P-poly structure has higher capacity efficiency than the existing p-cycle protection structure even though we can design p-cycle based networks for multi-link failures scenario. We provide a theoretical underpinning for the application of p-poly structure in providing protection against multi-link failures. Two greedy algorithms and two ant colony optimization algorithms are respectively proposed for constructing p-poly structure in static and dynamic networks.
