With its heterogeneity in clinical manifestations, treatment responses and prognosis, biomarkers that can predict treatment benefits and risk stratification of deterioration are very important. In recent years, many studies have reported that eosinophils are highly involved in the development of airway inflammation in COPD. The baseline blood eosinophil count(EOS) is related to the therapeutic effect of inhaled corticosteroids(ICS) and the risk of acute exacerbation in patients. The level of EOS may be affected by many factors such as geography, race, etc. In domestic clinical work, the actual reference data of EOS may not be consistent with the recommended reference threshold value in GOLD. Since there is no uniform and accurate epidemiological data on EOS in COPD patients in China, this review focuses on the research progress and controversy in the areas of EOS and COPD airway inflammation, development as biomarkers, and the role of guiding the clinical application of ICS, to discuss the setting of the critical value of EOS of Chinese COPD patients.

SCH is defined as an elevated serum thyrotropin (often referred to as thyroid-stimulating hormone, or TSH) level with normal levels of free thyroxine (FT4) that affects up to 10% of the adult population. The identification of patients with subclinical hypothyroidism having an increased cardiovascular risk is of great importance in the present era. The aim of the study was to evaluate cardiovascular risk factors in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism.\u0000Methods: 120 patients with subclinical hypothyroidism and 120 age and gender matched healthy euthyroid controls in the age group of 18-70 years were included in the study. Body mass index (BMI), lipid profile, and levels of serum biomarkers were estimated in both the groups and further compared using student t-test. Lipid profile was also correlated with the serum ADMA & IL-6 and the results were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient.\u0000Results: Patients with subclinical hypothyroidism had significantly higher levels of serum TSH, IL-6 and ADMA. Similarly, serum total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were significantly increased and HDL-C was significantly decreased in SCH patients when compared to the same parameters of controls (p<0.001). Significant positive correlations were found among lipid profile and serum IL-6 & ADMA.\u0000Conclusions: The present study concluded that the SCH patients presented increased concentrations of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors viz. IL-6, ADMA & lipid profile. The potential benefits of diagnosis and treatment of subclinical hypothyroidism may have possible advantages firstly by preventing the progression to overt hypothyroidism and secondly decrease the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by starting appropriate therapy to improve lipid parameters.

With age comes a dramatic surge in dementia cases. It is an irreversible brain disorder that impairs thinking, memory, and judgment, causing a person’s cognitive ability to decline. Around 50 million individuals worldwide have dementia, and 10 million new cases are identified yearly. Therefore, solving this problem has become urgently necessary, and dementia must be diagnosed early for more advanced treatments to develop. Cognitive tests are used to assess a person’s mental capacity to diagnose this condition early. In the present study, we tried to detect dementia in its early stages using machine learning approaches. Data collected for the analysis comprised gender, age, education, MMSE (Mini‐Mental State Examination), CDR (Clinical Dementia Rating), ASF (Atlas scaling factor), handedness, and hospital visits for patients classified as demented or non-demented. We applied machine learning approaches such as KNN, DT (Decision Tree), and RF (Random Forest) classifiers to analyze the data. Each algorithm is compared in a study. The most accurate algorithm will be employed to continue examining the data. Our suggested study used an additional tree classifier for deeper data analysis.

The goal of this study was to see how well bioactive molecules worked in animal models of amnesia caused by scopolamine. Ginger has a lot of Zingerone (Zn), which makes up about 9.25% of the total amount. Gramine (Ga) is a nonterpenoid indole alkaloid that is found in plants like barley and wheat. It is also known as donaxine. Acute toxicity tests were done on both of the drugs. As an animal model for study scopolamine induced amnesia in rat were selected and as behavioural evaluation the Morris water maze (MWM) and elevated plus maze were used to measure behavioural changes (EPM). In case of biochemical evaluation were the glutathione (GSH), lipid peroxidation (LPO), catalase (CAT), and AchE in the serum levels were performed. Histopathological imaging also performed. The animals were administered as per following grouping Zn (75,125,250 mg/kg p.o.) and Ga (13, 27.5,55 mg/kg), standard administered donepezil (1 mg/kg p. o.) In This Zn, Ga and Donepezil reading demonstrate significant improvement in antioxidant defence and reversed the biochemical (LPO, GSH), enzymatic (AchE) and behavioural changes which was observed by MWM and EPM as compared to Positive control so as per above observation Zn and Ga significantly fixed the memory problems caused by scopolamine so based on the above discussion, both drugs may be able to fight Alzheimer's.

