Education is the main structure of the country’s socio-economic development. The development of society and the education system are closely related. A demographic and modern welfare state has considered the responsibility of spreading education as a national task because democracy is based on the development of the education of the people of a country. Different countries provide different education based on tradition and culture and adopt different stages of school and college education to be effective. \u0000India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020), approved by the Indian Union Cabinet on July 29, 2020 based on the recommendations of an expert committee headed by Dr. Kasthuriranjan, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). It replaced the National Policy on Education of 1986. The aim of the policy was to create an education system rooted in Indian values that would directly contribute to the transformation of India by providing quality education to all, thus making India a global educational power. \u0000The current study is conducted in West Tripura District High Schol to analyze the perception of NEP -2020 among teachers. This study will help to increase awareness of NEP-2020 among secondary school teachers and provide teachers NEP 2020 awareness program accordingly for its successful implementation.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129323050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ex post facto research design was adopted for this investigation. Ordinary Least Square was utilized for a regression analysis of the data. According to the results, there is a strong correlation between treasury bills subscription and private sector lending. The research found that the cash reserve ratio correlates highly with private sector lending. The research suggests that the Nigerian government implement measures that would assist deposit money institutions in the country to enhance their lending facilities, particularly for the private sector. To make bank borrowing appealing and inexpensive for investors, the monetary authority must also appropriately handle the quantitative instruments of monetary policy.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134564820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rehabilitation has been identified as a crucial approach in combating drug abuse. However, the implementation of rehabilitation programs by the National Narcotics Agency for North Sumatra Province (BNNP-SU) has faced significant challenges due to the lack of supporting facilities. This study aims to assess the quality of rehabilitation services provided by the North Sumatra National Narcotics Agency and identify the obstacles encountered during the implementation process. A qualitative research method was employed to gain insights into the services offered by the BNNP-SU, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Based on Zeithaml et al.'s theory of service quality, five indicators were utilized: Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. The findings reveal that the rehabilitation services at the North Sumatra BNNP have been suboptimal, primarily due to several obstacles. In terms of tangibles, there is a lack of dedicated counseling rooms, inadequate commitment and involvement from both patients and their parents, counselors' failure to utilize counseling tools during consultations, and insufficient supervisory functions. Regarding reliability, the service providers have not fully utilized rehabilitation tools in the counseling process. The study highlights challenges in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services by the North Sumatra National Narcotics Agency. Immediate action is necessary to address obstacles, including improving counseling facilities, fostering commitment from patients and families, providing proper training on counseling tools, and strengthening supervision. By overcoming these challenges, the BNNP-SU can enhance rehabilitation services and improve drug abuse prevention. Adherence to standard operating procedures and continuous evaluation and improvement are essential for ensuring comprehensive and reliable rehabilitation services.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122618396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A total of 210 copies of the questionnaire were administered among 20 haulage companies, and the retrieved questionnaire was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as frequency counts, percentage and spearman rank. On the drivers’ characteristics, the outcome showed that respondents were driving haulage vehicles in the last 6-10 years (62.9%) and driving 13-16 hours (67.6%) in one trip (86.2%). The analysis revealed that most respondents disagreed with various risk perceptions, such as the skills required for handling haulage vehicles are similar to that of other vehicles (91.9%), and anyone with driving experience can handle haulage vehicles (86.7%). The Spearman Rank analysis revealed that there was no significant relationship between risk perception index and years of driving haulage vehicle (where p-value > 0.05, p= 0.069), duration of driving for the current company (where p-value > 0.05, p= 0.488) and numbers of hours driving daily (where p-value > 0.05, p= 0.094). However, the analysis showed a significant relationship between the risk perception index and the number of trips per day (where p-value < 0.05, p=0.000). The correlation coefficient (r) of the relationship between risk perception and drivers' characteristics was weak and negative (where r = -0.126, -0.048, -0.117 and -0.374, respectively). It was concluded that drivers of the haulage showed positive risk perceptions towards the safety and handling activities related to haulage activities, and how these drivers perceived risk in their activities can influence their driving behaviour.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131768339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is the most populous country in Africa, with a population of about 211 million. Nigeria is a federal republic with three tiers of government: federal, state, and local. Nigeria is a diverse country, with over 250 ethnic groups. This study aims to investigate the forecasting of currencies in circulation (CIC) in Nigeria using the Holt-Winters exponential smoothing method (Additive Holt–Winters Model and Multiplicative Holt–Winters Method). The forecasting data are collected from January 1960 to December 2022. The focus of the study is primarily to determine the optimal forecasting approach while considering the pertinent smoothing parameters and determine which of the forecasting method, either the multiplicative Holt–Winters or additive Holt–Winters is best in forecasting CIC in Nigeria. Furthermore, the study offers prognostic insights regarding CIC in Nigeria. Three experiments were conducted with different parameters (α= 0.2, γ= 0.2, δ= 0.5; α= 0.4, γ= 0.3, δ= 0.1; α= 0.1, γ= 0.1, δ= 0.3) that were randomly generated. The experiment with α= 0.4, γ= 0.3, and δ= 0.1 parameters was the best model for forecasting the variable using both the Additive Holt-Winters model and the Multiplicative Holt-Winters method. Based on the comparison of the accuracy measures, this study concluded that the multiplicative Holt-Winters method outperforms the additive Holt-Winters model in all three measures: MAPE, MAD, and MSD. The multiplicative Holt-Winters method has a significantly lower MAPE (5.97894E+00) compared to the additive Holt-Winters model (9.55758E+02). The forecast of CIC in Nigeria was conducted using the multiplicative Holt-Winters method, and it found that currency in circulation in Nigeria continues to increase as it shows the upper trend.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128174436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
