Owing to the unknown distributed interference, the channel estimation error can be arbitrary distributed. Under this situation, the QoS requirements should account for the worst-case channel estimation error distribution. While directly finding the worst-case distribution is challenging, two methods are proposed to solve the robust transceiver design problem. One is based on the Chebyshev inequality, the other is based on a novel duality method. Simulation results show that the QoS requirement is satisfied by both proposed algorithms. Furthermore, among the two proposed methods, the duality method shows a superior performance in transmit power, while the Chebyshev method demonstrates a lower computational complexity.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126396898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the increasing requirement of users, the velocity of users should be highly valued, because it has great effect on handover process and user experience. In this paper, we propose Handover Self-optimization Mechanism based on Velocity (HSMV), a novel handover mechanism which can improve the performance: firstly, some original data should be extracted from the mobile devices and a mathematic model will be proposed to estimate the velocity of users using Received Signal Strength (RSS); secondly, the relation between handover margin (HM) and the estimated velocity is concluded based on the model, then the value of HM will be adjusted accordingly; finally, the assessment method to estimate velocity as well as tackle with some handover problems will be validated. Simulation results show that it can not only gain relatively accurate velocity but also decrease the call drop rate significantly.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126483547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During various on-board components, the on-board computer (OBC) is essential to take charge of many tasks such as command and data handing, communication and payload management. However, the resources on micro-satellites are so limited that the OBC should not only meet the requirements of excellent performance and high reliability, but also be in proper power consumption and cost. The purpose of this paper is to present a solution for developing a low-cost, low power consumption and reliable OBC system for micro-satellites. The proposed system is based on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components and Linux operating system. Besides, considering the harsh space environment, a set of fault tolerant strategies are introduced to improve the reliability of the OBC. Finally, the analysis and test results are provided to illustrate the relatively low-cost, low power consumption and high reliability of the proposed OBC system.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122246863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A quantitative hierarchical state evaluation model is proposed in this paper to evaluate activeness degree of network groups focusing on one common topic. It consists of three levels: behavior, individual, and group. And the computational method is developed based on the scale of a network group and the behavior of its individuals. The active state indexes of a group and its individuals are calculated by weighting the importance of individuals based on individual actions: posting or browsing. The experiment results show that this model can provide intuitive active status of network communities so that network opinion administrators are freed from tedious analysis tasks in order to have activeness states of different groups. A series of factors including time, title, and diffusion extent of a topic are illustrated to have effect on evolution of active state for network group behaviors. And we also illustrate that the Matthew effect exists in network communities. This model is valuable for guiding, managing and controlling network public opinions.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"223 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116155682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we design and implement an embedded intelligent video surveillance and cooperative tracing system based on DM6467T. In our system, the ARM core of DM6467T is mainly in charge of getting encoded video data from the Internet, while the DSP core conducts video decoding and intelligent video computing. The video computing consists of three parts: moving objects detecting, moving objects locating and moving objects tracking. Specifically, we propose an improved template matching algorithm to solve the global motion compensation problem while reducing the computing complexity.
