The suppression of central carrier and residual orders is realized via adjusting the parameters of Mach-Zehnder modulator, including the drive signal that amplitude voltage by the radio frequency signal and the bias voltage of direct current. We experimentally generate the 72-GHz optical millimeter-wave, which adopted frequency multiplication by a radio frequency signal of 9-GHz, is not using any costly filters. Furthermore, we realized the 3.5-Gb/s OOK signal for downlink of radio-over-fiber system. In which by the generation of 72-GHz millimeter wave. To the best of our knowledge, the paper realized generation of frequency eightfold millimeter wave signal and suppressed the undesired carrier at the same time via just utilizing one single arm Mach-Zehnder modulator in our scheme for the first time.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127715464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impedance bandwidth of 2.89GHz–12GHz with S11<−10dB is achieved based on the wideband property of the annular ring monopole. Two notched bands are created by embed inverted-U-slots in the tapered microstrip feed line for minimize the interference from other wireless communication systems operating in 3.3–3.6GHz and 5.15–5.825GHz bands. The more important point is that the two slots have weak mutual coupling to be tuned individually and randomly, and the notched frequencies can be easily designed to fit for the different wireless standards. Besides, the presented antenna has a very compact overall size of 20mm × 16mm, and stable gain and patterns are obtained during the design procedure.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115934800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the channel state information (CSI) of a MIMO system is known by the transmitter, the water-pouring power allocation algorithm can be used to obtain the maximum channel capacity. However, this policy takes no account of the influence of modulation and bit allocation, and it can not obtain the minimum bit error rate (BER) performance of MIMO systems. Hence, this paper is devoted to the presentation of a novel strategy which allocates the bit and power jointly, aiming to approach the minimum BER for MIMO systems. Compared with the conventional power allocation algorithm, the simulation results demonstrate that this proposed scheme can significantly reduce the BER of MIMO systems.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134156372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mainstream framework of object proposals (e.g. Faster R-CNN) needs to manually label every bounding box of each object on an image in the training or fine-tuning stage, which is a time consuming task. Thus, we propose an idea that object regions in each image can be generated firstly by a pre-trained Faster R-CNN based on other complete tagging data set (e.g. PASCAL VOC 2007). Then a fine-tuned convolutional neural network (CNN) on the current data set can be used to mark the object region automatically. Finally, these labeled object regions can be used to fine-tune the Faster R-CNN and CNN. In the animal classification data set of BOT 2016, experimental results show that our proposed method can greatly boost the average accuracy of image classification.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127646578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose here three types of Gray-code input DAC architectures (current-steering, charge-mode and voltage-mode DACs) for glitch reduction. They use current/voltage switch matrixes realized by double-pole double-throw (dpdt) switches. For a binary-weighted DAC, glitches which are trigged by switching during conversion in a DAC system are serious problems in some applications. Gray code (reflected binary code) is a binary numeral system where two successive values differ in only one bit and conversion between binary-code and Gray-code can be easily realized by XOR circuits. SPICE simulation has been performed to prove their feasibility and ability of glitch reduction.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116000212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A bio-nanomachine in the system has mobility and moves about the environment. It carries a fixed amount of molecules and releases the molecules either at a constant rate, at a decreasing rate or instantaneously in order to create molecule gradients in the environment. This paper uses a computational model to simulate the system and observes how the manner in which mobile bio-nanomachines release molecules affects the resultant molecule gradients that are formed. The main contribution of this paper is to gain insight into the process of molecule gradient formation, which is important in understanding biological systems (e.g., developmental processes) and designing synthetic biological systems.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116282709","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different from the conventional STAP filters, the proposed STAP filters are derived by three steps. Firstly, a virtual space-time snapshot is constructed using the property of the coprime sampling. Secondly, an equivalent covariance matrix with enhanced degrees of freedom is computed by using spatial-temporal smoothing approach. Thirdly, two optimal STAP filters are derived based on the estimated covariance matrix. Simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed filters.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123670827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To address this problem, an effective multi-view joint learning network (MJLN) is proposed for pedestrian gender classification. Based on the observation that the view variation of pedestrian will affect the judgment of pedestrian gender, the proposed MJLN simultaneously performs pedestrian gender learning and pedestrian view learning. Consequently, the determination of pedestrian view (i.e., frontal, rear, and left/right profile) obtained by the pedestrian view learning module will effectively assist the pedestrian gender learning module to yield a more robust and distinguishable feature so as to improve the gender classification performance. Extensive experiments on multiple challenging pedestrian datasets, which includes CUHK, VIPeR, GRID, PRID, and MIT, have demonstrated that the proposed MJLN can effectively promote the gender classification performance, and outperforms multiple state-of-the-art methods.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124595294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel method is proposed for jointly reducing sidelobe power of signals in licensed user bands (LU) and PAPR for the CR system with the NC-OFDM scheme. A method to construct a precoding matrix for reducing PAPR values by choosing a proper shaping pulse is developed first. A replacement procedure through the singular value decomposition (SVD) is executed to modify the precoding matrix for further achieving the minimum bit error rate (BER) performance. Second, two pseudo random sequence assignment algorithms, the Random Circular Sequence (RCS) and Quadratic Permutation Polynomials (QPP) algorithms, are proposed in the Multiple Choice Sequences (MCS) scheme for suppressing sidelobe power of signals in LU bands. Both algorithms have low complexities in computation and are easy to perform with only requiring a small amount of side information. Simulation results show that, by combining the optimum precoding matrix with the MCS procedure, decreasing the PAPR values and sidelobe power of signals in LU bands can be achieved simultaneously. Without introducing signal distortion, the proposed algorithms have better effects in sidelobe power suppression than the phase approach, and almost the same performance as the random assignment method.","PeriodicalId":166414,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129441624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
