Many systems were developed to access the information from the database using natural language. But these systems are domain-dependent i.e. they were developed for a particular domain. We develop a system called D-HIRD for Hindi language which provides domain-independence. For developing a domain-independent system, we divide our system into two modules: Language processing module and Database module. Language processing module use Hindi Shallow Parser for analyzing and parsing the input query. We introduce a domain-identifier component in database module which identifies the domain by using knowledge base. We use three database domain and 80 queries for each database for testing our system. The system is able to correctly identify the domain from the query and translate it into SQL which is executed on the database and result is provided to the user in Hindi language.","PeriodicalId":176197,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Computation of Power, Energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117197654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is difficult to construct the new transmission lines. So to enhance the power transfer capabilities of the transmission lines, Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices are used. Out of FACTS devices, Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) is the most suitable device for enhancing the power flow in transmission line. In this paper, TCSC is incorporated in BAT algorithm based optimal power flow to enhance the power flow and reduce the real power losses. BAT search algorithm is also used for the optimal tuning of TCSC. Optimization is done by using GA and BAT algorithms on a 5-bus test system for obtaining voltage magnitude, active power losses, fuel cost and also the parameters of the device to be installed. The results obtained by using a MATLAB code are presented and analyzed.","PeriodicalId":176197,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Computation of Power, Energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC)","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127319250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To improve accuracy of power flow calculation, corrected resistance for respective temperature must be considered. The Optimal Power Flow for a practical power system is complex optimization problem. The heuristic methods are more efficient over classical optimization numerical methods to solve optimal power flow problem. So, this paper presents a heuristic, efficient and effective gbest-guided artificial bee colony algorithm to solve temperature dependent optimal power flow. This algorithm has been tested on IEEE 30 bus test system. Previously we were using fixed speed wind turbines in wind energy conversion system (WECS), but due to some disadvantage of fixed speed wind turbine system, we mostly used variable speed wind turbine system in most of the places. Variable speed wind turbine uses power electronic converter in order to extract maximum power, but power electronic converter are a source of harmonics due to its switching action. This harmonics in the voltage and current of wind power, deteriorate the power quality of wind power. To reduce the harmonics in this WECS, several methods have been proposed in the past so many years. This paper presents a review of some of the harmonic mitigation methods that presents in the past many years in order to increase of the power quality.","PeriodicalId":176197,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Computation of Power, Energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC)","volume":"21 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116402823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
