The objective of this Critical Essay is to reflecto n the possibility of updating public policies associated with educational and human needs to understand the importance of the approach given by authentic educational inclusion and social justice in contemporary societies through an updated bibliographic review. In general, it was observed that the rate of the female student population in university programs related to engineering, computer science, and similar is much lower than that of men who are educated within the institutions that offer them. It was concluded that it depends on the joint effort of States and universities to achieve a reduction in the percentage gap existing in the Latin American community that is pursuing these higher studies. The study was carried out in two rural communities in the Nuble region. Through a mixed study, with a qualitative predominance, it was possible to investigate the perceptions of a sample of practicing teachers at different stages of their careers. The findings of the study show that the rural teacher's identity is shaped by various characteristics particularly relevant to the rural educational context of Nuble. These features are equally transferable to other educational realities of rural communities in Chile. The study revealed that rural teachers are perceived as professionals with great vocation, motivated for their work, highly professional, and multifaceted. The present investigation explored the phenomenon of the new teacher in differential education in different educational contexts from the perspective of their insertion and adaptation to the educational environment. Through a qualitative approach based on the case study and through interviews and focus groups with members of the educational community, he sought to determine and analyze the perception of these key informants about the new teachers of the Pedagogy in Differential Education career in his cohort 2017 and 2018 from the University of the Americas and these first moments of his practical professional teaching practice. Methodologically, the study has a quantitative field approach and a quasi-experimental plan of comparison between an experimental group (teaching with fieldwork) and a control group (traditional teaching), using a test as a measurement instrument. As a result, there was a significant increase in the percentage of students passing compared to the control group. It was 93% vs. 65% in conceptualizations associated with the subject, 89% vs. 56% in recognition of biological forms, and 72% vs. 9% in the determination of biomes when employing their physiognomic characteristics. This research has a quantitative approach, and is a field and quasi-experimental work (pre and post-test), whose instruments were evaluations and surveys. The results showed that the percentages of achievement for each indicator increase on average 29 points; the learning ranges decrease in insufficient students (69% to 9%) and show mobility towards \"Good\" (5% to 40%) and \"Very Good\" (2% to 12%) categories, without observing significant differences in the category \"Acceptable\". On the other hand, the development of scientific skills increases, on average, above 30 points. The most significant increases were: identify (75%), observe (79%), recognize (75%), apply (78%), compare (90%) and analyze (81%). {"title":"Evaluación de estudiantes de primer año en programas de pedagogía sobre actitudes e intereses para la docencia","authors":"Carla Calisto Alegría, Cristian Villegas Dianta","doi":"10.35811/rea.v7i0.14","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35811/rea.v7i0.14","url":null,"abstract":"La ley 20.903 que creó el Sistema de Desarrollo Profesional Docente y que rige a las carreras de pedagogía desde el año 2016, reconoce la complejidad de la labor docente y, a partir de distintos requerimientos, exige a las instituciones formadoras, el diseño, aplicación y acompañamiento en una evaluación diagnóstica para los estudiantes que ingresan a un programa de formación en pedagogía. Desde el año 2017, la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de las Américas ha definido un perfil de ingreso para sus estudiantes y, con la finalidad de constatarlo con el perfil de ingreso real, ha diseñado distintas instancias diagnósticas, de habilidades comunicativas, de pensamiento lógico matemático, de percepción de habilidades TIC y de actitudes e intereses para la enseñanza.
