This relation can result in an interesting effect. In the output signal, simultaneously the IMD3 products are cancelled and the ratio of the phasors of fundamental components is restored.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. Such an antenna was invented by P.S. Hall (1986), the main advantages of this antenna are: good size-weight characteristics; ability of conformable mounting on curved surfaces; and relatively low cost and high reliability of parameters due to modern microwave printed circuit technology of manufacturing. The main technical requirements for antenna under design are: beamwidth of radiation pattern in azimuth plane 90 deg., in elevation plane 30 deg.; mainlobe direction due to the axis of cylindrical carrier 90 deg.; input VSWR 2-2.5 in frequency band 8-18 GHz; and antenna gain 9-10 dB. The electromagnetically coupled rectangular microstrip patch had been used as radiating element of array.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. An MMIC active component circuit assists all the filter designs. The MMIC component performs a negative resistance with an associated imaginary part. By using this component, the negative resistance leads to compensation for the losses of the passive filter while the imaginary part leads to reduction of the length of the resonator. Two filters, implemented in microstrip and coplanar technologies, have been designed and tested to demonstrate our approach. In the last step, we have developed a frequency tuneable band-pass filter.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. However in practice often it is necessary to ensure two-frequency or multi-frequency matching, when ideal matching on two or several narrow frequency bands is required. The authors examine the two-frequency matching method. This method allows matching of arbitrary complex loads on two arbitrary frequencies. The method is based on L-type circuit usage. Matching network structure is shown. On one frequency first L-circuit L1 or L2 matches load with transmission line. On the second frequency input impedances of these L-circuits are Z/sub L1/ and Z(L2). The second L-circuit matches these impedances with the line on second frequency. Then the elements of the second L-circuit are replaced by parallel and serial oscillating contours. Resonance is present on the first frequency and the first L-circuit does not affect the whole network; on the second frequency contour impedances are equal to respective L-circuit elements impedance. The resulted network provides two-frequency matching.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications. The cold cathode based on the formed metal-insulator-metal (MIM) structure is a kind of field emitter and it can be potentially used for some UHF applications. Formed MIM cathodes have demonstrated current densities up to 0.5 A/cm/sup 2/, but these values are low and have to be improved. Forming is the final step of MIM cathode fabrication strongly affecting its emission characteristics. Despite the fact that numerous work has been done in this field, many aspects of the forming process still remain unclear. The present paper reports some new results on studying the forming process in MIM systems.","PeriodicalId":132112,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the IEEE - Russia Conference. 1999 High Power Microwave Electronics: Measurements, Identification, Applications.
