Avoiding the undesired vibrations in the drill string is one of the essential contributions of scientific research. In this paper, an experimental setup is prepared to simulate the contact phenomenon in the drill string system. A G.U.N.T (PT500) fault demonstrator laboratory rig is used to simulate a horizontal drill string system. This study demonstrates the influence of changing operating speed parameter on contact characteristics and lateral vibration response. Experiments show that a very small increase in the operating speed affects the intensity of chaotic response. Moreover, FFT spectra illustrate several sub-harmonic and super harmonic components of the rotor system.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"795 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139020593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first category, the parameters were determined successively one-by-one based on several approximations. The second category was an extension to the first category but through one-or two-loops for determining one-or two-parameters. Then, the remaining parameters were obtained one-by-one. In the third category, an iterative procedure was presented for simultaneous solution of the describing equations based on assumed initial values of some parameters. The remaining parameters -if any-were determined in terms of those already obtained by iteration. The present paper proposes a method for determining the parameters based on datasheet values at three key points on the module current-voltage (I-V) curve and solution of describing equations of the module with the same well-defined initial values, which serve solution for single-and double-diode models irrespective of module type and rating by using Matlab \"fsolve\" routine. To the authors’ knowledge, one of the formulated equations includes -for the first time-the value of the module maximum power. This value was never considered before by other approaches reported in the literature for evaluating the module parameters. The obtained results confirmed the superiority of the proposed method in assessing the module parameters with higher accuracy than that of other methods reported in the literature. The root-mean-square-deviation from the describing equations records a value of 0.005 against a range from 0.03 to 2.45 by other methods for the same module. As a second check, the percentage deviation of the slope of I-V curve at maximum-power-point from its nominal value reached 0.07% for the proposed method against a range from 0.22 to 44.5 % by other methods. As a third check, the accuracy is evaluated at points different from the key points of the datasheet. The module current value at open-circuit voltage is 0.0029A and closer to zero on using the module parameters predicted by the proposed method when compared with values in a range from -0.23 to + 0.92A obtained by other methods.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"370 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135249498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Incompressible large eddy simulations (LES) with Wall-Adapting Local Eddy-Viscosity (WALE) sub-grid scale model in ANSYS-FLUENT were performed to capture the morphology of the breakup as well as the important flow field characteristics. A volume of fluid (VOF) approach was used to track the unsteady evolution and breakup of the liquid jet. Different results have been analyzed to assess this impact. These results are instantaneous and time-averaged axial velocity, liquid volume fraction, and turbulent kinetic energy. The results are represented in contours and centerline-and radial-profiles. The surrounding gas density is 34.5 kg/m 3 . The nozzle exit diameter is 0.05 mm. Three jet exit-velocities of 50 m/s, 100 m/s and 150 m/s are considered. The results showed that the predicted location, where drops and ligaments are first seen, moves away from the nozzle as the jet velocity increases, where this location was computed as 𝑥 = 3.5𝐷, 6.5𝐷 and 7.5𝐷 for Case50, Case100 and Case150, respectively. Also, the predicted location, where surface waves developed from Kelvin-Helmholtz instability are first seen, moves towards the nozzle as the jet velocity increases, where this location was computed as 𝑥 = 1.6𝐷, 1𝐷 𝑎𝑛𝑑 0.5𝐷 for Case50, Case100 and Case150, respectively. Regarding the jet dispersion angle and the liquid core length, it was found that they increase with increasing the jet exit velocity.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135782015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The active layer of these cells is CH 3 NH 3 SnI 3 . To optimize the performance of the proposed PSC, different materials for Electron Transport Layers (ETLs) were simulated. Additionally, the impact of thickness, doping concentration, and doping concentration profile on device performance was investigated using a 1D-Solar Cell Capacitance Simulator. According to the simulation results, the optimal thicknesses of the ETL and the absorber were 30 nm and 1000 nm respectively, resulting in a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 31.08 %. The proposed HTL-free CH 3 NH 3 SnI 3 .