One of these is human computer interaction (HCI). HCI has evolving into an interdisciplinary field that includes computer science, learning science, psychology, graphic design and media design, as well as several others. Devising effective HCI in highly immersive and participatory environments is the future work of learning technologists and instructional designers. This quasi-experimental study looked to explore the effects of XR-learning, specifically virtual reality (VR) on student motivation and engagement, post-hoc, in a middle school.  The implications of this research are promising and showed varying results based on engagement. The results themselves provide significant foundations for future investigations, however, the survey tool utilized in this research proved problematic and needs retuning for future studies. Understanding how students think might influence Mathematics achievement may guide educators in their efforts to raise achievement by designing learning models that provide most efficient and effective instructional strategies and learning experiences. This research examined relationships between Computational thinking skills (CT) and their results in Mathematics test in TIMSS. Five skills of CT were considered: creativity, algorithmic thinking, cooperativity, critical thinking and problem solving. Being aware of thinking skills and their influence on students' results may provide educators with ideas for designing instruction and may help improve TIMSS achievement. Participants were 46 Students; 100% were female. Results indicated that high CT levels predicted of high Mathematics results in TIMSS. Problem solving skill had the highest impact in the test result, while the creativity skill was the least influential. It was concluded that students might need to improve their solving problems skill rather than their critical thinking skill in order to become successful in TIMSS assessments. Further empirical evidence is needed for whether CT tools improves students’ achievement. Rather than broadly update the seven themes they originally proposed, I re-group and re-examine the seven themes by using evidence published since 2003. The themes of the meshed on/off-line realm, made visible through the work of connective ethnography, illustrate the separation, influence and flow of one realm more clearly and convincingly than the evidence available in 2003. I conclude by describing the encumbrances to the meshing of the on/off-line realm. To build a true interdisciplinary curriculum, instructional designers must begin with student needs and expected learning outcomes, which are not discipline specific. This mixed-method action research study, in which the author/researcher was also the teacher, reports on the design and implementation of a self-directed learning environment for eighth-grade life science students. This study investigated the impact of this type of learning environment on the behavior and achievement of students. The findings demonstrated an increase in self-regulatory behaviors, higher performance on a state-mandated final exam, and the development of complex and robust student learning networks. Implications for teaching and learning practices and suggestions for further research are discussed. Library websites are a crucial asset to the students, faculty, and staff at the colleges. User experience and usability testing play a significant role in the successful delivery of services and user satisfaction of libraries’ online services. The goal of this research study was to determine the issues with the one of the Midwestern college’s library website and to come up with the design recommendations to enhance services for not only for the college but also all online library service developers. This study uses a mixed method to collect quantitative and qualitative data, to make the evaluation more reliable and evaluates three dimensions of User Experience (UX) which include effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. The data were collected through multiple phases including demographics of participants, pre-defined task test, subjective satisfaction survey, and a semi-structured interview. The research results indicate that the complexity in design increases the task completion time and leads users to quit. Additionally, advanced search capability increases the success of the library’s online services. The results would be of great importance to the library web developers to create user-friendly services that provide more benefits to the students as well as the academic community. A total of 344 students of grade 9 and 10 from three private schools were involved in this study. The descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal- Wallis test are used to analyze digital literacy. The study revealed that majority of students possesses adequate level of digital literacy; students demonstrated high level of skills in mobile usage and showed low level of skills in preventing computer from viruses. Moreover, the analysis showed insignificant difference in terms of the students’ digital literacy between male and female and between grade 9 and 10. However, significant difference is found in terms of digital literacy between the schools. Findings indicate students’ proficiency in digital literacy and points to the importance of developing strategies at policy and school level to help students exploit technological resources in a purposeful, safe and meaningful way.
