P-poly structure has higher capacity efficiency than the existing p-cycle protection structure even though we can design p-cycle based networks for multi-link failures scenario. We provide a theoretical underpinning for the application of p-poly structure in providing protection against multi-link failures. Two greedy algorithms and two ant colony optimization algorithms are respectively proposed for constructing p-poly structure in static and dynamic networks. In this article, we present an overview on some typical new characteristics of the AAS, such as spatial ACLR, in-band blocking. In MUD, the two source messages are detected separately and then mapped into a relaying message. In VSUD, the relaying message is obtained directly by detecting the received signal. Maximum likelihood (ML) algorithm and linear algorithms are considered for both single-antenna case and multi-antenna case with and without transmit power and phase control. Suboptimal detection algorithms with lower complexity are also proposed for VSUD. Simulation results show that ML VSUD can achieve better BER performance than ML MUD. Even though there are several wireless routing protocols, the proper data forwarding algorithm should be carefully selected based on their characteristic in various situations. This paper provides extensive NS-2 based performance evaluation of three essential wireless data forwarding algorithms used in popular Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET): Ad hoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV), Destination-Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV), and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR). We investigate throughputs, packet drop rate, and transmission delay with various numbers of mobile nodes and realistic mobility models, and provide a useful reference guideline to determine the best wireless data forwarding protocol for vehicles in urban areas. The diversity of improved DTC scheme is that the two parity streams of the two RSC encoders of UE are converted into one stream by puncturing. In addition, we adopt the punctured parity streams of Convolutional Turbo Code (CTC) at the relay and BS, which takes advantage of the feature of two inputs for the decoded information bits from two mobile stations. Here, CTC acts as a network coding as well as channel coding between relay and BS. The performance of this communication system depends on the twice decoding at the BS according to the side information and CTC punctured parity information. Limited by the hardware and environment, a secondary user may not be able to have ability to sense the entire spectrum space. Therefore, the POMDP is exploited to model the secondary network. In this paper, Q-Learning is applied to solve the POMDP because it can make full advantage of the past observation and decision experiences to optimize current action, and needs not transfer the POMDP into a belief MDP. It consists of Base Band Units (BBU) of several base stations, which are co-located in a secured place called Central Office and connected to Radio Remote Heads (RRH) via high bandwidth, low latency links. With BBU centralization in C-RAN, handover, the most important feature for mobile communications, could achieve simplified procedure or improved performance. In this paper, we analyze the handover performance of C-RAN over a baseline decentralized RAN (D-RAN) for GSM, UMTS and LTE systems. The results indicate that, lower total average handover interrupt time could be achieved in GSM thanks to the synchronous nature of handovers in C-RAN. For UMTS, inter-NodeB soft handover in D-RAN would become intra-pool softer handover in C-RAN. This brings some gains in terms of reduced signalling, less Iub transport bearer setup and reduced transport bandwidth requirement.
