This problem drives the need for innovation and provide efficient solutions regardless this problem. Smart system that will monitor the congestion level at the traffic light will be a new option to replace the old system which is not practical anymore. Implementing internet of thinking (IoT) technology will provide the full advantage for monitoring and creating a congestion model based on sensor readings. Multiple sensor placements for each lane will give a huge advantage in detecting vehicle and increasing the accuracy in collecting data. To gather data from each sensor, the LoRaWAN technology is utilized where it features low power wide area network, low cost of implementation and the communication is secure bi-directional for the internet of thinking. The radio frequency used between end nodes to gateways range is estimated around 15-kilometer radius. A series of test is carried out to estimate the range of signal and it gives a positive result. The level of congestion for each lane will be displayed on Grafana dashboard and the algorithm can be calculated. This provides huge advantages to the implementation of this project, especially the scope of the project will be focus in urban areas where the level of congestion is bad.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"40 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113940874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This Paper proposes a theoretical expression to calculate accurately the value of this resistance. The proposed expression comes from the physical nature of the various elements constructing this resistance, plus the reverse relation of the output power with cell temperature, utilizing manufacturer datasheet only. However, diesel engines produce more nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide than gasoline engines. The effects on the human body exceed regulation guidelines. Therefore, these gases should be detected and measured. In this paper, we studied the measurement of mixture gases using the complex impedance of a low-concentration oxidizing gas sensor. We determined that it is possible to measure mixed gases in the range of 0.1–0.9 ppm for nitrogen dioxide and 0.6–1.4 ppm for sulfur dioxide owing to the difference in the complex-impedance change pattern.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123763260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The developed AC magnetometer consists of two main parts; excitation and detection coil systems. A Helmholtz coil configuration was used as the excitation coil to ensure a high homogeneity of excitation magnetic field. To reduce AC resistance due to eddy current effect in the wire of the excitation coil at a high-frequency region, a Litz wire was used. The Litz wire was composed of 60 strands of copper wires with 0.1-mm diameter. For the detection coil, a first order axial differential coil was used so that environmental noises can be canceled. The detection coil consisted of two 1000-turn copper coils and they were connected in series. The fabricated excitation coil showed a high homogeneity along its axis with the high excitation magnetic field. The sensitivity of the developed system increased with respect to frequency. The magnetic noise of the detection unit showed a 1/f noise characteristic and a sensitivity of 10−10 Am2 at 100 Hz was showed by the developed system. To demonstrate the feasibility of the developed system, harmonics of Nickel nanowires was measured. The harmonics generation increased with the increasing amplitude of excitation field. It can be expected that an extremely sensitive characterization of MNP is possible using the developed system.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"179 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123716688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, potential application of memristor in analog circuit is explored. A programmable delay element (PDE) which consists of memristor resistance write circuit, read circuit and delay element is presented. Operation of proposed PDE started with write circuit to program memristor resistance and read circuit to read the current from memristor that change according to resistance. A sample/hold circuit acted as nonvolatile characteristic of actual memristor that hold memristor current when voltage supply is off. Memristor current then supplied to delay element to regulate the delays. If memristor resistance is small, current flow is large and resulting in small delay and otherwise. This is how memristor able to program the delay of PDE. Maximum and minimum memristor current achieved are 265μΑ and 197μΑ that results in delay range from 1.31ms to 1.68 ms for 167 MHz input clock. Next, a case study of proposed PDE application in delay locked loop circuit (DLL) is discussed to prove PDE functionality in more complex system. For input frequency 5MHz, both conventional DLL and DLL with proposed PDE successfully locked input and output clock. Operating frequency range of conventional DLL is 5–7(MHz), while for DLL with PDE is 3–5 (MHz). This shows comparable result of CMOS DLL and DLL with PDE.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129085453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traffic problems usually occur due to high increase in the number of vehicles on the road. This problem caused by the infrastructure of the transportation and the developed of car park facility that are unable to handle the inflow of the vehicle on the road. To overcome this problem, a new parking system is enhanced. This new parking system is called efficient parking bay allocation and management system using LoRaWAN. Based on this project, the medium of the communication is by using LoRa. Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is also known as LoRa or LoRaWAN is a specification purpose for wireless battery operated things in a global, regional or national network. As for the result, the data is shown in the graph view. The z-axis of the data from magnetic sensor is recorded and able to determine whether there is a parking spaces. The interference signal of z-axis will determine the presence of the metal detected by the magnetic sensor. With implementation of the parking system, systematic parking facility can be improved. In the meantime, it can reduce traffic congestion in the parking spaces.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128797954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, limited effort has been done so far to utilize these valuable resources towards understanding the abnormalities' characteristic that the images might have. This is due to time consuming and expensive medical experts' interpretation processes. A case study on dental images has been conducted. Pairing the subjective and objective evaluation towards interpreting dental image might speed up the process. Therefore, this research introduced a new subjective-objective based image enhancement (SOIE) framework to identify objective measurements based on dentists' subjective evaluation on abnormalities in jaw area. The framework consists of three phases; image processing experimental design, subjective evaluation and objective evaluation. The study is limited to three abnormalities only; periapical radiolucency (PR), widen periodontal ligament space (PDLs) and loss of lamina dura (LD). The final output of this framework is the abnormality matrix that consists of subjective and objective measurement of the abnormalities.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126088908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many skin diseases which have a lot of similarities in their symptoms, such as Measles (rubeola), German measles (rubella), and Chickenpox etc. In general, these diseases have similarities in pattern of infection and symptoms such as redness and rash. Diagnosis and recognition of skin disease take a very long term process because it requires patient's history, physical examination and proper laboratory diagnostic tests. Not only that, it also requires large number of features clinical as well as histopathological for analysis and to provide further treatment. The disease diagnosis and recognition becomes difficult as the complexity and number of features of the disease increases. Hence, a computer aided diagnosis and recognition system is introduced. Computer algorithm which contains few steps that involves image processing, image feature extraction and classification of data have been implemented with the help of classifier such as artificial neural network (ANN). The ANN can learn patterns of symptoms of particular diseases and provides faster diagnosis and recognition than a human physician. Thus, the patients can do the treatment for the skin disease faced immediately based on the symptoms detected.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127210130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This new form of attack is a breed of DDoS attack that exploits the volatility of cloud consumers utility cost model. EDoS attackers fraudulently consume resources that result multiple cloud instances due to auto scaling feature of cloud. Consequently, affected cloud consumer ends up with an excessive amount of payment which may lead towards insolvency. In addition, benign cloud users experience gradual service degradation. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach to combat EDoS attack using game theory. We model an interactive game between the attacker and defender by creating static game scenario. Our proposed analytical model named EDoS Eye able to find an optimal strategic threshold value through Nash equilibrium. This threshold value can block EDoS traffic efficiently. Moreover, honeypot incorporation in our model reduce the false rate. Simulation results further ensure the efficacy of our model.","PeriodicalId":182418,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 8th Control and System Graduate Research Colloquium (ICSGRC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130315854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
