After analysis, referred to the models of Yang J [1] and Sundararajan [2], they focused on positive externality network products’ customizing bundled pricing. What the difference is, they focused on network products, researching on the bundled pricing model under positive externality. This paper, however, is facing public utilities products, and the customized product bundling pricing models under positive externalities are given. In addition, it discusses the optimal-realizable-customized-bundling-pricing contracts for the monopoly companies under the situation of positive externalities existing.","PeriodicalId":140802,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124988215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Like traditional “brick-and-mortar” workforces, there may be challenges within virtual teams that affect organizational success such as employee engagement, job satisfaction, commitment, leadership, trust, and knowledge sharing. However, it is uncertain how virtual teams maintain long-term sustainability. This research study brings together two constructs, employee engagement and computer-mediated communication, to examine their importance and relevancy in virtual team’s effectiveness (success). Further, social exchange theory (SET) theoretical foundation explained employee motivation and satisfaction behaviors. This research employed a quantitative, non-experimental explanatory research design and used two instruments to investigate the relationship between computer-mediated communication (CMC) competence and employee engagement in telecommuting knowledge workers in the US. To measure dimensions of employee engagement, the researchers used the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9) and the Computer-mediated Communication (CMC) competence model to measure 5 subscales of computer-mediated communication, i.e. expressiveness, attentiveness, efficacy, knowledge, motivation. The target population was a random sample of 134 teleworkers. Demographic information collected included age, gender, education level, and number of years of service. The findings suggest that the most significant predictor of engagement is attentiveness, followed by expressiveness, and then motivation. Thus, leadership can engage in telecommuting knowledge workers to increase and maximize productivity.","PeriodicalId":140802,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129811751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We adopted and modified the weighted TOPSIS approach to ascertain the overall social influences of management members in the banking network of Ghana. The weighted TOPSIS method employs a composite approach of classical centrality influence that uses the position of the actor in the network hierarchy, the intensity of his interaction, extent of his connectivity and flow of information within the network. The approach offers an extensive advantage in ensuring holistic decision making by implementing an algorithm that employs a multi-criteria approach. The study revealed that although most single attributes were significant in measuring the niched aspect of social influence, the closeness to ideal that was attained through a weighted TOPSIS algorithm showed stronger ties and was conclusive enough to judge the social influence of actors to warrant its sole application in the determination of spreaders or influential nodes in a network. To enhance efficiency in decision making in relation to employment and layoffs, it is recommended that a social network analysis which adapts a multi-attribute decision-making approach that reflects both individual strength and weaknesses in totality for all aspect of social influences should be employed. We recommend further studies into Actor Ranking and its impact on recruitment practices for organizational innovation.","PeriodicalId":140802,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128982829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(BCP) is a premier supplier of company matchmaking services in the Life Science industry that assists laboratory product suppliers to increase their export sales by identifying the best possible distributors. The study focuses on increment of the sales turnover of BioChannel Partners’ on-line business. Design/methodology/approach: The research is conducted in two phases: primary research and secondary research. The objective of both phases is to identify the reasons for the low sales of BioChannel Partners’ online services. Secondary research represents the first part of the research phase and includes an internal and external analysis of the company. Primary research involves a thorough study of the feedback collected from the primary research to reveal problem areas. The other objective is analysing what should be done to increase the sales turnover of the on-line services of BCP. This involves making recommendations for improvement based on the suggestions gathered from the customers directly through in-depth telephone interviews and online surveys. Findings: The results of the research phase have identified four major problem areas. First, there are prevailing customer habits of selecting distributors on a personal level via references and networking. Second, BCP’s on-line service Silver does not attract customers due to less value for money. Third, BCP only makes use of few market research to adjust product and pricing to customer preferences. Fourth, the benefits of the on-line services are not clearly communicated, whereas the web design confuses the issue even more. Originality/value: This paper provides BCP with a guideline to address its problems and increase its sales turnover by attracting and retaining more customers. These recommendations are relevant for most companies in this industry and can be utilised to improve the functioning of the organization.","PeriodicalId":140802,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125770239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study found that network externality enhancement will enable genuine manufacturers to improve product quality to bring more utility to consumers. Under certain conditions, the level of counterfeiting of pirated manufacturers is the key to whether a genuine manufacturer chooses a regulatory policy; when the level of counterfeiting is low, the role of the market mechanism itself can effectively protect legitimate manufacturers, and when the level of counterfeiting is high, the adjustment of the market mechanism is not enough to protect the genuine manufacturers. At this time, the genuine manufacturers will implement the policy of combating piracy to protect the genuine.","PeriodicalId":140802,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133199038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Statement of the problems, objective of the study, research questions, hypotheses and scope covered in this work revolve within: Ascertaining if the HRM practices of Saipem in complying with Nigerian local content acts contributed to project completion in Saipem. Organisational growth in this article is seen from project completion and meeting client set targets given to Saipem in each of the projects being executed in Nigeria. The time range in completing each project contributed to executing another project by Saipem. Methodology comprised the use of descriptive type of survey research design. This design helped in examining the relationship that HRM practices have with organisational growth of Saipem contracting Nigeria Limited. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select respondents from the study area. Both primary and secondary sources were used in collecting data. Of 458 targeted respondents, 416 completed the survey questionnaire, 90.82% response rate. In analysing the responses from the questionnaire, descriptive statistics was used. Two statistical tools were used in test of the hypotheses, such as: Chi Square χ2 and One-Sample t-test to assess the level of acceptance or otherwise the null hypotheses. It is seen from the findings that a few expatriates are working in Saipem in the cadre of welders and filters. It is therefore recommended that expatriate quota in Saipem be looked into by NCDMB since a few Nigerians occupy management position in the company.","PeriodicalId":140802,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies","volume":"237 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128621463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
