The method used in this study is the educational research and development model, including preliminary investigation, design realization/construction, test, evaluation, and revision and implementation. The results showed that the results of the analysis of user responses to the Engine Management System (EMS) learning media that had been developed at each stage consisted of one-on-one trials, limited group trials, and field trials. Then it can be stated that EMS learning media consistently gets very good responses from users. This means that the EMS learning trainer media can be used in learning EMS courses. Likewise, the tendency of student learning outcomes in the Limited Group Trial is in the high learning achievement category. This is indicated by the acquisition of student learning outcomes in the high category in each one-on-one tryout, limited group tryout, and field test. Thus, EMS learning trainer media is effectively used in EMS learning.","PeriodicalId":153770,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Science & Technoledge","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116320291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Maintaining the freshness of leaves is a challenge due to their very low shelf life. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the nutritional quality of Moringa oleifera leaves by cost-effective preservation methods. \u0000Samples of raw, sundried, oven-dried, and brine-preserved Moringa oleifera leaves were investigated for % proximate compositions based on AOAC methods. The antioxidant potential was analyzed via DPPH assay. \u0000The moisture content was significantly (p<0.05) reduced from 40.37±0.08% (fresh) to 27.48±0.20% for Moringa oleifera in brine. Ash content was significantly (p<0.05) reduced from 9.12±0.03% (fresh) to 8.63±0.15% (sun-dried), 8.17±0.08% (oven dried), 7.60±0.08% (in brine). Crude protein content of Moringa oleifera in brine (in bottles) significantly (p<0.05) increased to 26.53±0.06% from 26.50±0.05% (fresh), 24.17±0.13% (sundried), 23.34±0.24% (oven dried). Crude fat content was significantly (p<0.05) reduced from 6.33±0.10% (fresh) to 5.26±0.09% (sun-dried), 4.30±0.15% (oven dried), 3.55 ±0.12% (in brine). Crude fiber content was significantly (p<0.05) reduced from 9.63±0.09% (fresh) to 8.47±0.08% (sun-dried), 8.17±0.03% (oven dried), 6.83±0.14% (in brine). Total carbohydrate content was significantly (p<0.05) increased from 8.20±0.29% (fresh) to 45.90±0.32% (sun-dried), 52.60±0.36% (oven dried), 26.01±0.17% (in brine). \u0000The highest antioxidant potential was recorded in Moringa oleifera leaves in brine. (IC50 value is 54.6). \u0000Therefore, Moringa oleifera leaves in brine are a product that enhances the quality of nutrients while increasing its shelf life. Sun-dried and oven-dried Moringa oleifera leaf powder is also a cost-effective way of preservation.","PeriodicalId":153770,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Science & Technoledge","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129760400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to estimate market integration in Khartoum State, Sudan. The study depended mainly on secondary data obtained from relevant sources. The study used descriptive analysis, Box-Jenkins Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA), and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) time series analysis. The results of the time series analysis indicated that the prices of tomatoes were stable and variable throughout the year, reflecting a seasonal pattern. The results of the co-integration analysis indicated the strong integration among the different tomato markets in Sudan, with Khartoum and Port Sudan having 85% and Khartoum and Zalingei markets having a 67% level of co-integration. The study concluded that despite the poorly organized marketing system, the tomato market channel is well-integrated as prices tend to move up and down together in all markets of Sudan. The study recommended the encouragement of production and marketing cooperatives for farmers and traders under the close supervision and management of concerned institutions, ministries, and national and commercial banks and the introduction of adequate and appropriate transportation vehicles and packaging material for tomatoes.","PeriodicalId":153770,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Science & Technoledge","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128738287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since it reached its first criticality in 1986, the BTRR has been used for nuclear research, instruction, training, and the manufacture of radionuclides for around 815 megawatt days without any core reloading or fuel reshuffling. The individual and ring-by-ring fuel burn-up and the core excess reactivity of BTRR have been studied utilizing the TRIGLAV code. The calculated outcomes of the TRIGLAV code and the outcomes of the MVP-BURN code are contrasted. To validate the TRIGLAV code for BTRR core analysis, the initial criticality and operational core analysis metrics like effective multiplication factor and excess reactivity were calculated using the TRIGLAV code. The results from TRIGLAV were compared with experimental data and other codes' output data and showed excellent agreement between them. Actual operational data is contrasted with core excess reactivity data. While the core excess reactivity data will forecast the core life, the collected fuel burn-up information can be used to forecast the core life. The collected fuel burn-up data can be utilized to reload or reorder the fuel. The BTRR may be used safely for an additional 500 MWD by the burn-up and excess reactivity requirements, according to the calculated fuel burn-up, identification of the hottest fuel rod, and excess reactivity value.","PeriodicalId":153770,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Science & Technoledge","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132756542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This procedure is an important part of completing the process and well plugging for abandonment. Retarders are one of the most important additives in oil well cementing if the desired pumping time of cementitious slurry is to be achieved. These retarders can be extracted from natural sources or chemically synthesized. However, synthesized retarders can have significant environmental effects. Thus, this study evaluated the efficiency of cassava peel powder as a biocompatible retarder in oil well cementing and its cement slurry properties.Cement slurry was prepared, and the thickening time and rheology were tested according to API RP 10B2 (2005) procedures. The performance of cassava peel powder as an oil well cementing retarder was tested at various concentrations and temperatures. Its retardation property was compared with those of a commonly used lignosulfonate-based and a synthetic retarder, respectively. The results obtained at various concentrations of the retarders showed that the thickening time for cassava powder at 70Bc was 02hr: 17mins for 0.03% by weight of cement (%bwoc), 02hr: 20mins for 0.06% and 02hrs:32mins for 0.1%bwoc. The results for lignosulfonate-based retarder are 02hr: 19mins for 0.03%, 02hr: 30mins for 0.06% and 03hr: 02mins for 0.1% bwoc. For the synthetic retarder, the results are 02hr: 29mins for 0.03%, 02hr: 31mins for 0.06%, and 02hr: 51 mins for 0.1% bwoc. These results suggest that the retarding ability of cassava peel powder in oil well cementing is much comparable with those of the existing retarders. It was also observed that cassava peel demonstrates a high-performance concentration response without hampering other cement properties.","PeriodicalId":153770,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Science & Technoledge","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129930452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The universities in Tanzania found themselves with no option but to make use of e-learning like any other public university in the world to support students away from them. There are various e-learning technologies, and according to the various studies reviewed, universities use an amalgamation of e-learning technologies to support the teaching and learning processes. These technologies disorient the users when they want to integrate them during the teaching and learning process. The study adopted a case study design based on the University of Dar es Salaam. The study applied stratified sampling techniques to group the students based on the year of study and simple random sampling was used to get a sample of 392 based on the strata. A questionnaire was used as the tool to get data from the respondents. The aim of this study was to: Calibrate the CROPGRO-cowpea model of DSSAT for four cowpea varieties, and Validate the model using a data set collected under drought stress For this purpose, experiments were carried out in 2020 and 2021 dry seasons in Burkina Faso at Kamboinsin in the Centre of Environmental and Agricultural Research and Training (CREAF). The model calibration was done using data including days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, above-ground biomass, and grain yield per hectare collected from an experiment without water and nutrient stress, and the GenCalc software was used for estimating the genetic coefficients of the varieties. Data from two drought stress treatments, such as D1: drought at seedling stage, and D2: drought at flowering stage, were used for validating the model. The results of the calibration showed that the model excellently simulated the days to flowering with a normalized root mean square error (nRMSE) of less than 10% and a high degree of agreement for all the varieties. The simulation of the days to physiological maturity was excellent for 50% of the varieties (nRMSE<10%) and good for the others (10 < nRMSE < 20%). The simulation of the grain yield per hectare ranged from excellent to good. Poor prediction of the above-ground biomass was attained for 75% of the varieties (nRMSE ≥ 40%), while the fair simulation was recorded for 25% (nRMSE=27%) during the model calibration. The statistics of the validation process showed an excellent simulation of the days to flowering (nRMSE= 1.85%; R2=0.98; d-index=0.99) and a good prediction of the days to maturity (nRMSE=13.82; R2=0.87; d-index=0.53) for all the varieties. Simulated above-ground biomass was in poor agreement with the observed values (nRMSE=106.62%; R2=0.92; d-index=0.36). Fair prediction of the grain yield by the model was achieved during the validation (nRMSE = 27%). From these results, it can be concluded that the DSSAT model can be considered an efficient tool for predicting cowpea phenology, growth, and yield in optimum conditions of development. However, in drought stress conditions, the sensitivity or tolerance status to the drought of the variety can reduce the accuracy of the grain yield prediction by the model.","PeriodicalId":153770,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Science & Technoledge","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122020325","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A multistage random sampling technique was employed to select 110 respondents. The data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of the study indicated that most of the respondents are small-scale rice farmers and were youth, accounting for 38% of the respondents. The analysis further indicated that seed, fertilizer, labor, and herbicide were determinants of Rice production in the study area and are significant at 1%, 1%, 10%, and 10%, respectively. The result further shows that seed, fertilizer, and herbicide were underutilized while labor was over-utilized.
