In Cameroon, IoT is not yet very widespread. We use it here to monitor and prevent urban fires in real time, using a set of temperature, humidity, gas, flame and electrical power sensors that are integrated on NodeMCU, in view to detect fire starts and generate an alert. The data collected is stored and processed on Thing Speak; a second analysis is carried out locally. After calibrating the sensors, we analyzed the data and carried out a correlation test to identify the most sensitive data for the alert system. These individuals with disabilities include persons with visual impairment. Visual impairment has a devastating effect with deep emotional and economic complications. The loss of vision after an illness or trauma causes major changes in lifestyle and habits which may results to problems in psychological adjustment. This study investigated “Vocational rehabilitation as a correlate to personality development of persons with visual impairment in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon”. To achieve the objective of the study, the specific objectives used were; to evaluate the relationship between vocational guidance and counselling and the personality development of persons with visual impairment, to assess the relationship between Orientation and mobility and the personality development of persons with visual impairment. The study adopted a correlational survey design with the sample of 30 persons who had gone through vocational rehabilitation. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages and the Pearson moment correlation test to establish the relationship between vocational rehabilitation and personality development. The findings showed that there exist a moderately strong and positive relationship between vocational guidance and counselling and personality development of persons with visual impairment (P=0.049, <0.05). . Findings equally affirmed that there exist a very significant strong and positive relationship between orientation and mobility and personality development of persons with visual impairment (P=0.001, <0.05). Based on the findings, some recommendations were made that policy makers should formulate rules and policies governing the welfare of persons with visual impairment in choosing careers they like. Microstructural evaluation using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and mineralogical identification using x-ray diffraction (XRD) was also accomplished to understand the structure-property relationship. In analysing the observed data, variance analysis was employed to determine the statistical significance of the factors on the responses and regression equations showing correlations were developed. The observed data were shown to accept the null hypothesis for hardness, compression modulus and compressive strength, while flexural strength and energy at break rejected the null hypothesis judging by the p-value. The flexural strength showed a good correlation, but the influence of firing temperature and residue was minimal. However, both factors' square was shown to influence the flexural strength considerably. This work shows some required detailed transformation of Schrodinger’s Equation into a form of Newtonian second law of motion with definite trajectory with some initial conditions given. The general objective of this study is to assess the adoption of improved cassava varieties among small scale farmers in Apac District, Uganda. It utilized cross-sectional farm household level data collected in 2020 from a randomly selected sample of 120 cassava producing households from four sub-counties. Data were subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis such as frequencies, means, Chi-square test, Tobit and Logit regression models. Results revealed that majority (66.7%) of the respondents grow improved cassava varieties. NASE 14 is the most (59.2%) highly adopted compared to NASE2 (9.2%), NASE1 (9.2%), NAROCAS1 (6.6%) and NAROCAS2 (15.8%) varieties. Farmer’s level of education, access to extension services and marital status showed a positive and significant (P≤0.01), (P≤0.01), and (P≤0.05) influence on adoption of improved cassava varieties, respectively. Years of farming, access to credit, farm size, and farmer’s age showed a negative relationship with adoption improved cassava varieties. Coefficient of access to extension services (P≤0.01), farm size (P≤0.05) and farming experience (P≤0.05) positively and significantly influenced perception of farmers towards improved cassava varieties, whereas distance from the nearest market (P≤0.05) and age (P≤0.05) negatively and significantly influenced perceptions for farmers. It enriches the interest of the learners by providing sufficient sustenance while he/she is in the stage of learning. This study determined the involvement of parents in modular distance learning of students in the northern part of Mindanao particularly in the division of Surigao del Sur amidst covid -19 pandemic. The study pursued answers on the contributory factors extended by parents and their involvement on the aspect of communication; learning at home; and financial support. The respondents of the study were the parents and students of the three selected schools in the division of Surigao del Sur. A validated researchers-made questionnaire checklist was used as the main tool in determining the extent of parental involvement to modular distance learning amidst covid-19 pandemic. Responses of parents and students were recorded and interpreted using appropriate statistical tool. Analysis showed that parent respondents are aware of their role especially in molding their child’s future, despite of their educational background and economic status.