-based PSC attained an open circuit voltage of 1.1037 V, a short-circuit current density of 31.749 𝑚𝐴/𝑐𝑚 2 , and a fill factor of 88.7 %. These results may help in the creation of highly effective and reasonably priced solar cells by providing insight into the design and optimization of HTL-free PSCs. Given that it provides a simple and inexpensive method of producing high-performance solar cells, the suggested PSC structure has the potential to be a viable replacement for traditional PSCs with HTL.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"193 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135248218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The microgrid generally consists of multiple distributed generators interfacing with the grid through power inverters. When the islanded microgrids are concerned, it is essential to maintain the system stability and achieve load power sharing among the multiple parallel-connected distributed generation units. However, poor active and reactive power-sharing is expected due to the influence of impedance mismatch of the distributed generation feeders. The key objective of this work is to estimate the virtual impedance value to nullify the power-sharing errors without the need for communication links. A fuzzy logic controller is proposed to estimate the value for virtual impedance based on the instantaneous real and reactive power demands. The virtual impedance dynamically changes depending on the load demand to compensate for the feeder impedance mismatch, hence called adaptive virtual impedance. The proposed power-sharing control strategies are validated using Matlab/Simulink simulation under four operational scenarios. The proposed fuzzy controller provides precise reactive power sharing and helps to eliminate the need for communication links. In addition, it provides superior dynamic performance.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"193 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135249525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By analyzing the behavior of crowds and their motion patterns through their interaction with the surrounding environment, designers can identify potential issues and implement solutions to improve safety and efficiency while enhancing urban spaces. The aim of the study is to understand the crowd behavior and movement patterns at the road between Arafat and Muzdalifah during peak times of Hajj to identify prospective overcrowding zones and problems. This has been accomplished through the study use of visual observation, video analysis, and crowd simulation modelling. The study tests the crowd behavior that heavily influenced by the physical urban features, barriers, and surrounding services. The study suggests several recommended interventions for better urban design solutions to improve pedestrian crowd flow for better crowd management. These interventions could be used as guidelines for urban designers and planners to create safer and more efficient pedestrian spaces during similar crowd situations.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135248367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researchers presented several different proposals and classifications. The controversy among researchers dates back to the multiplicity of names that were given to them even though they provide the same services. There was also a difference in the size and level of service and the diversity of sites. Therefore, this research will present the different attempts of researchers to classify the logistic zones and the bases on which they relied and try to classify the logistic zones In a quantitative way, using the statistical program spss, based on the classification bases that researchers relied on, and studying this on 35 different regions in many countries of the world.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135249533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Biomimicry is a design methodology that combines nature and technology. It uses the principles of nature as a way of thinking to create a resilient and sustainable built environment. In addition to, it is an innovative approach that simulate biological process, shapes, and systems to reach sustainable and resilient solutions. In the other hand, resilience in buildings is the ability to meet the human needs and provide for safe, steady, and comfortable use to change conditions outside. The term \"resilience of design building\" refers to its resistance, recoverability, and adaptability, the latter of which is generally associated with outside circumstances. This research aims to engage in design using biomimicry methodologies and resilience principles. Also answering the following question: How can use biomimicry for achieving and creating resilient buildings? The research also emphasizes how to access the principles of resilient design in biomimicry buildings by studying biomimicry approach meaning, levels of biomimicry, inspiration methodology in biomimicry approach, and resilient buildings meaning. Finally, the basic points and principles for the design of resilient buildings are applied to engage them with design by using biomimicry methodologies by analysis and discussing of 4 biomimicry projects. The projects are Beijing National Aquatic Center “the water cube”, Milwaukee Art Museum, Beijing National Stadium “Bird’s Nest Stadium”, and Tao Zhu Yin Yuan “known as Agora Garden”.
