Great achievements are offering the guidance to English teachers and learners. However, efficient teaching is still on the way because of different teaching texts, teaching objects as well as different teachers. Here, investigating the nature of language, we hold a view that no matter what stage of teaching you are at, no matter who you are teaching, no matter what kind of English text you are teaching, as teacher, you should consider sound, form and meaning of useful words, sentences involved in the text and text itself as your teaching contents so that an efficient lesson plan can be designed.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"596 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116208348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is the language of England, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and the USA. India has several sophisticated literary languages. The languages have long –standing literary traditions. Many students of other Countries think that India has no literature other than that written in English. It is assumed English is the main literary language in India because it has been given the status of “official language” by the Indian Constitution. In reality, Indian English literature is the newest developed branch of Indian literature. For an Indian writing in English involves a conflict between the mother tongue and English, this other tongue which has been our intimate enemy during the last two centuries.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"24 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120941516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These two countries were under the domination of German, French and British. The British-controlled southern part of Cameroon which she further divided her own portion into British Southern and Northern British Cameroons attached to East and North Nigeria respectively. After, Boko haram phenomenon came. A range of conflicting narratives have grown up around the phenomenon. As a real problem in the society, Boko Haram phenomenon has captured the attention of the media of the world. We are going to deal with Cameroonian written presses: The Guardian Post and Eden Newspaper and Nigerian online Newspapers: The Cable Alert and THISDAYLIVE especially with seventeen articles. The four newspapers are edited in Cameroonian press and in Nigerian internet sites. Each newspaper has its own way of talking about Boko Haram phenomenon and how the fight against it. This dissertation makes an analysis of language and discursive strategies used to talk about the Islamist sect in the selected newspapers between 2014 and 2015. We are going to solve the problem of this topic through the use of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) especially Multimodal discourse approach of Kress and Van Leeuwen.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127145855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It mainly focuses on the reckless reconciliation of the blacks and the whites and their sufferings during the Post-apartheid period in South Africa after the blacks having backed their power, long declined freedom, domination which they were declined for centuries. “PostApartheid refers to the period in South Africa after the end of Apartheid, which was the policy of \"separateness\" or the legally enforced separation of the races. It dates from 1994 to the present” (Assefa , et all 3).It gives a ponderous sketch regarding whites struggle and reveals their torment to adapt with the new formed atmosphere during Post-Apartheid time. In this paper we will observe that after humiliating, suffering a lot, how the protagonist characters, David Lurie and his daughter, Lucy Lurie struggled to adapt to the changing situation. They could anticipate that reconciliation is only possible when they will be subjugated.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127823816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It's the method through which we share our ideas and thoughts with others. In order to communicate effectively, one needs a language that is widely understood and is common. Over the years, English has become that sort of language. It is the language most commonly used and understood almost by everyone. So it is easier to communicate in English as it is the best way to express ourselves. In the present age, it has become even more of a medium of almost communication because it is the language of the Internet and the computer. As of 2020 there are 1.27 billion English speakers around the world. This makes it the most spoken language, ahead of Mandarin Chinese (1.12 billion speakers) and Hindi (637 million speakers). More than 50 countries officially list English as an official language. Globalisation is the process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected as a result of massively increased trade and cultural exchange. Globalisation has increased the production of goods and services. For both native speakers and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) speakers, strong communication in English involves four modes: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Different people have naturally differing aptitudes for these skills. This paper has attempted to analyse the importance of communication in English language and the significance of globalisation and English language.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128223019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To do this, Phillips’s aesthetics, and ideological trends have been dominantly experimental especially in his novel with fragmentation and memory being a major tool to re-historicised caribbeanness and blackness. A reading of Phillips’s fiction and dramatics reveal his attachment and concern about the plight of the woman as she too constitutes part of the search for belonging in Phillips’s world. It is therefore my focus in the paper to discuss the way Phillips represents women as victims of exile in The final passage , Higher ground and Crossing the river . While demonstrating that exilic life is characterised by sexual difference that defines identity, the paper argues that women suffer marginality in exile because of their gender and race.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128418346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite its importance, Yan's translation was not a direct rendering but rather a cultural translation that took into account the cultural context and audience's receptivity. The strategies he adopted to achieve communication with readers included intextuality and setting communicative threads, enabling the translation to integrate into the cultural context of the target language and achieve auto-communication. The evocative and poetic functions of the target text attracted a wider audience and were influential among several political factions in modern China. As such, this paper aims to analyze in detail the auto-communicative process of Yan's translation and the strategies he employed to achieve cultural integration, which remain significant today.","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134062515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Of the three domains, the cognitive domain involves knowledge and the development of intellectual skills (Bloom, 1956, in Anderson &Krathworhl, 2001). This domain includes the recall or recognition of specific facts, procedural patterns, and concepts that serve in the development of intellectual abilities and skills with six major categories of – from the simplest to most complex ones – knowledge (recalling the information), comprehension or understanding, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Among these six stages, the two first stages can be seen as the descriptive thinking, and the remaining stages are the critical thinking. According to Krathwohl, Bloom and Masia (1973), the affective domain in learning skills includes the manner in which students deal with things emotionally, such as feelings, values, appreciation, enthusiasms, motivations, and attitudes. The third domain in Bloom’s taxonomy mentions to psychomotor learning, which relates to learners’ manual or physical skills. However, while the cognitive and affective domains are intensively produced as an elaborate compilation in education environments, the psychomotor domain is usually ignored (Wilson, 2018).","PeriodicalId":137524,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133249411","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
