The synthesised copper oxide nanoparticles were characterized by using various spectral techniques. The functional, structural and morphological studies were confirmed by FT-IR, XRD and SEM respectively. The elemental composition was determined by EDAX analysis. The various spectral data confirms the formation of copper oxide nanoparticles and is found to be orthorhombic, 18-50 nm of size and spherical in shape. The synthesised copper oxide nanoparticles were investigated for antibacterial activity against gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus epidermidis), gram negative (Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli and Klebseilla pneumoniae) and antifungal (Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans and Fusarium oxysporum) activities with different pathogens. The results revealed that copper oxide nanoparticles exhibit excellent inhibition efficiency against representative microorganisms. The outcome of the study could be useful for the development of value added products from indigenous medicinal plants. © 2020 iGlobal Research and Publishing Foundation. Methods: Methanolic and chloroform extracts of Solanum melongena Linn. leaves were prepared. Preliminary phytochemical screening of the prepared extracts was carried out. Effects of prepared extracts were studied on Clonidine induced catalepsy and milk induced leukocytosis and eosinophila in mice. Results: Maximum duration of catalepsy was observed at 90 min after the clonidine administration. There was significant inhibition (p˂0.05) of clonidine induced catalepsy in the animals pretreated with chlorpheniramine maleate, methanol and chloroform extract of S. melongena. Administration of milk (4mg/kg) subcutaneous route exhibited significant increase in leucocyte and eosinophil count after 24 hrs of administration. Chloroform extract at the dose of 500mg/kg body weight showed significant inhibition (p˂0.05) of milk induced leukocytosis and eosinophilia. Conclusions: These results suggest that Solanum melongena leaves extract may have the potential therapeutic value in the treatment of allergic diseases. © 2020 iGlobal Research and Publishing Foundation. The painstaking research by the scientists, the pharmaceutical companies, the medical professionals have led to this day when AIDS patients are living their whole life span. Though we do not have any vaccine for AIDS but by intelligent use of medication, we have been able to combat the disease to a large extent. HIV is a RNA virus, whose treatment is mainly done by finding the structure and function of the proteins that are vital to its life cycle. Designing a drug/inhibitor to make those proteins ineffective constitutes the next step. WHO has recognized AIDS as a pandemic almost 40 years back but the world is yet to find a cure or a vaccine. The current treatment method is called HAART, Highly Active Anti Retroviral Therapy, where different types of inhibitors,eg. Reverse Transcriptase inhibitors, Protease inhibitors; each arresting a different important protein are given in combination. The virus replicates very fast and forms mutations which render it ineffective to the inhibitors thus resistance to the inhibitors develop. Hence development of new types of inhibitors is crucial to the problem. There are certain similarities between AIDS and COVID-19, both in terms of the attacking virus and effective medication, which make it more important than ever that the research on HIV is revisited and knowledge we gain from it is used to battle the new pandemic. © 2020 iGlobal Research and Publishing Foundation. The use of genus Syzygium, as a traditional medicine are practiced since ancient times. Syzygium jambos is one of them. It is generally found in South-East Asian countries. The fruit of this plant is commonly known as ‘Malabar plum’ / ‘Rose apple’ / ‘Plum rose’. In West Bengal (India) it is familiar as ‘Golapjam’. Purpose: The main objective of this study to the estimate mineral content like, Calcium, Phosphorus, Iron, Sodium, Potassium, Zinc, Selenium, Iodine, Copper, Manganese, Lead and Sulphur of Syzygium jambos fruit and its seed that has not been revealed yet. Method: Standard methods of AOAC have been used to quantify different mineral contents of samples. Result: The finding shows that Syzygium jambos fruit and its seed contain an adequate amount of essential macro and micro minerals. These are mostly abundant in Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Copper content. Conclusion: So, it may be concluded that Syzygium jambos fruit and seed could be one of the good sources to meet the daily dietary requirements for an adult as well as it could keep diseases away. Finally, a comparative study has been done among the mineral content of Syzygium jambos fruit, seed with Jackfruit, Black plum, Watermelon and their respective edible seeds. © 2020 iGlobal Research and Publishing Foundation. They consist of a number of bioactive components like alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, steroids, tannins, phenolic compounds, etc. are used for the treatment of several diseases. Aegle marmelos L. is a spiritual, religious and important medicinal plant commonly called bael. Different parts of bael used in ethnomedicine are known to possess antioxidant, antidiarrheal, antibacterial, antidysenteric, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic activities. The aim of the present investigation is to carry screening of phytochemical constituents and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopic analysis of various extracts of Aegle marmelos L. leaves. The preliminary screening of phytoconstituents was carried out by standard methods. In the Aegle marmelos L. leaves the presence of phytochemicals such as carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids, steroids, alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins were present in aqueous, acetone, ethyl acetate, dichloromethane, ethanol, methanol and petroleum ether extract. Results of the FTIR spectra of leaves extracts revealed the presence of various functional groups like alkanes, aldehydes, amides, alcohols, esters, ethers, carboxylic acids, carbonyl group, aromatic compounds, etc. All these compounds pertain to the bioactive components and could be responsible for the medicinal properties of Aegle mermelos L. © 2020 iGlobal Research and Publishing Foundation. In double divisor spectra method absorption spectrum of ternary mixture divided by two of the three compounds in the mixture. Methanol used as solvent for this method. Calibration graphs were established in the range 10-50 μg/mL for Telmisartan, 7.5-17.5 μg/mL for Chlorthalidone and 5-25 μg/mL for Cilnidipine. Results: all the drugs exhibited good linearity over the reported concentration range with acceptable correlation coefficient. The method was validated according to ICH guideline parameters such as accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility showing acceptable percent relative standard deviation of less than 2.
