Due to its chemical structure, BPA and its derivates shows activity similar to the endocrine hormones. It can bind to estrogen receptors and cause neurological disturbances, even at low doses. Therefore, it is important to determine BPA and its derivatives quickly and sensitively at low concentrations. In this study, a single amperometric tyrosinase enzyme biosensor was designed for the determination of the amount of BPA, BPF (Bisphenol F) and BPS (Bisphenol S) monomers. Tyrosinase was immobilized onto a modified carbon paste electrode by cross-linking with glutaraldehyde. The amount of BPA (BPS and BPF) was determined directly on the reduction of quinone compound that released as a result of the enzymatic reaction at -0.15V. Km(app) value of the designed biosensor for BPA was found 0.00067 ?M, the linear operating range was 0.001-0.005 ?M (a) and 0.03-0.1 ?M (b) and the lower detection limit was found 1 nM for each monomer. It is clear that designed biosensor is enable the fast, efficient and precise determination of BPA and its derivatives released from materials used in dental materials.","PeriodicalId":17489,"journal":{"name":"Journal of The Serbian Chemical Society","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68515878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The post loading system assumes the synthesis of porous silica and aluminosilicate powders and the adsorption of the beet extract by these supports. The unloaded carriers were structurally and texturally characterized (X-ray diffraction, FTIR, N2-physisorption). The presence of betanin, approved as a red food colorant, was evidenced by UV-vis spectroscopy in all the hosts. Color properties were investigated as well as the pH generated color variations of the powders exposed to ammonia in the head-space of a sealed vessel. The experiments were carried out in a column with a diameter of 45 mm with spherical and non-spherical particles of polypropylene and polyethylene with a diameter of 3.3-4.9 mm and a density of about 930 kg m-3. A diluted solution of methylene blue was used as a fluidization medium, which was adsorbed on part of the surface of the column on silica gel. The obtained results showed that the presence of particles during inverse fluidization does not contribute significantly to mass transfer compared to the influence of particles on transfer in conventional fluidized beds. Therefore, the pseudofluid concept was introduced into the analysis and an empirical correlation was performed to determine the mass transfer coefficient. The obtained results were compared with literature correlations for inverse and conventional fluidized beds.","PeriodicalId":17489,"journal":{"name":"Journal of The Serbian Chemical Society","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68516865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, shaking table was selected as a gravity concentration tool for the recovery of copper from the light components. The flowsheet included comminution, gravimetric concentration and physical/chemical characterization of feed material and products. The process parameters were deck angle (degrees), motion frequency (Hz), wash water rate (Lpm), and particle size diameter. The Box Behnken Design (BBD) was used to optimize the performance of the wet shaking table and to identify the ideal combination of its operating parameters. By analysing the experimental design, it was found that the optimal settings for deck angle, motion frequency, wash water rate, and particle size diameter were 2 degrees, 50 Hz, 12 Lpm, and -500+300 mm, respectively. These optimal settings were located near the central points of the experimental design, suggesting that the actual optimal point could be within the design space.","PeriodicalId":17489,"journal":{"name":"Journal of The Serbian Chemical Society","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68517146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effect of various parameters was studied on the copper dissolution behavior from the concentrate. In this matter, the copper dissolution was reached 94.84 % under the optimized leaching conditions. The kinetics of copper dissolution from the concentrate was established using a shrinking core model (SCM), and the process was controlled by diffusion, with a corresponding activation energy of 18.63 kJ mol-1 at the temperature range of 343-373 K. The amount of copper in the leachate was tested by the inductively coupled plazma-optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) and the solid phase was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Results of the experiments show that the content of MoS2 in the solid residue was increased up to 88.59 % after the leaching.","PeriodicalId":17489,"journal":{"name":"Journal of The Serbian Chemical Society","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135400561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chromatographic techniques can be successfully used in predicting the biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic properties of newly synthesized compounds. The aim of this study is to investigate and isolate the most important molecular properties that affect the interaction of 20 newly synthesized chalcones and commercial compounds (lopinavir, ritonavir, darunavir and ivermectin) with human serum albumin (HSA). The retention behavior of the selected compounds was tested on a CHIRALPAK?HSA column. A mixture of phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) and isopropanol (80:20(v/v)) was used as the mobile phase, and the support vector method was used to form the QSRR model. Based on the obtained values of retention parameters, it was observed that halogenated derivatives show the strongest, and methylated chalcone derivatives the weakest interaction with HSA. By correlating the retention and physicochemical properties of the tested compounds, it was shown that the structural (SDSCH) and electronic properties (MAXQ, EEM_F1) groups have the greatest influence on the retention behavior and interaction of the tested compounds with HSA. The obtained QSRR model can be applied in the prediction of retention characteristics of new, structurally related chalcone derivatives on HSA stationary phase.","PeriodicalId":17489,"journal":{"name":"Journal of The Serbian Chemical Society","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68516384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking into account that face masks are mainly composed of polypropylene (PP) non-woven materials this study explores the possibility of in situ biosynthesis of silver-based nanoparticles as an antimicrobial agent on PP material. A pomegranate peel extract was used as a ?green? agent for synthesis and stabilization of nanoparticles. Hydrophobicity of PP fibers was overcome by modification with corona discharge at atmospheric pressure. In order to improve the binding of silver ions, corona modified PP material was impregnated with biopolymer chitosan in the presence of crosslinker 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid. SEM analysis revealed the presence of spherical Ag-based nanoparticles on the fiber surface with an average size of approximately 69 nm. The higher the concentration of the precursor salt, the higher the silver content after the reduction. Larger amounts of Ag-based nanoparticles provided stronger antimicrobial activity against bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, and yeast Candida albicans.","PeriodicalId":17489,"journal":{"name":"Journal of The Serbian Chemical Society","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68516551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"化学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
