N170 responses at the T5 and T6 sites were synchronized with the vertex positive potential (VPP) response at the Cz site, and the N170 responses were increased under masked conditions, which may be associated with amodal completion. The facial emotion recognizer as a general classifier was then tested for predicting masked facial expressions. This classifier’s accuracies were greatly lower for faces with masks than without masks.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125244107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Associating comic texts and characters using these approaches is informative for commercial activities such as speech synthesis and automatic translation of texts. In this study, we address the task of associating a text with a speaker in comics. It is challenging to correspond between them because these are not self-evidently attached, and few studies have attempted. These previous studies have less considered the continuity of comics such as narrative flow or contextual information. We assume that considering the continuity of comics is effective for speaker estimation. This paper proposes algorithms for estimating the reading order of frames or texts, and it also proposes methods for estimating speakers based on these orders. As a result, our proposed method improves accuracy compared to previous methods. Consideration of the frame order is an effective clue to the comic speaker estimation.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121115768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The advent of COVID-19 in 2020 has led to the rapid spread of telework, and the current state of widespread use may be attributed to transient factors as a counter to the spread of COVID-19 infection. A current problem is that dealing with the emergence of risks has been postponed or overlooked because telework was hastily promoted and introduced even though sufficient preparations had not been made. In this work, we conducted a risk assessment from the viewpoints of both companies and employees to identify 28 risk factors and proposed countermeasures for these factors in order to make teleworking permanently safe and secure in the new normal era. The results revealed that the introduction of Mobile Device Management (MDM) to teleworking terminals is effective as the main countermeasure on the corporate side. The study also clarified that the establishment of various systems related to the telework environment and the use of cloud computing are effective as measures for both companies and employees. We also evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed risk measures in terms of risk values and found that these could be reduced by approximately 61%. Our findings will contribute to the safe and secure use of telework in the new normal era.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121350429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some countries compensate these farmers based on the validation to the victim’s claims. In this paper, we study two deep learning-based methods that can verify these claims from the geo-tagged photographs sent by the farmers of their farms at the time of the disaster. Moreover, we demonstrate and compare the efficiency of the two methods: pixel-based semantic segmentation using DeepLabv3+ and an object-based scene recognition method using PlacesCNN. Both of the methods are powered by ResNet architecture backbones. Due to the unavailability of existing datasets for agricultural scenes, especially for the paddy farms, we prepare our own training dataset to train the Deeplabv3+ model and use an existing dataset for the PlacesCNN model. We further create a decision-based method framework that allows us to predict flood and drought from several other classes. The DeepLabv3+ and PlacesCNN-based methods achieve an accuracy of 89.09% and 93.64% respectively. Our experiments show that the object-based method is superior to the pixel-based approach in terms of accuracy, data preparation, computational speed and expense.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122827865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, obtaining congruent media content is difficult. Interactive Evolutionary Computation (IEC) is known as an effective approach to obtain good solutions for each user. However, conventional IECs treat single media types. This study proposes new Interactive Evolutionary Computation that searches the congruent media content in terms of a good combination of different types of media content. In the proposed IEC, the solution candidate contains different media types as its variables. A system was constructed by employing a genetic algorithm to investigate the effectiveness of the IEC with experiment. The target of creation was the congruent content composed of music and scent. Twelve participants evaluated a set of musical melodies and scents repeatedly. As results, a trend of increase in the mean fitness and significant increase in maximum fitness were observed in the search experiment. However, enough increase in the fitness was not observed in the evaluation experiment.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129710226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adversarial examples have been studied mainly in the field of image recognition, but recently they have been applied to other fields, including time series data. Perturbations are usually added to all regions of the data, but in the case of time series data, adding to the entire series would result in unnatural data. In this study, we show that it is possible to generate less unnatural adversarial examples for the time series data classification problem by partially using perturbations generated by existing attack methods. We also experiment with evaluating the performance and show that for some datasets, even if the range of the perturbations is 1/10, the attack is still possible with almost no degradation in attack performance.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129172677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the symbolic computing model on which the information technologies that support the Internet, is 70 plus years old and is based on Alan Turing’s observation of how humans compute numbers using symbols. New insights from the general theory of information (GTI) provide a path to go from symbolic computing to supersymbolic computing based on knowledge structures and operations on them to improve the stability and safety of computing structures. Second, the Internet evolved from a vision that \"envisioned a globally interconnected set of computers through which everyone could quickly access data and programs from any site\" and the operations and management aspect of a global and complex operational infrastructure required to support stable, safe, secure and highly available services such as scale, performance, and higher-level functionality were add-ons. In this paper, we take the cue from biological systems that manage their stability, security, and resource optimization to accomplish their goals and apply the tools of GTI to propose and explore a service-oriented Internet architecture that improves the process operation & management in connecting people, things, and businesses with improved safety and security.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"64 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120907674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A chance-constrained stochastic mixed-integer program (SMIP) is used in the formulation to express the uncertain conditions that generally present difficulties during the computation. We introduce a cutting-plane method to carry out the calculations, and include valid inequalities to restrict the feasible region for the ease of finding suitable solutions. In addition, we utilize a linear approximation for the quadratic objective function that significantly improves the computational efficiency by reducing the complexity of the problem. The results indicate that the SMIP proposed in this study can be calculated within a short time where the chance constraints are satisfied in all the solutions.","PeriodicalId":156230,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121183643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
