The existence of Kendang Reog Art in Postmodernism 后现代主义中垦当热艺术的存在

One example of this can be seen in the shift in form and meaning of a traditional Javanese performance art named Reog Kendang. Reog Kendang, a folk art from the Tulungagung Regency that serves as one of the region’s attractions, has experienced many developments from its original form. The traditional performance art initially had very particular rules, but has developed in its meaning and form of presentation over time as they are adjusted based on the demands and context of performance art. This paper aims to depict the form of Reog Kendang in the postmodern era and its existence using qualitative method and phenomenology approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, followed by an analysis involving data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusion. The findings reveal that the development and existence of Reog Kendang can be seen from the change in the form of presentation and demands of the performance that allow the artists to make creative adjustments and innovations. These village dwellers strive to preserve Javanese art and culture even though they live in the Malay region of Riau. The effort was channeled by establishing a Javanese arts community named Jaranan Krido Budoyo. Jaranan – a dance with traditional hobbyhorses – is a customary art that is popular in Java, especially in rural villages. Not only does it preserve Javanese art and culture, but it also seeks to prove that local arts can develop even far from its originating area. The sounds of Javanese gamelan, dance, and singing unquestionably attract many not only Javanese populations but also other ethnic groups. The reaction of the surrounding community seems very positive, unveiled by the large number of spectators who watched this artistic performance. Jaranan Krido Budoyo has gone through various districts in Riau and has performed at various celebrations. It was founded by the 31st King Sumenep, Panembahan Somala, one of the ulemas in 1762 with the help of an architect of Chinese descent, Lauw Pia Ngo. The Sumenep Palace was established during the occupation of the Dutch government in Indonesia (VOC). Therefore, its design has a blend of cultural values from Hinduism Java, Islam, China, and the Netherlands. The characteristics of these cultural values can be clearly seen in the expression of art, design, and architecture of the Pavilion building. The pavilion as part of the entire building in the palace complex functioned as a meeting area by the members of the palace. Some of the activities that took place in the Pavilion included traditional, religious, governmental, and family activities. The aesthetic aspects of the architecture and design have complex values, because the process of its realization involves many aspects, including economic, social, cultural, technological, ergonomic, anthropological, psychological factors; adaptation processes; and design sustainability to the environment. The Sumenep palace pavilion has potential to be further explored from various aspects of the design. The word 'Cirebon' comes from the word 'caruban' which means a mixture. Since the mid-15th century, there have been several census statistical data on various tribes in Cirebon, such as Javanese, Sundanese, Chinese, Persian, Majapahit, and others. Therefore, Paksi Naga Liman is a form or symbol of the multiculturalism of national and state life itself. Paksi Naga Liman carriage is Sultan Kanoman's magnificent wagon. This carriage contains the teachings of 'Hablu Minal Alam,' which is the union of three animal elements that live in three different realms, namely air, sea, and land. However, so far, Cirebon has not fully applied or incorporated the existing art forms in the Paksi Naga Liman carriage in the world of education, especially in schools, so that there are few students of elementary, junior high, or even high school who understand that Paksi Naga Liman carriage embodies multicultural values that represent the diversity of cultures, races, religions, and ethnicities in Cirebon. Traditional performing arts originally had no commercial value. But when traditional performing arts are confronted with the globalization flow, it will inevitably have commercial value. Through the industry process, traditional performing arts, which were previously fully presented, in the globalization era, are folded into the small form of VCD and DVD. This study used a qualitative method and an ethnography approach. There were primary and secondary data sources in this study. The analysis technique used data reduction, data display, and conclusions drawing. The results show that the performance of the KSSS puppet reog group was an art form that provides touches of creation both in the dance movements and in the musical accompaniment. His works have continued to morph through various forms and the media used have been also diverse because Giyanto has been motivated in exploiting and experimenting with his creation. Starting from Yogyakarta's leather puppets to decorative canvas painting, he innovatively responds to development of the arts. This study focuses on the artist’s creative process and the preservation of leather puppets he does. The method used is qualitatively descriptive with Spradley's ethnographic approach. Data were gathered from informants as the initial key to data exploration through observation, interview, and documentation. Then, they were analyzed by using Spradley's ethnographic approach to describe the structural history of the various forms of Giyanto's works from then on. Innovative learning methods are used as skill capitals to face the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. One step taken to achieve 21st-century skills is through the use of a project-based approach. The approach taken is an attempt to answer the challenges in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, which is prepared early on at the elementary school level through learning the local content of Batik. The learning results when the project-based learning method was implemented in this subject showed that (1) the learning process using the project-based learning method by giving assignments in the form of projects with integrated planning made students more creative and work better, (2) the use of project-based learning methods in the Batik local content subject could increase the creativity and independence of students, especially in the practice of making batik from the design planning process to the finishing process. As a result, many works of art continuously experience development and upgrades that are adjusted to the artists’ self-expression. Nitik Batik is the oldest Batik style in Yogyakarta which has significantly developed in its visual form. This study aims to examine the existence of Nitik Batik in the postmodern era using a qualitative method and phenomenology approach. The research setting is in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation. The analysis was done through data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. This is research and development with the Borg and Gall model that has been modified in six stages, namely: 1) research and information collection, 2) product manufacturing planning, 3) product development, 4) internal testing, 5) product revision, and 6) try out. The research instruments comprised of questionnaires for experts, music teachers, and students. The collected data were then analyzed by means of descriptive analysis by changing the data on the average rating into feasibility score interval. The results suggest that: 1) teaching material that was developed was in the form of a student textbook on guitar accompaniment for folk songs; 2) the developed student textbook is very suitable as a source of teaching material to help students learn guitar accompaniment for folk songs according to the experts, music teachers, and students.
