The methodology hinges upon a diazo-coupling reaction, whereby PHEPH undergoes coupling with diazotized 4-bromoaniline under alkaline conditions. The resulting yellowish-orange azo-dye demonstrates a remarkable sensitivity, quantified by the molar absorptivity value of 4.684 × 10<sup>3</sup> L mol<sup>−1</sup> cm<sup>−1</sup>. The pinnacle of absorption occurs at 459 nm, and the linearity of the method is impeccably upheld within the concentration range of 3–48 µg 10 mL<sup>−1</sup> of PHEPH, as dictated by Beer's law. An aspect of paramount significance is the enduring stability of the product's coloration, evincing minimal alteration in absorbance over duration of up to 60 min. Notably, the recovery percentage stands at an impressive 100.1376%, testifying to the method's accuracy, while the relative standard deviation (RSD%) of a mere 0.310178% underscores its precision. The applicability of this method extends seamlessly to the estimation of PHEPH within nasal drop formulations, yielding results of commendable reliability and consistency.</p>","PeriodicalId":18107,"journal":{"name":"Macromolecular Symposia","volume":"414 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-02-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143431662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nanocarotenoid emulsion is obtained by homogenizing red <i>melinjo</i> extract using ultraturrax (11 000 rpm) ps followed by ultrasonic for 1 h, confirmed with particle size analysis. The encapsulated nanocarotenoid formula is developed by adding maltodextrin to carotenoid nanoemulsion. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), encapsulation efficiency of maltodextrin, and carotenoid content are also characterized. The treatment of 1 h ultrasonication successfully reduces the particle size, with a diameter of 99.54 ± 0.03 nm. Maltodextrin added to nanoemulsion at the level of 100% shows the highest encapsulation efficiency at 54.33% ± 1.36%. Additionally, the sample treated with 1 h of sonication exhibits a higher β-carotene content (8.50 ppm) compared to the control sample (6.0 ppm), while the sonicated sample has lower carotenoid content (600 ppm) than the nonsonicated sample (625 ppm).</p>","PeriodicalId":18107,"journal":{"name":"Macromolecular Symposia","volume":"414 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-02-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143431301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved through chemical analysis and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) to identify its various elemental components. Subsequently, X-ray diffraction (XRD) is employed to determine the percentage ratios of clay minerals (natural zeolites) and nonclay minerals comprising the natural mineral ore. The natural zeolite is then selectively concentrated by removing carbonates, iron, and reactive silica (amorphous silica) followed by impregnation with nickel using the compound Ni(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>.6H<sub>2</sub>O. The properties and characteristics of the prepared zeolites (impregnated and nonimpregnated) are investigated using XRF, XRD, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), as well as thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The synthesis methodology encompasses the preparation of sodium uracil bis dithiocarbamate (U-DTC) by a controlled addition of carbon disulfide (CS<sub>2</sub>) to uracil within a NaOH medium under refrigerated conditions (0–5 °C). The resultant U-DTC ligand serves as the foundation for novel Ag(I) complexes, incorporating phosphine ligands, specifically dppe and dppp, at a stoichiometric ratio of 2:1 (phosphine: metal). Additionally, complexes are formed with PPh<sub>3</sub> at a ratio of 4:1 (phosphine: metal). Detailed characterization through spectroscopic methodologies, including FTIR, <sup>1</sup>H-NMR, and <sup>13</sup>C-NMR analyses, reveals the coordination mode of U-DTC with the Ag center. The spectroscopic evidence confirms the attachment of U-DTC to the silver center through a bidentate fashion, involving both sulfur atoms in a chelating manner. This synthetic approach underscores the strategic utilization of U-DTC as a precursor to engineer novel Ag(I) complexes, employing phosphine ligands in controlled ratios. The spectroscopic elucidation of the coordination mode provides crucial insights into the structural arrangement and bonding characteristics within the synthesized complexes, offering a foundation for further exploration and application of these complexes in diverse chemical contexts.