This study was performed with a qualitative and quantitative approach which details and evidence were surveyed via Google form and described from semi-structure interview to investigate environmental factors that impact EFL online teaching and learning in university and home contexts. The results indicate the success of implementing EFL online teaching in Indonesian higher education is highly dependent on the proficiency and readiness of lecturers in teaching transition, media preferences as teaching medium during project-based model is fully and blended learning approaches and institutional support during teaching adaptation. However, there are not many studies of local history to be implemented in history learning. Thus, the purpose of this study was to find the values of character education in the material for the struggle of K.H. Ahmad Hanafiah in defending Indonesian independence in the Lampung Residency and its implementation in learning local history. The method used is a qualitative research method with historical studies. This study uses primary and secondary sources and uses interviews as reinforcement. The results of the study are: (1) K.H. Ahmad Hanafiah as a local figure who fought to defend Indonesia’s independence in Lampung Residency, (2) The values of character education contained in the material include: religious attitude, hard work, curiosity, love for the homeland, national spirit, and independence, (3) These character values can be implemented in local history learning through the Class XI lesson plans covering the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation in high school. It is hoped that students can imitate the figure of a K.H. Ahmad Hanafiah, especially for those who live in the Lampung area, and apply it in their lives both now and in the future. COVID-19 is now a major international public health crisis for our people, communities, and economies. It has infections and deaths reported worldwide. Learning through distance education is no longer optional;it is now a requirement. The goal of this study is to figure out the lecturers' and learners' perspectives on distance education, including their views on the benefits, drawbacks, and ways to strengthen the programs used throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was carried out in a qualitative manner. To obtain in-depth information, data was obtained from open-ended questions, interview google forms. In Northern Cyprus, this google form was distributed to students and lecturers. The results obtained show that the advantages of distance education learning outnumbered the disadvantages during this pandemic. In the education field, it is expected to instill students with adequate knowledge and critical thinking skills, which are needed for their future. Practicing critical thinking skills can be done with mobile applications because today’s students are highly familiar with gadgets. In terms of education, students need a learning platform that is equipped with audio, images, and easy-to-understand text. To accommodate this, an Android-based application was designed to provide learning steps, such as analyzing, obtaining information, asking questions, and making conclusions. This study is a qualitative descriptive study using the ADDIE (analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating) method. It includes material analysis, application design with smart apps creator (SAC), testing by media and materials experts, and overall evaluation. The trial of this application was carried out on 3 rd -grade elementary school students with questionnaires and interviews. Based on the validation process by IT experts and elementary school teachers, the development of the situation-based learning (SBL) App was considered valid. In other words, this application was properly designed according to the development of lower-grade students. This study also aims to analyze the effect of principal's performance, teacher competence and school climate on teacher's performance. In addition, this paper investigates the mediating role of teacher competence and school climate on the relationship of principal's performance and teacher's performance. The sample in this study was schoolteachers in Central Java. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The research respondents were 200 public and private teachers consisting of elementary, junior high, and senior high school teachers. The data collection method used was questionnaire. The questionnaires were distributed online via google forms. The data analysis method used was path analysis. The results showed that the principal's performance was in the good category in terms of five dimensions (managerial, supervision, entrepreneurship, social, and personality). The principal's performance significantly influences the teacher's performance. The principal's performance is also a significant determinant of school climate, although it has not been proven to significantly influence teacher competence. Other results indicate that school climate and teacher competence are significant determinants of teacher performance. School climate and teacher competence have a mediating role in the relationship between principal's performance and teacher performance. The implication of this research is the importance of improving the performance of school principals during the pandemic because it will be able to significantly determine the school climate and teacher's performance. Strengthening the performance of school principals can be done by providing regular direction and monitoring by authorized parties such as school supervisors, education offices, and other officials. © 2022,Pegem Egitim ve Ogretim Dergisi. Good technology readiness will support learning and have an impact on student learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the influence of fourth grade elementary school students' technology readiness on their online learning outcomes in the new normal era. The current research was conducted using a quantitative method through a survey on 93 elementary school students in Kretek District, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Samples were taken randomly using an incidental system from all fourth grade elementary school students with a population of 122 students. The technology readiness data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire containing 20 statements, while data on learning outcomes were gathered from the students' final exam results. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that technology readiness had a positive influence on student learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing using a simple linear regression test revealed that at a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05), the t-calculated (8.496) > t table (1.701). Thus, it can be concluded that technology readiness has a significant effect on fourth grade students' learning outcomes in the new normal era. It can be concluded that technology readiness has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of fourth grade students in the new normal era. The aspect of technology readiness supports students' ability to manage digital learning resources, digital platforms, and learning devices. The learning process using digital learning resources will run optimally and have an impact on the achievement of learning outcome. © 2023, Pegem Egitim ve Ogretim Dergisi.
