Abstract

Fluctuating transport demands caused by an increasing product variety present a major challenge for an efficient production supply with milk-run (MR) systems. In this context, dynamic control strategies allow for a flexible adaption of MR routes and schedules based on the actual demand. In order to support MR operators in dynamic environments and to provide them with the right information at the right time, this paper presents a context-sensitive assistance and navigation system. The system uses position data and data from user interaction to guide the operator during the MR cycle and to adapt the information provided on the user interface.
