High sugar diet has been linked to the increased risk of diabetes mellitus via the lack of regulation on hepatic uptake. Adolescents are the most prone to risk of high consumption of SSB because of the affordability, influence of marketing, and influence from peers. The affordability of SSB is also often related to the less awareness to read the food label (nutritional label and halal label) in the package. Therefore, this study aimed to explore perceptions of adolescents in Jakarta, Indonesia about SSB and food label by using Photovoice method. The Photovoice study involved five adolescents (three males, two females) recruited from Muhammadiyah 11 Jakarta High School, Indonesia to participate in two sessions of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted between May – June 2021. The transcripts from FGDs were analysed using SHOWeD methodology approach sorted by the perception on SSB consumption and food label (nutritional and halal label). Participants reported that peer group influence their decision to purchase SSB. Moreover, price, location, and brand also define the consideration to choose certain products. Participants rarely read the food label as it is considered as time-consuming activity even though they knew that it is important. Halal label also not become a priority on choosing product, mostly because of the brand trust and the safe feeling as they are living in a Muslim majority country.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"32 1 Pt 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125708160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fruits consumption is required to keep balance nutrition by providing macronutrients, vitamins, minerals and fibers. However, different kind of fruits have different sweet taste with variable fructose levels and bioactive chemical compounds. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze total fructose and flavonoids concentrations in some fresh fruits with different glycaemic indexes (GIs) to correlate between fructose and total flavonoids concentration. We choose 9 fresh fruits from local markets with low, moderate and high GIs. The Pearson test was used to analyze those correlation. We analyzed total fructose concentration using the Nelson-Somogyi method while flavonoids concentration used a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The highest fructose and flavonoids concentrations of fruits in low, moderate and high GI grous were Fuji apple (9.88±0.12% and 16.18±0.19mg/100g), Golden banana (9.58±0.60%) and California papaya (34.38±0.09mg/100g) and ripe Ambon banana (10.69±0.04% and 9.74±0.27mg/100g) respectively. In conclusion, there is no difference total fructose concentration of fresh fruits among GI classification and there is differenceflavonoids concentration of fresh fruits among GI classification.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122359615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A study in 2017, showed that of 80 geriatric patients with hypertensive heart disease (HHD), 240 cases of potential drug interactions were found at Moewardi Hospital. This study aims to determine potential incidence of drug interactions in elderly hypertensive patients at Surakarta Hospital. This is an observational study using a cross-sectional method with retrospective data collection of patients in 2018 who were treated at Surakarta Hospital. The inclusion criteria were elderly patients more than 60 years, diagnosed with hypertension with or without comorbidities and receiving antihypertensive and non-antihypertensive drugs. Potential drug interactions were studied theoretically using Medscape.com. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively with cross-tabulation. The results of study were 86 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The theoretical potential for drug interactions was found in 98 cases from 505 cases. Pharmacodynamic drug interactions were most common in the use of bisoprolol with aspirin and furosemide with aspirin in 10 and 8 cases, respectively. The interaction between Valsartan and Atorvastatin as many as 6 cases with the type of pharmacokinetic interaction. It can be concluded that there are more pharmacodynamics than pharmacokinetic drug interactions.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116269905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the protective factors for children against sexual violence is parenting. Perceptions of sexual violence against children are essential, which impact prevention programs for violence against children. This study explored parents' perceptions of sexual violence against children as well as prevention practices. This study was a qualitative design, using an indepth interview with parents who have children under 18th years old. Maximum variation sampling was used. Ten participants contribute to this study. The majority of participants in this study defined sexual violence against children as limited to sexual acts that lead to forced sexual relations. The challenges faced by the participants were taboo, lack of correct knowledge in sexuality education in children, limited skills in communicating sexuality to children, and lack of self-confidence. There are disparities in understanding the meaning of sexual violence against children, and challenges in prevention need to be discussed further.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124270036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Regarding the use of healthy behavior factors, people are still not aware that oral and dental health behavior is only 2.8% in the five-year age group. This study aims to determine the predictive factors of oral health behavior in pre-school children based on the theory of health belief model, Theory of Planned Behavior and Social Cognitive Theory. The cross-sectional study method involved 200 mothers and children in the city of Jambi with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The results showed that the mean standard deviation of the children's age was 5.6 ± 1.1 years (range 5-6), and 52% were girls. The mean (SD) score for oral health behavior was 4, 8 (±1.9) out of 10. Regression analysis showed a positive relationship between all HBM, TPB and SCT structures on oral health behavior. Conclude that Health Belief Model was an important predictor of children's oral health behavior (p < 0.001). Effective promotional interventions can be designed based on these predictors to help improve children's oral hygiene behavior.","PeriodicalId":153750,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Social Determinants of Health","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130511317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