One commonly measured outcome of interest is length of stay (LOS). \u0000 \u0000Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of video assisted education on length of stay of patients undergoing abdominal surgeries.\u0000 \u0000Materials and methods: An experimental study was undertaken to assess the effect of video assisted education on length of stay on patients undergoing abdominal surgeries. Total 63 samples in the control group and 63 in the experimental group aged 18 years and above were selected by random sampling from all surgical wards (male and female wards) where patients were admitted for surgery. Patients in the intervention group were prepared for surgery one day prior to the surgery in the surgical wards during preoperative period by showing them videos on what to expect before, during and after surgery and were monitored for performing exercises regularly every three to four hours post operatively. The length of stay in the hospital was marked including the day of surgery and days spent in ICU and post operative wards by an observational checklist. Descriptive and inferential statistics was used for the analysis of the tabulated data.\u0000 \u0000Results: Out of 63 in experimental group respondents’ maximum respondents 16 (25%) were from age group of 38-47 years. Majority of the respondents 33 (52%) were male, 57(90%) were married, 20 (32%) of the participants were Graduates.\u0000In control group, majority 17 (27%) of the participants were in the age group 48-57 years. 36 (57%) were male and 55 (87%) were married, 26 (41%) of the participants educational status were less than 10th standard.\u0000In the experimental group 45 (72% i.e majority of the participants stayed 5-8 days in hospital and in the control group also majority of the participants 41(65%) stayed 5-8 days in hospital. There was no significant difference in the length of stay in the hospital for surgery in both the groups The video assisted education did not show any significant effect on the length of stay of patients admitted for abdominal surgeries.\u0000Our study results is consistent with the study findings by (Kalogianni, et al,216) indicated "the preoperative teaching minimize the postoperative complication but did not affect the effectiveness on length" of hospital stay.\u0000From a time where a postoperative stay of 10 days was not uncommon, patients are now routinely discharged on postoperative day

For their future, youth need to have a solid understanding of financial matters. In the context of a developing economy like India, where social safety benefits beyond retirement are non-existent in contrast to many advanced nations, this is of the utmost importance. Additionally, due to the development of complex economic items, boys and girls must develop their ability to make economic decisions. Because of this, a student must be financially literate in order to make wise financial decisions. Financial awareness can be developed through teachers, classmates, friends from school, and parents at home. Financial awareness can be developed through teachers, classmates, friends from school, and parents at home.\u0000In the present study, students, teachers, and parents were interrogated to gather their viewpoint on financial awareness. A questionnaire was used to gather primary data from 95 parents, 90 teachers and 418 high school students from Pune, Maharashtra. It was shown that students are keen to develop their financial literacy. It was also discovered that parents and teachers play a role in shaping pupils' financial attitudes. It was discovered that administering a quiz and playing various financial activities significantly influenced school students' financial attitudes.

Infrastructure projects, however, demand huge upfront cash commitments, lengthy gestation times, and large incremental cash requirements. The real challenge of this time is not producing information or storing information, but getting people to use information appropriately. Information is a critical resource in the operation and management of organisations. Timely availability of relevant information is vital for effective performance of managerial functions such as planning, organising, leading and controlling. There is a universal assumption that man was born innocent or ignorant and should actively seek knowledge. Information Behaviour is a broad term encompassing the ways individuals articulate their information needs, seek, evaluate, select and use information. In this era of information, it is very relevant for any type of the professionals to have the updated information at the right time in the right mode. The present study concentrates the relevance of information behaviour for nurses, especially working with the Government hospitals in Kerala.
