Voltage harmonics are produced by the harmonic currents flowing through the grid. In turn, the current harmonics are generated by the non-linear loads. Voltage harmonics might be troublesome depending on the line impedance, and these harmonics can be amplified by the harmonic propagation phenomenon. The proposed solutions to this phenomenon include both active and passive approaches. This controller is endowed with notable characteristics predicted in theory and observed in simulations, among others: it is robust under load and input voltage variations and does not require current measurements. Although it is highly nonlinear, it is easy to implement. Furthermore simple conditions for stability have been provided. All this characteristics are evaluated in practice in this work. The inverter is based on typical PWM (pulse-width modulation) VSI (voltage source inverter) and is employed as active powers filter (APF) and connected in parallel with the CPPS. APF is used to compensate reactive power and suppress characteristic harmonics drawn from a particular current-pulsed power supply which is a nonlinear load in nature. This type of power supply is mainly used by electro-deposition processes acting as the critical load to evaluate the proposed three-level NPC APF scheme. This type of pulsed power supplies can produce complex non periodic waveforms employed by the electrochemical industry. The diagnosis with bond graphs bases its analysis in the variables' amplitude changes causing shorter detection times because the detection and isolation stages can be carried out at the end of the transient state obtained from the fault. The bond graph model considers three stator windings, five rotor bars and the electronic switches to diagnose actual faults. With this selection, an active filter is theoretically able to perform an adequate compensation of all the most common polluting perturbations of electrical systems, such as unbalances, harmonic distortion, non characteristic harmonics, reactive power and power factor. This approach is only valid at steady state or for slow transient events, because the settling time of the active filter reaches a high value, almost three 60 Hz cycles. In low-voltage and large-current DC-DC converters, synchronous-rectifier circuits are used to improve the power efficiency. Self-driven synchronous-rectifier circuits are generally used because of isolation and easy control. Recently, it has been noticed that abnormal phenomenon occurs under some conditions in the DC-DC converter with both active-clamp snubber circuit and synchronous-rectifier circuit. This phenomenon occurs in both the ordinary forward converter with active-clamp snubber and common-source type forward converter.
