The most important goals of this management system are to improve efficiency, to reduce waste, and to enhance overall performances of the considered organization at all of its levels. The paper aims to review its utilization by USAF, correlated with its applicability in the private sector, in different domains. By reviewing these topics, the paper assesses its suitability for optimizing and redesigning procedures within the Romanian Air Force (ROAF) in order to obtain similar efficiency gains and resource allocation optimization. For the analysis of ROAF are considered some of the main topics which require improvements such as human resources management, from education to employment and personnel retention, leadership, and technology used for training, missions, and maintenance.
