He received the B.Sc. degree in mechanical and electrical engineering from the National University of Mexico, Mexico city, Mexico, in 1987 and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Centre of Research and Advanced Studies, Polytechnical Institute of Mexico, Mexico City, Mexico, and the Ph.D. degree in automatic control from the National University of Mexico in 1993. Since 1986, he has given several lectures related to Automatic Control at the University of Mexico. He is currently a Full Professor in the Engineering Faculty, National University of Mexico. The loop around the servo is closed using a proportional derivative (PD) controller. A model of the servo is simultaneously controlled using a second PD controller. The error and its time derivative between the output of both, the real servo and its model, is employed for identifying the motor parameters which in turn are employed for updating the model. Properties of the identification scheme are studied using Lyapunov stability theory. First, a designed fuzzy gain scheduling of PI controller is investigated, in which fuzzy rules are utilized on-line to adapt the PI controller parameters based on the error and its first time derivative. However, the major disadvantage of the fuzzy logic control is the lack of design techniques, for this purpose we propose an optimization technique of the fuzzy logic adapter parameters using genetic algorithm. The effectiveness of the complete proposed control scheme is verified by numerical simulation. The control systems of the master and the slave inverters are based on a passivity approach and they have a good performance achieving that the current is divided between the two inverters, even in the presence of non-linear loads. Besides, the system presents a fast transient response and guarantee in its output a continue-sinusoidal waveform. Osorio","doi":"10.1109/CIEP.2006.312158","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/CIEP.2006.312158","url":null,"abstract":"Due to recent tendencies to eliminate the electrodes in discharge lamps, this paper presents a feasibility study to determine whether is possible to replace electrode terminals with capacitance coupling (dielectric barrier discharge) operating as glow discharge. The results showed that is possible to operate a fluorescent lamp using dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at relatively low frequencies (100 kHz-200 kHz) and obtain a considerable large luminous efficacy. This paper will especially focus on the use of DBD combined with short high voltage pulses. The short high voltage pulses are obtained from a class-E-converter with output transformer. The most ways of stator flux observer is based on motor voltage model to avoid the variation of the motor induction parameter which is caused by saturation. Classic strategy of flux observer is to get the flux by integrating the voltage, and the common problem is delay and drift with DC error. This paper makes a farther study on stator flux observer based on PLL which can avoid the delay and drift. A small-signal model of the observer is first established and then the translation function is yielded. Industrial processes are particularly sensitive to relatively minor voltage sags. Utilities have been improved their fault-recovery capabilities, however it is still impossible to eliminate faults in the systems. Therefore, customers will have to improve the ride-through capability of the system equipment in their facilities. This paper presents the application of the single-phase DQ theory as a simple method to detect voltage sags in the AC mains obtaining the voltage peak value. This information can be used to achieve, by analytical manipulations, the input current adjusting during the sag, in order to maintain the load power constant. Applying the above considerations to a single-phase five-level PWM rectifier both objectives power factor correction in steady state and voltage sag compensation in transient state are gotten.
