Body composition consisted of many compartments of muscle mass and types of fat mass. This study aims to analyse the association between body composition (muscle mass and fat mass) and physical performance as sarcopenia indicator among elderly in the nursing home. We examined the skeletal muscle mass index (SMI), grip strength (GS) and walking speed (WS) as sarcopenia indicator. For muscle mass area, we measured whole, arms, legs, and trunk skeletal. We also measured body fat, visceral fat, and subcutaneous fat as component of fat mass. A total of 54 elderly (75.9 % was female) participated with mean age was 71 ± 8.2 years. The prevalence rates of sarcopenia were 98% based on three indicators of sarcopenia. Almost of muscle mass areas except trunk were associated with SMI and GS, meanwhile all areas of subcutaneous fat were correlated with GS. Among elderly nursing home, the prevalence of sarcopenia was high. Muscle mass area and subcutaneous fat was correlated with sarcopenia indicators.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127214929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research contributes to give evidence in the failure system of implementing planetary health concept at the grassroots level for human aptitude in the case of the Indonesian Sea Nomads community namely Bajau people in Mola Raya, Wakatobi Regency. The qualitative setting was implied in this research using ethnography. Preferably, Bajau people through their knowledge should be recognized as a practice model toward adapting the concept of planetary health including solid waste management practice. It was found a failure action and stimulus programs from multi-stakeholders who have been working with Bajau people to date, which also been influenced by the political situation. Bajau people realize their failures of implementing local knowledge but they were rolled into the complex system. Bajau people are labeled to be the actor of environmental damages for marine living resources and as low intention people to ecosystem health. As impacts, Bajau people has a high risk of public health issues and social blaming regarding their destructive practices.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"360 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124538555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies show that the benefits of nanotechnology in increasing the bioavailability of nutrients have been proven, but their effect on nutrient content has not been widely studied. This study aims to analyze the influence of nanotechnology on the nutritional and amino acid contents of liquid food formula containing catfish flour and Moringa leaves flour. The nanoparticles making process of catfish flour and Moringa leaves flour was carried out using the ball-milling method. Liquid food formula containing catfish flour and Moringa leaves flour is made by a combination of vacuum drying and dry mixing methods. Macronutrient content was obtained from the proximate analysis, mineral content was obtained from ICP-OES analysis, and amino acid content was obtained from UPLC analysis. Statistical analysis was performed using the ANOVA test to determine the difference in the nutritional content of nano liquid food formula and non-nano liquid food formula. The water, Fe, Zn, Se, and Cu content of non-nano liquid food formula was significantly higher than that of nano liquid food formula, whereas the carbohydrate content of nano liquid food formula was significantly higher (p < 0,05). Nano liquid food formula had significantly higher amino acid content of serine, glutamic acid, valine, alanine, lysine, aspartic acid, leucine, cysteine, methionine, and tryptophan, while the amino acid content of phenylalanine, arginine, glycine, tyrosine, threonine, and histidine was significantly higher in the non-nano liquid food formula (p < 0,05). The nanotechnology process gives different effects on the characteristics of nutrients, both in non-nano and nano instant liquid food containing catfish flour and Moringa leaves flour.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"417 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123427299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Foods that are high in fat and carbohydrates may lead to overweight. When overweight condition is followed by an increase in the body fat level, it also increases the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in the blood circulation and adipose cells. This study aims to determine the effect of High Fat High Carbohydrate (HFHC) diet on body weight of overweight Sprague dawley rats. This study used an experimental design with a pre-post-test control group design. Male Sprague dawley rats (n=10) were randomized into two groups. The normal group was given standard rats and the overweight group was given diet HFHC for 14 days. Their body weights were measured before and after treatment. After 14 days of treatment, the body weight mean was (210 ±1,5) in the treatment group increased significantly, compared with body weight mean (193±1,3) and before treatment (183,2±1,6) in the control group. In conclusion, those induced to be overweight used HFHC diet for 14 days and increased body weight. This finding can be used to induce overweight rats for a short time.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128559092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This shows that the Infant Mortality Rate aged 0-28 days, although the number has decreased, the figure is still above the SDG's target of 12/1,000 live births. This study aims to determine the factors associated with infant mortality 0-28 days in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. The data source in this study is the SDKI 2017. The sample includes infants who meet the criteria for the last child and were born single. Data were analysed by Bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The sampling Method in this study uses total sampling. Bivariate results show variables related to infant mortality, namely mother's work status, Mother's age at delivery, and parity with P <0.05. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that there is a need for increased vigilance and preparation for women of childbearing age starting from the preparation period for pregnancy to delivery.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121138301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of HPH in government and private hospitals in Jakarta, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted through a survey and self-assessment tools involving 223 hospital employees, using proportional random sampling and bivariate analysis (α= 0.05). The results showed that employees in both hospitals (government and private) had good knowledge towards HPH (74.8% and 76.9%). However, the participation of the employees was poor in HPH training (20.9% and 10.2%), as well as in HPH-related activities (45.2% and 25.9%). The proportion of employee with good attitude towards HPH in the government hospital (77.4%) was higher than in the private hospital (51.9%), and was significantly different (p= 0.006). The HPH national standard for both type of hospital had not been well achieved (52.2% and 52.8%), and no significantly different. However, the implementation of standard 2, 3, and 4 of HPH showed the significantly different, but not for standard 1 (“the hospitals have health promotion regulations”). The management in both hospitals should enforce the socialization, activeness, and HPH training for employees to improve the achievement of HPH standards.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126033454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
