This research was conducted in SMP N 37 Medan for students in grade VII which consists of 30 students. This study followed the steps of research and development proposed by Borg and Gall (1983), which are 1) need analysis; 2) planning (develop preliminary form of product); 3) Collecting data; 4) designing media; 4) media evaluation; 5) revising (designing final product). It was found that 96.66% students agreed that the existing an interactive learning medium currently used by the students of Junior High School. The more relevant media were developed based on student needs, which can provide opportunities for students to participate in the classroom. The learning media were developed into 4 media based on 4 units of speaking materials. Then the learning media were validated by two experts. The average score of the validation was 90. The result of this study was developed Video Blog   which contained explanation, students’ activities and the example of report text in spoken.The average scores of media’s assesment were 4.04 from English teacher and 4.56 from English lecturer. The study was conducted by applying a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of the research were the students of senior high school at SMA Budisatrya Medan. The data were the students’ writing that were analyzed by using Fraser Taxonomy (1999). It was fond that the students used 7 out 8 types of discourse markers. Furthermore, the data were also analyzed by using Kao & Chen Taxonomy (2011). It was also fond that the students used 3 out 6 types of misuse patterns of discourse markers. The research was conducted by Research and Development (R & D) design through six stages; gathering information and data, analyzing the data, designing new writing media, validating to experts, revising writing media, and final product. The subject of this research was grade eighth students at SMP Negeri 27 Medan. The instruments used for collecting the data were interview and questionnaire. The data were gathered by administering interview to the English teacher and distributing questionnaire to 30 respondents to get the students’ needs in learning descriptive text. The writing media have been validated by two experts, English teacher and English lecturer. The average score from English teacher and English lecturer was 90,4% so it was categorized as Very Good. The objectives of this study were to find out to improve the students’ ability in writing paragraph of grade VIII students by using quickwriting strategy. Data data of the research was taken from the secondary grade of Junior High School Students at SMP Swasta Pahlawan Nasional Medan, which is taken from one class, contain 33 student. The data in this research collected by using interview and questionnaire. The interview and questionnaire will be given to collect the students’ need, problem and interesting in learning English, particularly in writing and using quick writing in teaching and learning.  In the teaching-learning process the teacher should prepare before conducting the lesson. The first is classroom procedures in teaching-learning process. Classroom procedures used by English teacher are opening, quickwriting, main activities (exploration-elaboration-confirmation), closing. There are some problems faced in the teaching-learning process. The problems faced are problem in developing idea, organizing idea, difficulties in vocabulary, tenses, and grammar, different capability of the students, and limited time. The consequently, the teacher should give solutions to cope the problems faced in teaching-learning process. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Medan. The research procedures of this study is Research and Development (R&D) through three phases : 1) evaluation and need analysis, 2) course design, and 3) materials validation. The instruments used were questionnaire, interview and documentation sheet. The data from evaluation and need analysis were analyzed by using descriptive technique and the data from expert judgement results were using quantitative data analysis. The result of this study is a course book of speaking materials by using digital storytelling project which consist of title, objective, introduction, observing, practices and reflection. The materials consist of three units, they are What Is Your Opinion, How May I Help You? and You Are Loved. Moreover, it had a goal to develop English materials for learning writing skills. This is a research and development (R&D) study. The subjects of this research were 25 students of Grade X SMA SWASTA MARISI MEDAN. The need analysis data were collected by using questionnaires and an interview. Then, the results of questionnaires were calculated through percentage. Thus, the highest percentage was considered as the needs of students. Meanwhile, the results of expert judgment were analyzed in the form of descriptive statistics. Three units of materials were developed in this research. Each unit consists of introduction, main lesson and reinforcement. These materials used Project-Based  Learning as the approach in learning writing skill. The units covered some tasks as identify the generic structure, write a short paragraph and complete the sentences. Mostly, the themes used represented students’ knowledge about the popular places and person around them. This research belongs to Research and Development (R&D) study through seven phases; gathering information and data, analyzing the data, writing the course grid, writing the first draft, getting the experts’ judgement, revising the worksheet and writing the final draft. The subject of this research were 42 students of grade X Senior High School Teladan Medan. There were two questionnaires employed[1] in this research: (1) need analysis questionnaire which distributed to the students and (2) worksheet evaluation questionnaire which distributed to the worksheet experts to evaluate the speaking worksheet. The data obtained from the need analysis questionnaire were analyzed using frequency and percentage, while the data from evaluation questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistic. This research developed six units of speaking worksheet. The speaking worksheet for grade X students of Senior High School Teladan Medan consists of Observing, Questioning, Exploring, Associating and Communicating stages. Based on the experts’ judgement of the content, the language, the presentation and the graphic, the develop speaking worksheet is appropriate to be used for grade X students’ of Senior High School Teladan Medan. The aim of this study were to state clearly the objectives of the study in relation of the problems posed. The objective was to describe how the pattern of IRF in the classroom interaction for computer students. This research used qualitative research. The data were collected in three ways by observing by video recording, interviewing and questionnaire. The data was analyzed based on Sinclair and Coulthard theory (1975). The result of this study were the following (1) The language used by the teacher and the students in the classroom interaction was not balance. Both teacher and students used bahasa for 70% and the rest 30% for English. (2) There was the lowest pattern responded by student. It had 20% responses given to the students because the students made many mistakes in pronouncing some words when they read the text. The teacher feedback was the dominat pattern in the classroom interaction rather than initiation. It was conducted by using experimental research design. The Population of this research was the tenth (X) grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Merawan. There were two classes as the sample. The first class (X MIA 1), the experimental group consisted of 20 students, and the second class (X IS 1), the control group consisted of 20 students. The experimental group was taught by using rich media-guided writing strategy while control group was taught by using pen and paper-guided writing strategy. The instrument for collecting the data was writing test. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The analysis showed that the score of students in the experimental group by using rich media guided writing strategy was higher than the score of students in the control group by using pen and paper guided writing strategy, at the level of significance (α) 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) 38, the t-observed was 2,818 while the t-table was 2,024.
