To improve its sensing properties, the resultant films were thermal annealed at various temperatures. It shows that, as TiO2 was post-annealed at Ta=200°C for 30 min, a highest pH sensitivity of 79.9 μA/pH was derived. As Ta > 500°C, the pH sensitivity was declined substantial to 70.1 μA/pH. The sensitivity would further deteriorate to 61.8 μA/pH as the annealing time extended to 90 min under identical Ta. These phenomena could be attributed to the less surface hydroxyl sites of TiO2 thin film at elevated Ta. X-ray diffractograms indicates that an amorphous titania resides as Ta <; 200°C which presents more surface hydroxyl sites than those of crystalline structures at elevated Ta. It reveals that the pH sensitivity of EGFET was relied on the density of the surface hydroxyl structures. To employ to the portable sensing devices with desirable pH sensitivity, the post annealing of the asdeposited TiO2 film is a crucial process.","PeriodicalId":149730,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control","volume":"57 11-12","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114009126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a new method based on iterative brightest pixels extraction (IBPE) for OD localization, which is designed to overcome the presence of large exudates or bright artifacts. The iterative algorithm integrates brightest pixels extraction and discrimination of geometric features. At each iteration step, the brightest pixels are extracted and a binary candidate map is constructed. In order to distinguish the OD region from candidates, two geometric features of each candidate are employed. Then, a checking process is performed. The algorithm deletes the false positive OD region and re-gets the new brightest pixels, iteratively. Hence, the real OD region rises finally though it is not bright at the first. The proposed method is evaluated on STARE retinal database. The experimental results show that the performance achieves a success rate of 95%.","PeriodicalId":149730,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122208456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The framework constituted by smart mobile phones of repairmen, Database Management System (DBMS), a maintenance support center (MSC) and wireless networks. When the modules cannot be recognized, the repairman uses smart mobile phones to capture QR-codes and the image of fault circuit boards. Moreover, we use Android to develop the image recognizing algorithm on the smart mobile phones of repairmen. The captured QR-codes or images of the invalid modules can be recognized via our algorithm such that the features can be transmitted to the DBMS. In addition, DBMS also transmits the maintenance manual back to the maintenance staff. If the invalid modules still cannot be recognized, the repairmen and center engineers can connect through live video to obtain the relevant information. The experimental results validate the practicality of LRARF and Android platforms applied to recognition of invalid modules. Furthermore, the live video can be also recorded on the MSC synchronously.","PeriodicalId":149730,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control","volume":"23 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120995572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it does not seem to provide a proper explanation of user perspectives on a special but crucial domain of innovative technologies, focusing more on mature technologies. In particular, success of innovative technologies requires a more specific attention to early adopters or technical enthusiasts rather than general end-users. There, user acceptance should be considered more than usability and convenience. At present, little is known about the ways of evaluating aspects of innovative technologies from user acceptance perspectives. This paper proposes a new discipline of Acceptability Engineering (AE) as an academic place where theories and methods for acceptable innovative technologies design can be discussed.","PeriodicalId":149730,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control","volume":"43 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121012682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a big challenge for creating human-level game AI is the different traits of races of opponents and their locations of enemy units are partially observable. To overcome this limitation, we explore evolutionary-based approach for estimating the location of enemy units that have been encountered. In this paper, we propose an efficient framework to predict the winning ratio between the different races used in the real-time strategy game. We represent state estimation as an optimization problem, and automatically learn parameters for the evolutionary-based model by learning a corpus of expert Star Craft replays. The evolutionary-based model tracks opponent units and provides conditions for activating tactical behaviors in our Star Craft boot. Our results show that incorporating a learned evolutionary-based model improves the performance of EISBot by 60% over baseline approaches.","PeriodicalId":149730,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134037229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
