More experimental studies are required for understanding the real behaviour of modified concrete with Nano-graphene. In this paper, fifty-two tested specimens with different Nano-graphene types and different ratios were tested to study the behaviour of modified concrete specimens containing Nano-particles at various water-cement ratios. The specimens' dimensions were 100 mm 100 mm 400 mm. twelve tested specimens are control. In the first group, twenty tested specimens were prepared by adding Graf Pro nano graphene particles with ratios equal to 0.5% and 1% of cement weight. In the second group, ten specimens were prepared by adding (Graf Pro + Graf Max (9:1)) nano graphene particles with ratio equal to 0.50% of cement weight. In the third group, ten tested specimens were prepared by adding Graf Max nano graphene particles with ratio equal to 0.50% of cement weight. All these specimens at w/c=0.35 and 0.4. Comparison between the tested control specimens and results of tested specimens containing Nano-particles was done. The flexural and compression testing were recorded. The results showed that the use of Nano-particles enhances the microstructure of concrete by filling the harmful pores and dandifying the microstructure of cement paste. Finally, the Nano-particles resulted in significant increase in the flexural and compressive strength of concrete.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"29 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139188766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ordinary Kriging methods are geostatistical approaches that incorporate spatial autocorrelation and generate estimated surfaces from scattered sets of points through minimizing the errors between the predicted values and the statistical model of the surface (Maune and Nayegandhi, 2018). This research aimed at comparative analysis of the DTMs created from ground surveying digital elevation data through exploitation of the different models of the ordinary kriging. DTMs have been created from ground surveying sample data using t ordinary kriging models. Statistical analysis of the DTMs indicated that Gaussian model DTM depicts the smallest standard deviation of elevations. Healthcare facilities, in particular, represent a critical sector where sustainable design can have far-reaching benefits, considering their large energy consumption, waste generation, and impact on human health. This research study aims to explore the principles and strategies for sustainable environmental design in healthcare buildings, considering energy efficiency, water conservation, material selection, indoor environmental quality, and overall environmental impact. The findings of this research will contribute to the development of guidelines and best practices for designing healthcare facilities that prioritize environmental sustainability while also supporting the health and well-being of patients, staff, and the community , Furth ermore, it underscores the potential for healthcare buildings to act as exemplars of sustainability, fostering healthier environments for patients, staff, and the surrounding community. In fact, what could be contradictory to the Egyptian fascination towards the Moderization charisma, is foreigners’ empathy about the Pharaonic architecture, which has long fascinated subsequent cultures. Nonetheless, the remarkable fact is that only a scattering of buildings show Neo-Pharaonic influence in Egypt. So, our understanding of the development of the styles, and characteristic features remains stylistically and characteristically partially discovered and investigated. During such overlapping process of transition, a new field for research to be explored: the Nationalist Neo-Pharaonic style, introduced and adopted by the Egyptian Patriotic Movement, and which was influenced by the Neo-Classical and Modern features. This paper also attempts to understand why this style was so short lived by analysing 20 th century Egyptian Neo-Pharaonic buildings. In this paper, selected Egyptian buildings designed according to the Neo-Pharaonic influences will be high-lighted, and analyzed from the point of view of morphology of form, architectural elements and details, in order to delineate appropriations that occurred to 20 th century Western architecture. The analysis is applied against a backdrop of political, social and historical influences resulting in three categories: the Neo-Classical, Nationalist, and Abstract Pharaonic. Thereupon, the paper discovers the main characteristic features of such style, which appears to have been the domineering architectural style during the first half of the 20 th century. The analysis shows that because this style was derived and developed in Europe, it was alien in its own homeland. Ironically, the Neo-Pharaonic became a difficult, external, and exotic style for Egypt.","PeriodicalId":161226,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Journal","volume":"42 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139193802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over 30% of Europeans experience unwanted sound, especially in intensively urbanized areas (12). Noise can interfere with residential and community amenity and the utility of noise-sensitive land uses. Noise exposure can lead to a range of adverse effects including sleep disturbance and annoyance, impairing cognitive learning in children at school, psychological disorders, negative effects on the auditory system, obesity and an increase in the risk of cardiovascular effects (8), for these reasons the impact of noise can be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications and sustainable development. A lot of factors associated to urban planning have a considerable effect on volume of traffic, vehicles distribution, traffic conditions, and it is known that, from a temporal and spatial point of view, the most important source of noise in cities is road traffic (19). The World Health Organization (WHO) had estimated the burden of disease from traffic-related noise within the western part of Europe and concluded that on each year there is a loss at least one million disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)(38). Good acoustic design seeks to encourage and promote design outcomes that are proportionate to each development site, so the planning system has the task of guiding development to the most appropriate locations. It will be hard to reconcile some land uses, such as housing, hospitals or schools, with other activities which generate high levels of noise, but the planning system should ensure that, noise-sensitive developments must be sited away from major sources of noise (such as road, rail , air transport and certain types of industrial development)(22). The main aim of this study is the approach regarding the noise problem solution, instead of studying sound insulation materials and techniques, it focuses more on general urban planning regarding the shape of buildings, street orientations, positioning new parks , constructing earth embankments and traffic congestion control in order to reduce the noise impact on the citizens outside and inside their homes.
