E-Learning Benchmarking in Higher Education: Methodology Literature Review 高等教育电子学习基准:方法论文献回顾

E-learning systems provide a link between instructional content and other learning activities offering digital tools and better services to facilitate learning. Within this context, e-learning quality assurance has become extremely vital for higher education institutions (HEIs) in terms of student retention and satisfaction. Based on twenty-two recent studies, this paper reviews, analyzes and synthesizes the existing literature with the aim to improve e-learning quality and identify the standards, criteria and benchmarks for e-learning systems and their evaluation. Results show that the studies were distinct majorly in terms of the research methods used for e-learning benchmarking and e-learning evaluation. Eight out of twenty-two studies focused on comprehensive framework and benchmarking indicators, while four studies provided theoretical and conceptual analysis. It was also found that three studies introduced the results of benchmarking e-learning case studies and studied conceptual models for evaluating e-learning and two studies presented evaluation criteria and the factors for e-learning evaluation. Lecture videos may offer a solution for students to be self-reliable, achieve self-attentiveness and take over responsibility for their learning progress. Especially with students of the generation “digital natives” entering higher education lecture videos seem to be ubiquitous. However, the implementation of lecture videos needs to follow a thread and be aligned with the course requirements. Lecture videos are definitely not a substitution for lecturers but a support for transferring theoretical knowledge into the practical requirements of now-a-day students. Lecturers are highly challenged when using lecture videos as teaching resource because students need to fully accept lecture videos as beneficial, scientifically worthy and means to study freedom regarding place and time to improve learning objectives. The single chip microcomputer technology and several electric technology combined with each other, constructs the sampling data width of 8 bit microcontroller, 200 KHZ sampling rate of A/D sampling analog chips. Set up a simple peripheral circuit can be analog sampling numerical digital tube display. In addition, the simulator can simulate any 74 logic chip of DIP16 package size. The applications are widely used to promote and support learning in many levels and contexts. In this research, the 19 sophomore students who enrolled in a school curriculum in early childhood education course at Suan Dusit University in Thailand were expected to have the ability to design the school curriculum in early childhood education according to the early childhood school curriculum compositions with Roomle 3D & AR room planner application after using the learning approach of community-based integration and the use of application. The Roomle 3D & AR room planner application was used as a tool to draw floor plans, furnish and decorate the early childhood classroom and school. This study also aims to compare the academic achievement and to study the students’ learning satisfaction in the school curriculum in early childhood education course before and after using the learning approach of community-based integration and the use of application. The statistics used in this research were mean, standard deviation and percentage. The results showed the students’ ability to design the school curriculum in early childhood education according to the early childhood school curriculum compositions with Roomle 3D & AR room planner application. After using the learning approach, the students had an average score of 14.89 and a standard deviation of 2.08 which is 74.47% higher than before. The students’ learning satisfaction was also at the highest level with the mean of 4.77 and the standard deviation of 0.40.
