Four different meander line configurations of DWS are designed by using the CST Microwave software. The simple basic square is first designed with gap separation in between. The straight connecting strip is then designed between the squares. The straight connecting strip is folded by using meander line technique. Meander line designs reduce the gap separation but maintain the original length of connecting strip. The performances of all meander line DWS designs towards waveguide are observed through transmission coefficient (S21) and reflection coefficient (S11). All the meander line DWS designs show mostly similar results of S21 and S11 to operate around 8GHz-11GHz with compact size. Design D which has both meander sections in different orientation without a small gap separation between meander sections shows the highest S21 of −4.89dB at 9.69GHz. A performance comparison between the SED and Simultaneous Perturbation Stochastic Approximation (SPSA) based method for data-driven PID tuning is observed and discussed. The performance is evaluated by numerical examples in terms of tracking performance, control input energy and computation time. The simulation results demonstrated that SED based datadriven PID successfully reduced the liquid slosh whilst the desired position of the cart is achieved. The Tata Indica converted PHEV is considered with designed specification of the electric drivetrain. The energy management system decides the preferred operating points for the different powertrain subsystems (i.e. set points for the engine and motor as per the state of battery) so that the overall cost of operating the vehicle (fuel consumption) and or emissions is minimized. However, fuel economy and emissions minimization are conflicting objectives, hence smart control strategies need to be developed to minimize either fuel consumption or emissions and or both for particular selected vehicle with a trade-off between them. In this work due to the requirement of simplicity, practically implementable and other advantages like robustness and reliability of a fuzzy logic, a fuzzy logic control based strategy is used for deciding operating points of engine and motor. This is then used to simulate a complete vehicle. Simulation of selected conventional vehicle and converted PHEV has done in MATLAB. Baseline wander and high frequency noise is eliminated by using computationally efficient linear phase filter ie. interpolated finite impulse response (IFIR) filter. The IFIR filter is designed by using Kaiser window function to achieve high stop band attenuation. As compared to other methods, the technique presented could achieve a reduction in computational complexity by 80.14 percent. Data compression is also performed in this study using wavelet packet decomposition along with Run-length encoding. Run-length encoding is used to improve the compression performance. For evaluation of the performance of IFIR filter, computational cost reduction (CRC) parameter is used, which directly depended on multipliers and adders. Different fidelity factors are considered to evaluate the performance of the proposed data compression method, viz., compression ratio (CR), signal to noise ratio (SNR), retained energy (RE) and percent root mean square difference (PRD), their magnitude being 25.13, 38.93, 99.10 and 1.75, respectively. MIT-BIH arrhythmia database has been utilized to judge the entire set of computations mentioned above noise removal and ECG signal compression. This work also includes beat detection of original and reconstructed signals. In this research, human wrist and elbow joints motion is analyzed during five different eating activities and using different cutleries which are the fork and spoon. Xsens Motion Tracker (MTw™) has been used to capture the orientation data in the form of Euler angles of the wrist and elbow joints while eating various food types. The orientation data trajectories of the wrist and elbow joints have been analyzed and important events identified while eating several food types. Statistical tests like analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t-test have been performed to investigate if the motion of the wrist and elbow is influenced by the type of food and the cutlery used. The ANOVA and t-test results revealed that the motion of the wrist and elbow varies according to various food types and as well as the cutlery used during eating. To solve the aforementioned PCI's challenges, this paper presents a new graph-coloring algorithm called the Matrix Based algorithm that provides optimized solutions for PCI problems. To evaluate the algorithm's robustness, its performance has compared to another graph-coloring algorithm namely, DASTUR in terms of PCI reassignment and re-configuration. The electronic turbidity sensor operates based on the scattered light and absorption intensity with results to light scattering in solids and liquids. Natural environment is applied to this sensor to get the actual behavior of the water sample with NTU reading that is approximately similar to commercial sensor. Our turbidity sensor is created by a simple optical setup, which consists of (1) Infrared LED and (3) photodiode. The turbidity is determined by measuring the scattered Infrared LED light by the particles in the water sample and the absorption of light from the emitter. This project uses basic component and it is cost saving making it convenient for user. Conclusively, this electronic turbidity sensor can be used as part of a low-cost sensor to provide continuous turbidity information about water quality directly to consumers. Laboratory tests are conducted and it is proven that, the proposed device produced a comparable NTU reading as a commercial turbidity sensor. A few physical properties had been chosen as input data which were temperature, partial pressure of CO2, molecular weight, acentric value, critical temperature and critical pressure of IL. A sample of 184 experimental data points of the solubility of CO2 is collected from literatures (for training, validation and testing stages) to acquire the network. In order to obtain the best developed ANN model, the trained network comprising of transfer function, training function, number of neurons and hidden layers had been manipulated. The best network (MSE=2.9336×10−5, MRE=0.007297, R=0.99977 and R2=0.9994) was trained by Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation algorithm with Tan-sigmoid transfer function having two hidden layers, 6 and 12 neurons for first and second layer respectively. Besides, every single predicted data was compared to its respective experimental data and recorded the highest percentage deviation only less than 6%. Moreover, the extension capability of the model was investigated by additional data 104 data sets from three different types of IL ([bmim][PF6], [emim][Tf2N] and [C4mim] [DCA]).
