Abstract

This paper presents a comparison study of different LUT compression techniques used to generate sinusoidal waveforms applied to ROM-less structures using programmable logic devices. The emphasis of the study is the implementation of these techniques in reference signal generators for PWM control circuits. The use of 8 and 12 bits word widths and their impact on the THD levels of the waveforms and the number of logic blocks required for implementation is presented
