In iron-rich magnetostrictive amorphous wires (MAW), several interesting effects occur, among which Villary, Wiedeman and Matteucci effects are most important. In particular, Matteucci effect consists in generation of sharp pulses between the ends of a straight MAW when it is concomitantly subject to an axial alternative magnetic field and to a torsion strain. The pulses amplitude is dependent on the intensity of the magnetic field and on the torsional degree, that is on the angle. In the paper, the construction, operation and features of a sensor devoted to measure rotational movements are presented, along with a method of signal conditioning designed to converting the peak amplitude of the sensor output pulses into frequency information. The experimental tests revealed good performances of the transducer, despite its low cost. An analysis of several external influence factors upon the transducer operation and characteristics is also performed.","PeriodicalId":129030,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electromechanical and Energy Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124485262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These tests are important, as they allow for the calculation of the motor parameters. The comparisons between the simulated and the experimentally determined plots allow us to state that the occurring errors are in compliance with the actual limits imposed by the test standards. After-wards, there exists the possibility to simulate the stationary and dynamic modes, in order to determine the behavior of the motor while running. The simulations and experimental tests were carried out with a traction motor from a diesel electric locomotive.","PeriodicalId":129030,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electromechanical and Energy Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122083713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fast development of electronic equipments (laptops, monitors, televisions, mobile telephony, wireless data transmission equipment, radar antennas, etc.) during the last decades has led to new interdisciplinary studies and researched regarding the short, medium and long term effects of electromagnetic radiation over the human health. A significant aspect to be studied from this point of view as well as from the safety of wireless data transmission is the study of how materials used in the architectural field of interior and exterior behave with respect to the electromagnetic field radiation. In this paper are presented certain experimental determinations made with high performance equipments that belong to the electromagnetic compatibility laboratory within ICMET-Craiova, on certain materials used in constructions (DEBOND, Polycarbonate, Fireproof polypropylene and gypsum board). The experimental results have showed that the materials studied, except for the DEBOND material which contains a thin sheet of aluminum (Al) in its composition, unfortunately do not provide a good efficiency under electromagnetic radiation.","PeriodicalId":129030,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electromechanical and Energy Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126309898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The parameter identification procedure is implemented in the Matlab/Simulink environment. This procedure was also implemented in an embedded system and the results of the two (offline and online) identification methods of the nominal parameters of the PMSM are presented comparatively to the parameters in the datasheet. Moldova. In this respect economic simulations are used. The paper shows that only 70% of the demand could be covered directly from wind farms and photovoltaic energy sources (WPES), the installed power of which should be 2.44 higher than the maximum power of annual demand. The remained 30% of energy (RE) - by energy storage system (ESS) with a capacity (kWh) of 32% from RE and a power (MW) of 87% from maximum power demand. As country doesn’t have its own hydro reserves, Li-ion batteries are considered for ESS. The investment in such SSE would exceed 3-52 times national GDP and that makes unrealistic 100% RES scenario for R. Moldova. As analysis showed, there are more than 1400 cases/episodes within the year when energy to cover daily demand cannot be accumulated during 1 to 4 days. By reducing SSE capacity to a value equal to the daily energy demand and maintaining ESS power, it was found that the levelised tariff of WPES+ESS scenario exceeds, however, those of traditional scenarios. Only 5% of energy produced by WPES can be accumulated in such ESS, the remaining 25% - by importing electricity during the night when the price for electricity is the lowest, in the calculations above taken at negligible level. Subsequent improvement WPES+ESS scenario is seen by modifying WPES installed power, involving gas turbines, using ESS for system services.","PeriodicalId":129030,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electromechanical and Energy Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129938450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The voltage equations and the flux expressions in the three-phase mathematical model are rewritten in a convenient form. After the analyzing of the previous implementations in PSpice, a simplified version of the equivalent electrical scheme was proposed. The computing capacity of the type E voltage sources was intensively used in order to reduce the number of nodes of the equivalent circuit. The proposed implementation can be designed as a subcircuit. The main program can call this subcircuit when needed. The proposed implementation proved to be fast and easy to use. No convergence issues were reported. It is extremely useful in a wide range of special situations which requires the use of three-phase model.","PeriodicalId":129030,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Electromechanical and Energy Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133679586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
