Food Democracy and Food Citizenship movements show new awareness by consumers during the food purchase experience, who demand more and several information about food. The channel to convey this information is the label. Designing strategically a label able to satisfy the consumer needs could represent the success of food industry. The change of the market pushes producers and food companies to shift towards a vision ethical and sustainability oriented of the food production and packaging. The challenge consists to communicate all the information that consumer wants, taking into account how he approaches food label. In order to understand the contents about food information demanded by consumer, a crosssectional survey was conducted interviewing visitors to a food and wine Italian event. The answers were processed and analysed through qualitative analysis of the content and term frequency analysis. Four main clusters of information were identified. From literature, four patterns of processing label information adopted by consumer emerged. The purpose of the present work is to match content and patterns of approach to the food label, designing and proposing four different layouts of a smart label leveraging on IT solution.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129876929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the defect and cost that occurred during one year; the highest defect cost came from the A-Pillar stamping part. Therefore, we analyzed production process as well as finding out the cause of the problems that occur in the stamping process by using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to analyze it and conduct experiments by Design of Experiment (DOE) method. The results found that the problem came from the design of metal stamping die are not good enough to produce large parts, which are the risk of spring back problems of parts. After improving the stamping process by adding re-strike die; it is expected to reduce the number of defect from 492 cases to be zero and save the defect cost amount of 27 million Thai Baht per year.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130563679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though the machining training had been done before, but many obstacles faced by students resulted in the training that was considered to be less effective and efficient, causing students to be unprepared when carrying out the manufacturing process practicum. To facilitate learning that students must master before entering the manufacturing process practicum, namely lathe work and bench work, a virtual laboratory application was developed which was then integrated with the Oculus Go device to run applications in virtual reality. The design of this application is carried out using the user centered design (UCD) method in accordance with the measurement aspects of assessment based on their needs, namely visualization and information aspects, animation aspects, reliable aspects, and usability aspects. The results of the assessment are based on the testing of the virtual laboratory application by expert respondents and media user respondents indicating that the application designed has fulfilled the functional and non-functional needs of the user, so there is no application revision.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"398 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132148452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work focuses on solving the assembly line balancing problem using the Largest Candidate Rule (LCR) method in garment industry. LCR is one of the simplest and cost effective methods used in motion and time studies. In this work, tasks required to produce a T-shirt in a garment facility are analyzed. Combined line balancing and layout planning are used to improve the current work performance and increase productivity of workers by reducing worker’s idle time. It was found that the time efficiency of the workers has improved after applying this method and the product’s travel time has dramatically decreased without large investments in purchasing new machines or using expensive technologies.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114404546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, dynamic control strategies allow for a flexible adaption of MR routes and schedules based on the actual demand. In order to support MR operators in dynamic environments and to provide them with the right information at the right time, this paper presents a context-sensitive assistance and navigation system. The system uses position data and data from user interaction to guide the operator during the MR cycle and to adapt the information provided on the user interface.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125158751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the first time, micro W-bending is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the experimental design method based on the I-optimal criterion was adopted to test the four factors (foil thickness, gain size, punch frequency and punch displacement) affecting the forming accuracy, and 56 sets of data were obtained. Secondly, support vector machine (SVM) was used to predict the springback of micro W-bending. Afterwards, the prediction values obtained by support vector machine were compared with the experimental results. It is showed that the predicted values fit well with the experimental values. The minimum relative error is 0.3%. Finally, some measures are addressed, providing references to control and improve the forming accuracy of the W-shaped micro-bent parts.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134598453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the characteristics of civil aviation disaster relief logistics, this paper models and simulates civil aviation disaster relief logistics within multiairport network. The mathematic model has constraints by airplane performance and emergency resource reserves. It aims to cost minimum transport time and obtain optimal relief effect. In order to better compute this mathematic model, a modified cellular genetic algorithm is proposed. It designs a modified cellular evolutionary rule which simulates closer to real eco-system. This algorithm consists of five parts, including chromosome encoding, cellular space initialization, cellular genetic operation, cellular evolutionary rule and termination condition. Specifically, the chromosome is generated via concatenating the transportation task sequences of each airplane. Then an arithmetic case is given to test the algorithm. The test results prove the feasibility and excellence of the mathematic model. Further comparative analysis demonstrates the advantages of this modified algorithm in terms of global searching ability and convergence performance.","PeriodicalId":174901,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Engineering (ICFIE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132187273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
