This article, by introducing the methods of cognitive psychology and usability engineering, makes experiments to explore whether users could encounter difficulties in the mobile phone's multimedia interface when the mental model formed in graphic user interface (GUI) is transferred into multimedia user interface (MUI). Experimental results show that 1) when the icon's medium attributes change from the stactic state in GUI to the animation in MUI, users can't generate conflicts in their minds, and 2) when information's layout on the MUI's 2nd level interface changes from the column usually used in GUI into the lattices consistant with the 1st level interface of MUI, the representation progress of user's mental models will quicken. Based on these, we think that changing information's layout and adjusting metaphors of interface can improve the usability of MUI","PeriodicalId":133842,"journal":{"name":"16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence--Workshops (ICAT'06)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114995499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

HLA dedicates to improving the reusability of federates by sepcifying the interaction between them. But behavior of Federate in HLA is hard to be modified at runtime, while it is very important to the long-term simulation. In our design, the Federate could be adapted dynamically. This helps to create a coherent evolution of simulation system. The run-time adaptation of federate is implemented using dynamic weaving of aspects and the framework is described detailedly in this paper. Moreover, we introduced a practical system developed by the framework, and finally examined its effectiveness through an application of performing the synchronization among associated Federates. The experience demonstrates that the technique can reduce the redundancy of simulation system effectively.","PeriodicalId":133842,"journal":{"name":"16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence--Workshops (ICAT'06)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115042371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So we extend ConGolog to EConGolog by formalizing the belief and intention of agents under the framework of Situation Calculus and adding communication actions in the earlier ConGolog. Meanwhile, we propose a novel cooperation model of requirement/service and corresponding cooperation Semantics for multi-agent system based on EConGolog. We give a case of the multi-agent system to achieve the cooperation based on reason about action and performance of action among agents in the dynamic and incompletely known environment. In addition, we develop an animation description language ECGADL based on EConGolog. It can implement the animation of various complex behaviors of the agents more conveniently and flexibly.","PeriodicalId":133842,"journal":{"name":"16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence--Workshops (ICAT'06)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117004749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we discuss technologies to join multiple projections into a large display system for multimedia entertainment and virtual reality applications. In contrast to using expensive hardware-based seamlessly merging modules, we adopt a software-based seamlessly merging solution, which is used to calibrate the color brightness and the geometry in superposed regions. And in order to enlarging its application, we adapt technology to several kinds of screens (plane screen and camber screen). We use PC cluster with accelerated graphics cards to lower rendering costs. Our software merge system can run on a variety of large display platforms. The experiment shows our system obtain the satisfying results. The proposed approach concerns a bunch of corrupted measurements under nonlinear constraints, and optimizes the estimation by taking errors into account. Furthermore, we set a synthetic projective model and adopt a standard deviation-expectation criterion to evaluate the performance or our method applied in 3D reconstruction. The limitation of the design also was showed in the standard test that the vehicle crash to the rigid wall at the speed of 50 km/h. The simulation result and the really crash test both show that the hinge of the engine hood fractured in the test.
