In this paper, a cognitive cooperative traffic offloading scheme over heterogeneous networks is proposed. In the proposed scheme, the shifted users which are offloaded from the overloaded network to the under-loaded network are treated as the secondary users (SU) for the target under-loaded network, and the users in the under-loaded network are primary users (PU). SU cooperates with PU's transmission with a reward of access to the PU's spectrum. More importantly, Stackelberg game is applied to optimize the strategies of both under-loaded and overloaded networks, in order to ensure both of their utilities in terms of data rate and cost are maximized. Simulation results reveal that the proposed scheme improves the utility of the overloaded network, and enhances the user satisfaction and spectrum efficiency of the under-loaded network, which indicate the traffic is effectively offloaded from overloaded network to under-loaded network and at the same time the performance of under-loaded network is improved.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122349436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The integrated hardware and software design of the terminal system is presented, which merges together RFID, GPS and sensor technologies based on embedded systems. We use the ultra-low power 16-bit RISC mixed-signal microcontroller as the central control unit considering both small size and high efficiency. The intelligent vehicle terminal can provide mainly the automatic identification of a chauffeur and cargos, the real-time vehicle localization, personalized context-aware, the data and voice communication, and remote centralized monitoring as well. Fixed-gain relaying strategy which has a low complexity is considered at the relay. New exact expressions for outage probability and average symbol error rate (SER) for a variety of modulation schemes are derived. To gain insight as to how parameters influence system performance, the coding gain and diversity diversity are analytically presented. Also, asymptotic behavior for outage probability and average SER at high signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) are quantified. Finally, computer simulations are compared with the analytical expressions to verify the exactness of the derived theoretical results.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121454198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to limit severe interference between cellular links and local D2D links, previous studies mainly focus on one or two functional blocks, such as power control and resource allocation, which seems inadequate for further exploiting D2D's potential. In this paper, several interference coordination schemes, including centralized power control, resource allocation and mode selection strategy and distributed self-optimization mechanism, are proposed. Based on the proposed optimization schemes, we provide the system performance of the D2D-enabled network and analyze the impact of local service ratio and user density. Numerical results show that D2D underlay communication can increase spectrum efficiency and provide more local service opportunities compared to pure cellular communication.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129105205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Construction of performance evaluation index system is a critical technology to guide the development of LPI communication equipment, which has not been mature till now. A layered index system is proposed in order to overcome the drawbacks that the existing indices were almost all constructed based on certain intercepting receivers and could not evaluate the LPI performance of a communication system independently. The newly proposed layered index system consists of covering layer, detection layer and interception layer. Indices of each layer can reflect the inherent characteristics of target system independent of intercepting receiver. The principles of LPI waveform design are given out based on the layered index system. The proposed index system can provide a quantitative examination criterion for development of LPI communication equipments.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"205 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114090353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, more and more kinds of services are being transmitted on wireless communication network with different requirements. So, to satisfy the quality of service (QoS) of multi-service requirements is one of the key challenges that need to be dealt in the LTE system. In this paper, we propose a cross layer solution called token bucket scheduler (TBS) for real time service that allocates resource block (RB) for different services in order to meet their QoS requirements. TBS utilizes instantaneous downlink channel signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) and service QoS information when determining whether a RB allocates to a real time service. Through extensive simulations, the results show that TBS algorithm greatly improves throughput, delay and packet loss ratio compared with the maximum-largest weighted delay first (M-LWDF) scheduling algorithm and exponential/proportional fair (EXP/PF) scheduling algorithm in real time service.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"81 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126021382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we proposed a Spectrum Reservation Matrix (SRM) model to characterize the shared path protection (SPP) problem of BV networks. The SRM model converts the spare capacity allocation (SCA) problem into a succinct mathematical form, offering static programming an effective approach of data structure and calculation. Both failure-independent (FID) and failure-dependent (FD) strategies are taken into consideration, and separate models for each case are given. An effective heuristic SPP algorithm for BV optical networks, named Minimum Spectrum Reservation (MSR) algorithm, is designed on the basis of SRM model. Holding the explicit objective of minimizing spectrum reservation cost, MSR algorithm shows better performance in terms of spectrum redundancy and blocking probability, in comparison with SPP employing min-hop strategy, in simulations.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"776 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122674859","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A method of PRACH detection threshold setting in Long Term Evolution (LTE) Time Division Duplex (TDD) femtocell system is proposed in this paper based on theoretical analysis. This method uses the frequency domain correlation calculation results, and benefits from multiple antennas diversity combing to adjust the relative detection threshold, which is the ratio of absolute detection threshold and time varying noise level. Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF) of the relative threshold is modified to obtain the absolute threshold. Simulation results show that the proposed method fulfills the requirements of the system and gets a promotion in performance under certain false alarm probability and channel conditions.","PeriodicalId":143739,"journal":{"name":"7th International Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131870049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An accurate and comprehensive performance evaluation is crucial for the quality of service (QoS) guarantee in 802.11 networks. In this paper, we use the method of stochastic network calculus to obtain the stochastic delay bounds of 802.11 protocols. In particular, we take the self-similar property of wireless traffic into consideration and fractional Brownian motion (fBm) traffic model is adopted to describe the arrival traffic. We derive the stochastic arrival curve of fBm traffic and the stochastic service curve of existing model of 802.11, then obtain the stochastic delay and backlog bounds. Finally, we use matlab to calculate theoretical results and ns-2 for simulations. The results show that the delay of the 802.11 wireless node increases with the increasing of Hurst parameter H and the number of competition stations n.
