The article describes an interdisciplinary project for creating a virtual reconstruction of the landscape of Bely Gorod of the 16th – 18th centuries – a historical area in the center of Moscow. The reconstruction is designed to be rendered using a virtual reality headset. To improve performance, authors implemented a foveated endering technique. It allows to display in high resolution only the area of the scene that the user is currently looking at.
