Thus, evaluating the QoE of video applications is of tremendous importance in design and optimization of wireless video processing and transmission systems. In this paper, we propose a QoE measuring model for the quality of video applications by using probabilistic neural network (PNN). We conduct a subjective test, in which OPNET modeler is employed to build a system level simulation platform for the wireless network and distortion is added into original video sequences when transmitting on the platform. A subject pool is utilized to evaluate the distorted videos. Based on the subjective test, we create a distorted-video database. PNN is used to train the mapping function between the corresponding parameters and QoE. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model and show that it can provide a high correlation rate with human perception.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115128710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The cooperative group localization (CGL) has indicated the effectiveness on performance gain and simultaneous multiple-target localization for the ill-conditioned localization problem. However, two inherent difficulties exist in the CGL: the strict demand for CGL topology and the high complexity. In order to solve the above rub, we propose a novel weighted factor graph CGL algorithm by formulating the location problem into the factor graph (FG) framework. Belief information (BI) is iteratively passed in node-FG and inter-FG to realize the proposed algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm not only achieves high accuracy, but also enjoys low complexity in ill conditions.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125443989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The detector is utilized in non-first iterative process of Turbo receiver to suppress residual interference and noise. The complexity of the algorithm can be greatly reduced as the matrix inverse for weighting vector of MMSE is not necessary due to the approximation that the components of residual interference of PSIC and the noise are modeled as uncorrelated Gaussian random variables. Monte Carlo simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm can achieve almost the same performance as the traditional MMSE PSIC, but with much lower complexity.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126403652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In [4], the key to realizing the BIA for multi-user (MU) multiple-output-single-input (MISO) broadcast channel (BC) is the use of a receive antenna capable of switching among multiple pre-determined antenna patterns. The Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator (ESPAR) antenna, which uses only a single radio frequency (RF) front-end, has been shown to allow multiple-output-multiple-input (MIMO) communication by transmitting and/ or receiving data over diverse beampatterns. As the ESPAR antenna is capable of switching antenna pattern among a set of orthogonal basis patterns, in this context, we design a MU-MISO BC where receivers are equipped with ESPAR antennas to create short-term beampattern fluctuations. We show that there are multiple potential channel values available for each user through antenna switching of an ESPAR antenna. Then, the designed system model is exploited for implementation of the BIA coding [4]. The performance of the proposed BIA scheme is evaluated via simulation.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127444784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