</p>","PeriodicalId":18107,"journal":{"name":"Macromolecular Symposia","volume":"414 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-02-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143431623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This can bring numerous lucrative prospects and achieve lower costs while being environmentally benign. The work involves preparing a solid blend polymer electrolyte (SBE) system that conducts H<sup>+</sup> ions. This system is made up of an alginate-poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) polymer blend and ammonium sulfate [(NH<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>], and it is created utilizing the solution casting approach. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis verifies the interaction between polymer-salt complexes through the coordination of polymer blends. The electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique is employed to study the immittance response properties of the produced SBEs system at ambient temperature. The sample with a composition of 15 wt% of (NH<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>, exhibits the optimum ionic conductivity and is measured at 1.27 × 10<sup>−4</sup> S cm<sup>−1</sup>. Palm oil-based polyurethane (EPOUA) oligomer is synthesized from epoxidized palm oil by acrylation and isocyanation process. Then, the oligomer is mixed with 1,2-ethanedithiol (EDT) monomer and followed by di and tri-acrylate monomers to initiate thiol-ene reaction under UV radiation. The effect of different concentrations of EDT on the thermo-physical performances of palm oil polyurethane coating is studied. The sample is characterized with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotoscopy (FTIR) to confirm the chemical interaction of EDT with the EPOUA and other monomers. The sample is further analyzed on its microstructure, thermal and physical properties using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), gel content, and water contact angle. The XRD results proved that the addition of higher EDT provides higher d-spacing and peak intensity reflected to higher molar mass and higher crosslinking density is taking place. This finding is also in line with the DSC results as higher curing peak and total heat (J g<sup>−1</sup>) for curing observed at higher EDT concentration. The gel content and water contact angle also improve at higher amount of EDT resulting to a better crosslinking density and surface tension to the coating samples. The highest curing heat energy and gel content is at 2% thiol (0.42 J g<sup>−1</sup> and 85% respectively), while 4% EDT shows the highest contact angle (101.3°).</p>","PeriodicalId":18107,"journal":{"name":"Macromolecular Symposia","volume":"414 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-02-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143431230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The properties of the porous clay membrane are characterized, including shrinkage, water absorption, porosity, density, compressive strength, pure water permeation, and turbidity removal from aquaculture wastewater. A clear trend is observed from the findings. As the sintering temperature increases, the water absorption, porosity, and membrane permeation decreases from 62.25% to 43.67%, 57% to 43%, and 4356 to 2235 L h<sup>−1</sup> m<sup>−2</sup> bar<sup>−1</sup>, respectively. Conversely, shrinkage, density, compressive strength, and turbidity removal show an opposite correlation, increasing from 9.09% to 18.18%, 0.84 to 1.0 kg m<sup>−3</sup>, 0.95 to 4.11 MPa, and 79% to 94%, respectively. In summary, the sample sintered at 1000 °C emerges as the optimal choice for aquaculture wastewater filtration. The membranes are utilized in the FO system, and performance is discussed in terms of water and solute flux. The surface characteristics of the modified membrane are analyzed in terms of water contact angle, functional groups, and degree of grafting (DG), meanwhile, morphological studies are analyzed via AFM and FESEM characterization. Based on the FO test performance, it can be concluded that increasing monomer concentration results in an increase in the permeate fluxes until a certain value is reached; only then does the permeate flux start to decrease. However, the effect of monomer concentrations is not significant on the permeate flux when shorter reactions are applied. This is probably due to the limitation of reaction time, which only allows certain values at a time for co-polymerization to be completed, hence affecting the permeate flux. Increasing reaction time offers more reactions to occur, leading to more surface grafting activity. However, prolonging the reaction time does not always improve the surface grafting, especially when higher monomer concentration and initiator concentration are involved.</p>","PeriodicalId":18107,"journal":{"name":"Macromolecular Symposia","volume":"414 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-02-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143431237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
