Dolayisiyla bu davranisin dogasinin anlasilmasi, ogrencilerin akademik performanslarinin ve ogrenme duzeylerinin artirilmasina katki saglamaktadir. Literaturde, bu davranisin lise ve universite donemindeki yayginligina katki saglayan unsurlar hakkinda bulgulara rastlanmakla birlikte, bu davranisin daha erken ogretim kademelerindeki durumunu arastiran calisma sayisi sinirlidir. Bu calismada, ortaokul ogrencilerinin akademik erteleme davranislari ile algiladiklari anne baba tutumlari ve denetim odaklari arasindaki iliski arastirilmistir. Ayrica ogrencilerin akademik erteleme davranislari cinsiyetleri, sinif duzeyleri ve anne babalarinin egitim duzeylerine gore incelenmistir. Arastirmanin katilimcilari, dort farkli ortaokulda 6. (n=169), 7. (n=165) ve 8. (n=177) siniflara devam eden 511 ogrenciden olusmaktadir. Ortaokul ogrencilerinin anne babalarinin tutumunu baskici olarak algilama duzeyleri arttikca akademik erteleme davranislari da artmaktadir. Aile iliskilerindeki ve basarilari uzerindeki denetimlerine yonelik inanclari azaldikca, akademik erteleme davranislari artis gostermektedir. Erkek ortaokul ogrencileri, kiz ogrencilere kiyasla daha fazla akademik erteleme davranisi gostermektedir. Ogrencilerin sinif duzeyi yukseldikce akademik erteleme davranislari artarken, ebeveynlerinin egitim duzeyi arttikca cocuklarinin akademik erteleme egilimleri azalmaktadir. Calisma grubunu, 2017-2018 egitim ogretim yilinda Kayseri Il Milli Egitim Mudurlugu AR-GE ekibi tarafindan verilen STEM temelli fen egitimini alan alti ogretmen olusturmaktadir. Calismada yontem olarak nitel arastirma, desen olarak durum calismasi kullanilmistir. Arastirmada veriler yari yapilandirilmis gorusme kullanilarak toplanmistir. Toplanan veriler icerik analizi kullanilarak analiz edilmistir. Arastirmada elde edilen veriler, kodlar, bu kodlara gore olusturulan temalar ve temalari kapsayan kategoriler olusturulacak sekilde analiz edilmistir. Arastirma bulgulari, dort kategori ve on bir tema ile ele alinmistir. Arastirmada, STEM temelli fen egitimine katilan fen bilimleri ogretmenlerinin, fen bilimlerini farkli disiplinler ile iliskilendirdikleri gorulmustur. Ayrica, fen bilimleri derslerinde STEM etkinliklerinin kullanilabilir oldugunu dusundukleri tespit edilmistir. Ilave olarak, STEM temelli fen egitimi hakkinda olumlu bakis acisina sahip olduklari, STEM egitimini ogrencinin ogrenme ciktilarini ve ogretmenin mesleki ozelliklerini gelistirmesi acisindan onemli olarak gordukleri, bu egitimin bazi zayif yonleri bulunmakla beraber kullaniminin artirilmasini istedikleri anlasilmistir. Ayrica katilimci ogretmenlerin oz degerlendirmeleri sonucunda, STEM temelli fen egitiminde kendi guclu ve zayif yanlarinin farkinda olduklari sonucuna varilmistir. STEM temelli fen egitimine katilan ogretmenlerin STEM egitiminin yayginlastirilmasi gerektigi gorusu dikkate alinarak bu tur arastirmalarin ve verilen egitimlerin sayisi ve kapsami artirilmalidir. Bu calisma nitel arastirma yontemlerinden etnografik durum calismasi olarak uygulanmistir. Sinif gozlemleri ve yari yapilandirilmis gorusme ile toplanan veriler betimsel analiz ve icerik analizi ile analiz edilmistir. Arastirmada, sinif ogretmeninin ogrencilerini dusunmeye sevk eden ogrenme firsatlarini kavramsal olarak ve uygulamada yeterli duzeyde sunmadigi, bazen sinif ici tartismalari kullansa da, bu tartismalarin ogrenme firsatlari olusturmalari bakimindan yetersiz kaldiklari gozlemlenmistir. Ismail Hakki Baltacioglu gunumuzde halen oldukca ilgi gosterilen, fikirleri uzerine tartisilan bir egitimcidir. Ancak Ismail Hakki Baltacioglu ilk defa bir romanin konusu olmustur. Prof. Dr. Irfan Erdogan’in eserinde Ismail Hakki Baltacioglu’nun doksan iki yillik hayati bes devre ayrilarak ele alinmistir. Bu eserin incelenmesinde oncelikle eserin Turkiye’deki biyografik roman geleneginde durdugu yer tespit edilmeye calisilmistir. Ardindan eserin olay orgusu ele alinarak icerik ve temasi belirlenmistir. Eser zaman mekân, gercek kurgu ve roman karakterleriyle iliskiler baglaminda analiz edilmistir. Eserin icerigini Ismail Hakki Baltacioglu’nun hayati, genel temasini ise egitime adanmisligi olusturmaktadir. Yazar, kisi ve kurumlardan bahsederken siklikla ogretici anlatim teknigine basvurmustur. Yazarin ilk edebi calismasi olan bu eser gercekci gelenege uygun bir sekilde yazilmistir. Eserde gercek karakterler daha on plandadir.
