Induced electric-motor voltages in the appliances’ circuits during the atmospheric discharges are damaging the appliances. Small-scale Distributed Generation sources are beginning to be used in residential areas, and they are operated in networks designed decades ago. In the absence of optimized consumer allocation on the network’s phases, these developments can lead to high phase unbalances in low voltage distribution networks, with increased active power losses and poor voltage quality. This paper presents a balancing approach that uses a Genetic Algorithm with the aim of minimizing the active power losses over an interval of 24 hours. Nicola","doi":"10.1109/SIELMEN.2019.8905847","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/SIELMEN.2019.8905847","url":null,"abstract":"This paper shows a fuzzy logic-based method for determining the degree of polymerization of the solid insulation of a transformer, taking into account the 2-FAL (2-furfuraldehyde) content. The proposed method generates information on the “health” condition of the transformer, with a high precision degree. The proposed system is based on two fuzzy-type controllers, and for each input/output of them it is defined a type of membership functions, triangle and trapezoid for a better response of analysis. The obtained results were compared to the results got by classical methods applied for the same 2-FAL content. At the same time, in many countries there are being raised the idea of transition to 100% RES. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the technical potential of the photovoltaic renewable energy sources available in Republic of Moldova with scope to contribute to achievement the goals of the Energy Strategy until 2030, the main state document in the field of energy. The Republic of Moldova is an Associate Membership of the EU and a Membership of Energy Community. These facts determines the country’s development direction and policies of its energy sector. The goals of this Strategy include diversification of energy sources, inclusively RES, ensuring the share of annual electricity production from RES at least 15% (about 1,274 TWh) in 2030 and reducing greenhouse gases emissions by 25% in 2020. Republic of Moldova has an insignificant amount of fossil energy resources (coal, natural gas and oil). At the same time, the renewable electricity production is insignificant and the economy entirely depends on imports of fossil energy resources from neighbor countries. A continuing decline in own production was identified, which in 2018 constituted only 18 % of total gross power consumption. Starting 2013, RM becomes an e-RES producer. In 2018, e-RES production accounted for 1.3 % of total gross power consumption. The main technologies for producing e-RES are: biogas based on biomass waste, wind and solar photovoltaic. In this paper, the application of energy storage systems in Russia is presented in order to improve the voltage profile in the electric networks of the big cities of the Russian Federation.
