In this paper, the modified KA algorithm based floating point multiplier is presented. In proposed multiplier single precision and double precision operations are supported. The iterative method which requires less hardware is used for DP operations which leads to reduction in power consumption. As the multiplication dominates the execution time, to overcome the problem in the proposed floating point multiplier for mantissa multiplication different algorithms are compared and best one is chosen which has less number of multiplications. This multiplier also handles underflow and overflow. SRF is utilized for reference input current extraction and to create pulses for the SHAPF. The principle point of the cascaded bridge is to dispense harmonics, enhance power factor and reactive energy compensation of the single-phase distribution framework. The suggested control calculation has two parts, changing the load current into stationary reference outline directions and estimation of peak amplitude of load currents. Consequently, a basic and dependable controller effortlessly of execution was created. The calculation for single-phase SHAF is intending to perform with exact tracking performance under step changes in load currents and to give great dynamic compensation. Various reasons such as, load shedding, load restoring, and short circuits cause large frequency fluctuations which threaten the system security and could lead to complete blackouts as well as damages to the system equipment. Hence, this paper proposes a coordination of Load Frequency Control (LFC), which uses an optimized PID controller-based Moth Swarm algorithm (MSA) and digital under/over frequency relay for a realistic multi-source power system protection considering different cases study of load shedding and restoring. The discrete-time data of system frequency which obtained from data conversion system is applied for energizing the digital frequency relay under the normal and faulted conditions. The presented digital frequency relay will include both over and under frequency functions. To prove the efficient effect of the proposed coordination, the Egyptian Power System (EPS), which contains three dynamics subsystems, hydro, reheat, and non-reheat power plants was investigated for the MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation considering the effect of system nonlinearity. The obtained simulation results stated the effectiveness of the proposed coordination to maintain the power system frequency stability and security. Furthermore, the superiority of the under/over digital frequency relay in terms of accuracy and speed has been approved.","PeriodicalId":134828,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130364809","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
