of instructional resources be intensified relevant by stakeholders.","PeriodicalId":189259,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of SOCIOINT 2020- 7th International Conference on Education and Education of Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115826718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
